Delete Tethering Manager and you will be able to use the built in Tethering Options!
Although I did delete all that T-Mobile Crapware as well.
Just thought I'd share

In doing so, we will be able to tether USB/Wifi for free, without paying the $14.99/month fee?

In theory, yes. If T-Mobile finds out about it though...

If T-Mobile finds out oh well. I already paid for the data once. Why should I have to pay for it again. Either why the will still slow my speeds after 5GB.
But rooting the phone and freezing or removing the tether manager worked for me as well.

Just an FYI. After I uninstalled the tethering manager and rebooted phone I no longer had mobile data or calling or any connecion via the radio.
I had to install it back from the stock back up. Once I did and rebooted it went back to being fine.
In case anyone else runs into this doing the above.
just a reminder, you don't have to uninstall. just freeze using TI Backup, works the same way, but safer.

I have the free version and freeze is not an option. But I am new to TI backup and just grabbed it from the market.
can you confirm portabe wifi hotspot is working by doing this? please let me know before i return the phone.
i'm currently tethered just fine. the only issue i see is that the only way to start tethering is through the settings menu (which is fine... i don't want to start it on accident anyway).
Curious of you guys have a data plan why would it matter? Curious?

so we can use this data with our laptops/tablets?
I backed up and uninstall it with Titanium. Wifi hotspot working. Tested on my iPad.

I totally agree with clamder. Its best to just freeze all the apps that you don't want rather than uninstall just to be on the save side.

WiFi Tether Wireless Tethering now that we have root
Thanks to ronin4740,
to get the factory wireless tethering to work you must delete or freeze tethering manager with titanium backup (or similar app). the you should have the wireless tethering feature working.
Wireless Tethering now that we have root
I was wondering if anyone was successfully able to get wireless tether to work now that we have root? If so please share what you did so that we all can get wireless tethering to work. Thanks in advance!

I believe that I've seen kind of trick for that but only available on rooted devices bcoz need app that require root.
In your case, to be safe, just use WiFi instead. Wait till u got WiFi available in any place to check ur FB.
Cheers!!

You can download apps that are only available in USA
I found the vpn apps dont work - maybe its a kernel or phone brand issue
i found the best way of doing this is using proxydroid and then finding a proxy server of the country you want to use
you dont have to worry bout speed of proxy - the playstore will remain in that country till you clear its data
Use market unlocker easier than this, It is available in play store for free

If it is similar to the old market enabler app it no longer exists as Google removed them all
also them apps no longer work as Google changed how the market works about 6 months ago
Instead of country codes it now uses IP Addresses
Therefore the only way to access a different countries playstore is to change your IP to look like you are in that country
Either vpn or a proxy server can do this

Check your APN settings using a third party app from the Play Store (there are several). Here's a link to a site with APN settings for Sprint as well as other networks:
