Q1.*How do I root my device? ***IF THIS HELPS YOU HIT THE THANKS BUTTON!! ITS LITERALLY ONE CLICK!***
Step 1: Download this file.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/pr70fitqpq9c4l6/Huawei-Fusion-2-Recovery-Root.zip
Step 2 ut the Huawei Fusion 2 Recovery Root.zip on your desktop.
Step 3 : Download and install "Huawei Fusion 2 U8665 ADB drivers.rar" from here (password is xda-developers.com)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/z70julkgz1c9hss/Huawei-Fusion2-U8665-adb-drivers.rar
Install by opening .rar and running "DriverSetup.exe".
Step 4 :Make a folder called "Huawei Fusion 2" on your desktop.
Step 5 :Extract Zip from step 2 into your fusion 2 folder.
Step 6 :Turn off phone.
Step 7 :Reboot fastboot by holding Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously for 10-20 seconds.
(It will freeze at ATT logo. This is fastboot, it's a freeze to be happy about)
Step 8 :Connect phone to computer.
Step 9 : Open the folder you made and open the extracted zip (if you haven't extracted do this now)
Step 10 : Double click "Run Me"
Step 11 :Type "fastboot devices" and hit enter this will confirm if you are connected via fastboot (you are) if your connected it will list some numbers and letters and the words fastboot next to the numbers and letters.
Step 12 :Now flash modified recovery by typing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.superrecovery.img" into the "run me" window and hitting enter.
Step 13 :Unplug after the process runs says finished. And gives you the total time.
Step 14 :Remove back of phone and take out battery for 10-15 seconds.
Step 15 :Reinsert battery hold volume up and power button simultaneously until it boots into recovery (15-20 seconds of holding both buttons)
Step 16 :Reboot Device by selecting the "reboot device" option with the volume buttons (it should already start with reboot highlighted) so just press the power button to reboot.
Step 17 :Grab a beer and relax as your device reboots with SuperSU (main root app)!

My note is with samsung being repaired. Got this phone as an alternative to an old iphone 3g I had. I was happy as hell to see your and RFE's root methods. Wanted to make a guide that was noob friendly, as I imagine many folks buying this phone are new to android, in my situation, or ona budget.
Point is I wanted a step by step guide to be accessible to everyone. Thanks for the support roboticbuddy, and thanks for your initial work.
I am in the process of getting a CWM custom recovery image for the device, and then CYANOGEN MOD!

I will test it. Did you just run the recovery builder with the recovery.img, or with the 3 other files as well.

working CWM
Hi,
I was able to install the CWM recovery of Y201 from the below forum on the Fusion 2 using the fastboot flashing recovery steps for Fusion2. ":/fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" with the Y201 recovery file saved in the same folder.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35908322
even tho the Y201 recovery is little slower on the Fusion2, I was able to backup the rom, install new custom roms of Y200 and restore the original carrier rom.
The y200 roms I installed and successfully booted into fusion 2 were:
1) CleanBaseRom#5.zip (same as carrier rom with out most of att junk)
2)ICS_OS_20130203.zip (same as carrier rom with ICS theme, had problem with gallery and screen would not turn on from sleep)
Didnt see much difference so restored the carrier rom back.
Hopefully this helps

Happy New Year
First attempt at custom ROM, heard great things about All Star Rom - going straight for the v6! Unless told not to ... LOL
Have a rooted device, with latest TWRP recovery 2.3.3.1-hercules .tar flashed.
Have v6 and All-Star 4.2 custom gapps downloaded.
Copy of instructions for reference sake:
TWRP recovery recommended!
- wipe data
- wipe system
-(Use Darkside Super wipe if still on cwm 5.0.2.7 or below)
- flash rom
- flash All-Star 4.2 gapps
- wipe cache/ dalvik cache.
- reboot and wait 10 mins
- reboot and wait 1 minute
- Grant Superuser permissions for Switchme
- set up device.
- Initiate the CPU sleeper app
- (Highly Recommended) ENJOY!
Booting into TWRP recovery,
I don't specifically have a "wipe data" option, I want to be very thorough here.
Under "Wipe" I have Cache, Dalvik Cache, Factory Reset, ... and System.
Quick answer? Thanks.
Hey, happy new years justaguy705. Nice to see you asking questions again.
To answer your question, the option where you see "Factory Reset" is the exact same as "Wipe data". Cheers!

Unless you have a recovery system already. You will need a computer to install a recovery system such as TWRP 2.3.3.0 to your phone through Odin (PC application).

Doesn't being rooted means he rooted himself via a recovery, unless he flashed stock rom again. In which it would wipe his recovery.

He may have a custom recovery file, but from what I know to install the latest and recommended TWRP recovery you would need to have a computer to flash it. But you are free to explain to him with your steps to flashing without a computer.

Make sure your phone is off and not connected to a USB cable. Press and hold the "volume up/volume down" keys and then press the power button until you feel a vibrate and the screen turns on. After that you should be in recovery mode and it will say the version you are using. If you have a CWM recovery version greater than 6.0 you should be able to flash a ROM through your phone.

To flash TWRP on to your phone and you still do not have access to a computer, you can try using the Mobile Odin app on the Play store as android88 had mentioned above (however, the app is around $5.00 if you're willing to purchase it). Otherwise, flashing the recovery system through Odin using a computer is the way to do it.

Team Win Recovery Project 2.6, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It’s a fully touch driven user interface – no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

YEA BUDDY! Worked perfect..... FYI at HTCdev select "All Other Supported Models" when selecting device. Just throwing that out there before the question is asked.
I'm assuming Sprint and VZW recoveries are different, correct?
Ok, Correct me if i'm wrong..
First i need to d/l twrp recovery.
Then I need to head to htcdev's site and unlock the device..
After that, I enter Fastboot by holding "Volume down+Power key" correct?
The last few steps im confused, I'm assuming it has to do with plugging phone into pc and doing commands? If at all possible, Can we get step by step on this part? Thanks!

I was quite the fan of your toolkit when I used the at&t One. It's quite a time saver, and recommend it for everyone. I'm certainly not a noob. I've been doing this since the HTC Hero, and I consistently find myself pulling up your toolkit rather than running adb scripts myself.
Thanks again, and highly recommended.

That is an adb shell running under superuser on your tablet. There may be some script it wants you to run on the tablet. I personally am using CWM so I don't know all that much about TWRP (I didn't even put CWM on mine, I had a friend come over and help with that). So I know what that is but not why you have it or what you should do with it. Sorry.

Why install 2.6.3.0? If you look at the thread in the Original Android Development subforum, there are easy instructions for installing TWRP 2.6.3.2 using the Flashify app. Why not try that?

Because nobody reads anything anymore. They just piecemeal together instructions from other devices and what they think will work and then cry and complain when it doesn't when they didn't follow instructions in the first place.
I will admit I did work all day and picked the v500 up the same day and just wanted to go home and have it just gel. Stayed up really late trying to put pieces together but for people unfamiliar with command prompts and such the "easy" methods can just come off as foreign. I used this post as a last resort. I appreciate people who create one click methods but if it wasn't for newbs then what would be the point of them at all? A guy has to start somewhere and learn as he goes.

I'm not sure what you want at this point. Did you go to the TWRP thread in the Original Android Development subforum? If so, find the link for TWRP 2.6.3.2 and download it to your PC. Move the file to your G Pad. Download the Flashify app from the Play Store. Open the app, and navigate to "Flash Recovery". Navigate to the file that you downloaded and flash it. That's it. And if you have more questions, ask them in the TWRP thread.
P.S., before you make any other significant changes to your device, please read through the forum. You'll save yourself some serious future pain.
Wow so much easier! Thanks a lot man. Note to self: dont try to do this stuff at 3am, save it for the daytime ha.

Get Flashify and install it . http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349847.
Then go here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551499.
Download the apropriate file ( V50010a /b /c , depending of what version you have on you tab ) then you will have to rename the file to TWRP.img , then download http://goo.gl/UlPy11 wich is the flashable TWRP.ZIP.
Now copy those two files for you SD or externalSD.
Run flashify and select Recovery Image and use the file you renamed to TWRP.img and flash it,don´t reboot yet, select ZIP File and flash v500-TWRP_2.6.3.1-recovery.zip , wich the flashable zip you´ve downloaded second.
Now reboot and you should have your recovery.

