When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the OnePlus 3T's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.

I think MM is good in general, but so far so good. I only lose 1 to 3% overnight.
I have plenty of battery drain overnight, mostly the Android system, Android OS and Google services.
I've had the phone for 2 days now and overnight battery drain is around 5%, but the real problem is that Android System takes up around 30% of my battery.
in 8h night (standby) i get 1-2% drain.
wifi, sync enabled.
if you get major drain, then its something on your setup causing it.
its always like that. (except something is broken on hardware side)
OxygenOS 3.5.1. - 1-2% battery drain;
OxygenOS 3.5.3. - 0% battery drain (in one scenario phone was left to [email protected]% (took off the charger and it drained 0% in 4 hour sleep period and in the other scenario the phone was left @53% to sleep and it drained 0% in 8 hour sleep period)
more info can be found here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/battery-life-sd821-400mah-t3505786
My experience is that the phone is better than average for sleep drain, just ~1-2 % with stock kernel. With Tyranus kernel v12 by @mdalexca, I'm not seeing any drain overnight at all. Battery life on medium usage looks to be a few days at least. (Yeah, I'm a light user aside from my first week with a new phone where I nearly wear it out ;)
Using Nova Launcher ...experiencing battery drain 3~4% overnight (5-7 hours) with WiFi off. But during the day, WiFi on, not even touching phone and it goes down 10% in an hour and a half. Battery reports Android System as the culprit. Any suggestions guys?

Turn off Android System.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
I got pretty good standby last night. Some nights don't give me near as good standby, so it's quite inconsistent.

Hows your deep sleep, working ok? Even if it shows Android system, it could be some app which isnt working correctly.
I got someone here with one plus 3 non t version (I got t, same problem like you) and is just flashed Chinese version of one plus 3 on his phone and zero drain but bare in mind the Chinese version doesn't got Google services at all , no play store and stuff , is saying is got more juice now , but I am just thinking you will need to install Google services for YouTube and stuff . Hmmm just saying Google battery hog .
For now I am waiting for developers to receive their phone . I just can't wait for many custom ROMs
using stock Oxygen with BT/Wifi on, 2 push accounts with 4-5% drain overnight

How do I check the deep sleep? I just went back to the shop and idk what they did but they said they ran a software check(?) And asked me to try the phone again for a day. Surprisingly overnight with wifi off only went down 1℅ (but this was on oneplus launcher) but then during the day it drained as fast as previous. But now the batt reports show first Android OS, Cell standby and then Android system....

I'm not sure is it possible to check it without the root, but if you are rooted, then BetterBatteryStats is quite handy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats&hl=en

I have the MBA bug. I see a lot of people avoid it by staying on WiFi but I can't. Result is rapid battery drain.
I'm still getting reasonable battery though if I remember to toggle airplane mode. Device sleeps well enough. Almost perfect awake to screen on ratio.

Wifi scanning and bluetooth is already disabled, and facebook isn't installed. This same issue exists in Oneplus 3 and Oneplus is not bothered to fix it.

I'm on Stock 2.2 US and Battery Life is HORRENDOUS. I have the Moto Charge app that displays actual battery in the status bar. I charged to 100%, wiped battery stats, turned it on and after 6 minutes of no use, I'm at 97%. What am I missing here?
Are there any apps constantly running in the background?
Do you have bluetooth/wi-fi/gps switched on all the time?
Are you using your phone somewhere that's unusually hot, cold or humid?

No, no, no, no, no
How long have you had it?
Has the battery always been this bad?
Has it only started recently? Is there some sort of cause, something that happened that has brought about this poor performance?
I just got the phone from a friend but I do not believe it to be an issue directly related to this specific handset.
Having GPS "on" all the time will not drain your battery as it is only being made "available" when an app needs it (mine is always checked and has zero effect on the battery until actually used). Did you do a factory reset after installing 2.2? On the Moto forum many issues are resolved with a reset.

