battery percentage works crazy its not going down by down
I have this issue more or less on every CM ROM. It does not affect actual battery life the percantage just does not update often enough for some reason.

I just got my new 2150 mAh battery in today. Phone is off right now, with the new battery in it charging. Now I wiped the battery stats before I threw the new battery in, but should I do it again after the new battery has a full charge and I turn it on for the first time???
There has been a lot of vapor regarding battery stats. I have seen it claimed that stats (which to my mind only report things that have happened) can influence future battery performance.
That makes no sense to me whatsoever.
I do it with every install, just to do it, dont know what effect it has, but i never have issues with roms or kernels. Just my $.02.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
The most widespread theory is you should first charge it all the way up, bump charge it once more, then clear the battery stats. You should then proceed to let the battery drain all the way down to 0, and when you recharge the software should charge the battery to a fuller amount.
Of course I don't know how much truth that actually has. I know when I did that, the next day wasn't great, but everyday after that for the next few days got marginally better (less of a drop in the morning).
As far as i understand it (i'm not an expert, just read a LOT of threads) wiping the battery stats won't have any effect on how well the battery charges - it just helps the phone report an accurate percentage as the battery discharges
I've been searching but haven't found what I need.
Yesterday I was playing a game and my phone froze so I did a hard reboot. I was at 77% before the reboot. After the phone turned back on I was all the way down to 41%. During this time my phone was running very hot. In fact it ran hot all day at work and wouldn't charge. After the first battery pull, the battery dropped I did a third battery pull and things turned back to normal.
I'm running Blend 7.1 with the FD02 kernel and FD19 Modem. Going to update my kernel tomorrow. I just switched back from AOSP. This has happened to me in the past as well.
Our phone anticipates battery drain. I've had the reboot battery drop, but despite the lower percentage, the battery drains slowly and increases during sleep.
You're not actually losing battery capacity; the OS is anticipating quicker loss and reflects as much with a lower percentage

Awesome. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something that I had done wrong.
I was curious what kind of idle battery drain people are getting on their tablets/ROMs?
Measuring with Battery monitor Widget Pro, on my 8.4, running stock TW except for Towelroot, I am averaging -150ma.

Since I have an amper cable I can see the current the tablet draws when its plugged in with screen off / idle and fully charged. mine does this
0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-20-0-0-0-0-0-20-0-0-0-0-0-20
so I would say its draws a quick 20 ma every 10 seconds - but since its plugged in it might not be in the deepest sleep setting that it would be when on battery.
anyways I have no problems with it staying at 100% or 99% leaving it off for the whole day unplugged so it has very good power management in my opinion. - just have to keep the wakelock apps in check
I updated from the ng1 build to the latest nk1 build and my idle battery drain is much improved with the exact same setup running. Now down to -40-50 mah.
I have terrible battery drain randomly for no reason and I don't no what is causing the battery to drain so much. I have attached an image is there anyway of seeing what causes this much battery to drain so quick?

You should install better battery stats, available here on XDA, to pinpoint your battery usage.
Looks like there was a really battery draining event that occurred quite suddenly?

I noticed in the screenshot you have might GPS on, there could be an app running in the background abusing GPS or polling it too quickly (look for a blinking / solid white pointer Icon in the top left of the statusbar, this will tell you if something is requesting location).
GPS will drain battery very quickly and should be disabled unless it's needed.
From my experience with the G3 (D855) it appears that the battery percentage indicator on most roms is horrendously off.
On stock based roms I have seen the battery percent hang at 100% for an alarming/comforting 20 or so minutes of SOT. From there it seems the battery percentage gets even less accurate until it almost drops a percentage a minute towards the end of the charge. I see that this is blatantly false representation of the true percentage of battery remaining on my device. It annoys me to as when using my device throughout the day I like to have an idea of how I must adjust or limit my usage in order to get to a charge, but with rouge percentages like so, it just doesn't make any sense.
I should not have to reset the battery calibration file as other users have reported this too on other battery threads. I was wondering if anyone has discovered a fix for this annoying bug? Or if we can bring some ideas together to make a flashable fix for it?
Yes, I know these battery drain threads are getting annoying, but I can't seem to find a solution to mine...
What happens is that after charging to 100% or near it, I have a very small battery drain (like 11-14 %/h), and then if I do something a bit more demanding (games, substratum, etc) my battery drain starts to get a little worse (16-20%/h). Even if I return to my light usage after my heavier usage, the battery drain is still there...
Battery usage is calculated based on capacity used over time since last charge. It's an average, not a real time monitor.

I know that... Which is why I have reset the battery stats, before returning to my light usage. The thing is, the light usage drains much more battery after the heavy usage the before.