I was having the same issue with the flashed TWRP hanging, when I rebooted I'd get:
Fastboot mode started
udc.start()
I followed your instructions exactly, and still no luck -- same reboot error. Any other ideas, or should I try the adb method instead?
thanks!

I've got the same issue. Is there any way to get this done
I have version v500d20. The twrp.lok mentioned in the threads are only for versions v500a10 b,c,e. So no d and no 20. Could this be the problem?

NOW YOU CAN INSTALL CWM DIRECTLY FROM ICS
INSTALL AN UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER WITHOUT UNBRICKING
A few months ago I found this thread on XDA :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42657066
This thread provided a way to install CWM from Jellybean V30C for the SU640 without unbricking the phone first. Now not exactly the same, the phones are close enough that it peaked my interest. Digging into it I discovered that the partition mmcblk0p7 contains the bootloader, and it was as simple as pushing the unlocked bootloader from Gingerbread to the correct partition, therefore bypassing the entire need to unbrick the phone first and thus allowing the install of CWM.
So I got brave enough and installed the P936 v10i Gingerbread ROM and used the command in ADB shell to extract the bootloader:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p7 of=/sdcard/bootloader.img. After this I restored my phone completely to stock. Rooted using the root at the above link, then ran my batch file and I had CWM no Security Error!!
The steps are simple:
Start with stock ICS (any version, carrier or phone version p93x). v20c, v20d, v20e, or v20f.
1. ROOT PHONE with the root from the above link or any method that works for you.
2. Run my batch file.
3. Install a custom ROM.
Before anyone asks me I used v 6.0.1.5 TOUCH for CWM. There are actually several reasons why. For me v 6.0.4.5 was incompatible with any ROM with kernel version 3.4. Also if I would initiate a backup from the Rom Manager app, CWM couldn't locate the backup directory.
ENJOY
:victory:
First this only is recommended for LG's Nitro HD models P930, P935 & P936. I do not recommend installing on the SU640 or LU6200.
Thnks!
Worked like a charm! (the second time lol)
I've been waiting for an easy workaround like this, you're great!
Awesome work.
Where did you get CWM 6.0.1.4? Is it the recovery.img located in the zip in the OP? I have two P930s and both have 6.0.4.5 installed. On one, I can get into recovery without a problem, the other one can't.
Thanks

May have something to do where it is stored on your C drive. Try copying the folder to the root directory on your C drive and running the batch file with administrator permissions.

I never managed to get into recovery with the phone off. If I long press volume down with power button I get the message if I want to permanently erase everything (factory reset) and if I long press volume up with power I get into download mode.
(using lg nitro hd, cm 10.2.1, unbricked and rooted using hereric's guide, and I have latest cwm installed)

That is exactly the message that you want. Press power button twice and you will be in CWM. It says factory reset because that is what will happen if you didn't have a custom recovery installed, no worries though.

Yes you can flash directly, since it only flashes the boot loader and recovery it will not touch your ROM.

I went to cyanogenmods website and ran the installer as directed. That installed cyanogenmod and rooted the device automatically, then you can download and flash any of the other custom ROMs on this site.

Do this
1. Boot into download/bootloader mode.
2. Connect to pc and use odin to flash twrp. Make sure you uncheck reboot and flash twrp in the pda slot.
3. Once flashed pull battery and disconnect from pc.
4. Press vol+ menu power buttons while inserting battery (yes it is difficult but can be done)
5. Now in recovery perform factory reset.
6. Flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36388145
7. Now reboot it will act/look weird but dont worry this is normal. It will reboot and take a long time to boot.
Now you are on stock mc2 (no knox anymore). Root using cf autoroot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33278464
Now use odin once again and flash your recovery again. Now you are rooted and have a custom recovery. Oh and you have a working phone again.

Before I do all of that...I discovered I can boot into TWRP and updated it to the newest version. Then I installed the cyanogen nightly onto the phone. Everything seemed to be working ok except I couldn't get any phone signal but wifi worked. I tried loading the dirty unicornes rom and the same thing happened . I then flashed cm 10.1 and the phone worked for calls but the asop keyboard kept crashing and couldn't login to the wifi network. I tried several installs with factory resets with the same results. If I follow the directions you listed will I be able to install these roms and the phone work for calls or am I missing another piece of the puzzle?