Lithium-ion batteries have a big drop off at the start of the discharge profile.
They will then maintain a fairly steady state between about 80% - 40%.
A 3% change, therefore, from 100 to 97 is not equivalent to a 3% change from 80% to 77%.
I'm pretty certain it is specific to your handset - most Defys have very good battery life.
Here's my handset:

At that rate, it should last ~5 days.
There are always something running in the background. Install a cpu monitoring application and see if the cpu is running wild.
In my case, 1% power lasts for 3~5 minutes usage (game, movie, surfing etc), or 2 hours standby (wifi off), or 1 hour standby (wifi on).
I checked Battery Use, there is nothing crazy. I've also checked Battery History and nothing is using the CPU or keeping it awake. I actually wiped the phone last night, didn't have a sim card in it and left it on over night and it lost 14% in 7 hours. It shouldn't have even lost 2% given that it wasn't connected to a cell tower. I have wiped it twice.

I am of a differing opinion.. I think these android devices have terrible battery life.
That being said, invest in a few of the cheap Hong Kong 1800mAH batteries on ebay.
I had a good experience ordering from "farmerseller". Curiously, I ordered 1500mAH batteries but received 1800 mAH batteries..... it took a while to arrive, but they work great and the charger is nicely designed.

Compared to what?
What's your frame of reference?
I'm not aware of any other smartphone with specs similar-to or better-than the Defy's that gets anywhere near the battery performance my phone does.
Everyone I know with Galaxy Ss or Desires charges basically every day, one friend with an iPhone4 can get a couple of days out of it but most are only a day, friends with Blackberrys get a couple of days or so.
I regularly surpass 3 days of what I would call normal usage - web browsing, texting, a bit of gaming and the odd call here and there.
Are there any ROMs known to get better battery life? On both my N1 and NS, certain ROMs performed LIGHTYEARS better than other ROMs in the battery department. This is a well known fact that Android is inconsistent on battery life.
So I wiped, re-wiped, flash the beach update.zip, wiped, re-wiped and I'm not confident the wipe is working. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988036
Regardless, I also find it odd that my battery was at 85% and, after the flash/wipe, it charged to full in <10 minutes.
Give it a few days of usage and see the results afterward. Basically it needs some cycles to re-create the battery stats after wiping.
You can also install Powertutor to check what apps are "consuming" the battery.
From my experience: with light usage I made once 3 days but normally 1-2 days is all I get (3g, some talks, 30 min browsing, some ebook reading). It was the same with my past 2 Android phones and some 4 Win Mobile phones...
When you are in a really tight spot do the usual tricks: 2g only, disable APN, don't play too much with the phone. You will probably get 3-4 days in one charge
I updated to 2.2.1 also, and battery life went right down the tubes. I lived with it for two days, and then did a factory reset, and now I have better battery life than with 2.1. I really didn't want to factory reset because of all the fine tuning I did, and not to mention re-downloading all the apps and setting them back up, but I must say it was worth it. After 13 hours I'm at 30%, and that is with heavy use. I started at 100% and in 10 hours without using it much at all, it only dropped 10%, so 1% an hour I can live with. Once I started playing game it went fast, but that is to be expected.
Ahhh!!!!! You guys are killing me from laughter. Don't take this the wrong way....but read more items on these forums...they are a welath of information. First off.... battery stats are wiped. It will take a few days of charging/discharging for the phone to get an accurate idea of actual use. It needs a baseline created. Don't worry yet. It can take up to a week to get really good stats. As for the horrible life on 2.2....did you wipe battery stats before flashing? If not thats your problem. You have to wipe the stats when you go to 2.2. Different profiles and usage. It's mentioned in a number of the roms. With steady hard usage I'm averaging about 2 days between charging. On standby with no use the best I have gotten so far is 6 days. RTFM.... Hope this helps out.

Yes, I noticed the same with Note 3.
Yes, I'm having incredible drain. It seems to be the "running sync loop" thing. That's the reason. Although I don't know why.
You have wearable widgets installed?
I haven't noticed any additional drain on my LG G3.
I just got my 360 and my G3 is definitely draining faster. Android Wear is using up a lot of battery.
Massive Battery Drain Xperia Z Ultra [Kitkat] from Androidwear app.
I'm glad i'm not the only one with this problem. I've noticed a massive battery drain on my Xperia ZU going from 100% to 50% in less than 4 hours ever since I got the 360. I've discovered that out of all of the processes I have running on the phone, the Android Wear app seems to the culprit (which would explain how hot the back gets on the phone).
The ZU's battery life isnt the greatest but it used to at least last me the whole day before I go to bed and (that's with heavy usage throughout the day). With light usage, usually I can get away with 30% of battery before hitting the hay.
Thoughts? sounds like we need an update...

I uninstalled any wear apps, androidwear, and moto connect this morning in addition to resetting the 360. I re-paired the watch and only kept the standard app configurations: Agenda - Android Wear, Count Steps - Fit, and Navigate - Google Maps Micro. Even then I'm still draining battery...I just hit 32% since unplugging the phone with 100% @ 8:15 this morning (almost 5 hrs ago - Moto360 is at 70%). I've barely gotten maybe 6 notifications so far..
I've noticed no change in battery life at all with a 360 and my Moto X.
There's definitely a huge drain for me. My G3 was at 20% by 3 PM today, when usually I can get all the way to 10 PM before I hit those levels. My SOT is not even that high yet. I can tell the phone is not deep sleeping properly.

That was one of the first things I noticed when I got the Moto 360, my Nexus 5's battery was draining more rapidly. Isn't leaving Bluetooth on anyway a big battery drainer?

Since I just got my phone this morning, I will have to report my batter usage later.
However, the phone charges SUPER FAST!
I'll tell you when it doesn't charge fast, I plugged it into my S3 charger last night at 11% and it still wasn't at 100% when I woke up about 9 hours later. Yesterday I got 3 1/2 hours of screen time after starting at 70% when I actually got the phone around 5 pm. The phone was under HEAVY use (downloading updates on LTE, customizing, etc.) I'll be interested to see how it does today under mostly normal conditions.

Glad to hear you feel that way! Thank you for the glimmer of hope! I have a feeling you are very right, and that it could have also had a lot to do with the huge amount of downloading I was doing yesterday. Today should be a much more normal day of use. I'll check back in a bit.
My battery went from fully charged to 94% in a matter of minutes just using the Internet. I decreased the screen brightness and removed the sync from some apps. If I don't see an improvement before my 14 days is up this is going back.

Really? It seems pretty good to me now.
Is there a wake lock detector you would be able to recommend? Looks like it needs root?
I let my battery completely drain where it cut off at 1% and let the battery charge fully. Powered it back up and made sure nothing was syncing that I didn't need and now the battery seems to be performing better then before.

Either you have fast charging turned off or something is wrong with your charger/battery. turned off my phone charged 0-100% in 79 mins.
Yeah, his phone is broken or misconfigured if it charges slower than a Note 3. I've owned both, and the note 4 charges WAY faster.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A
I agree it is very noticeably faster. N3 was decent already with the provided charger, but N4 charge blazes.
Kinda want to get that Qualcomm fast charge 2.0 car charger so I can charge from 12v sources. The standard usb 5v 500mA regulated charge is pitiful
I have to constantly kill Index Service. It's loading CPU up to 100%. There's a bug since at least Note II. If you have large PDF files or many files of any kind, it will never finish indexing. Some reports link it to 64GB cards, but mine does it even without the card.
I loaded the 5.0 factory image last week and my battery usage has been awful since. I am 100% stock. No root or mods at all.
Yesterday I took my fully charged N7 off the charger about noon. I hardly used it. Sent 3 emails and checked football scores a few times. 10 minutes use max. 95% of the time it was sitting with the screen off. By midnight it was almost dead. I have wifi off during sleep. This morning it's been off the charger for 2 hours and is down 20%. I have not used it at all other than to check the battery. Previously it would last 2-3 days between charges with light use. Not seeing anything standing out as using excessive amount of battery. Android System uses the most at 17%

I know there was a wifi bug but I thought that was fixed prior to the release of the factory images. Strange thing is I have run all the L previews and currently a pre image release of a 5.0 AOSP rom on my N5 and I've had no issues at all.
Anyone else seeing this or have any suggestions?
I been looking for a thread like this. Coming from 4.4.4 all stock battery was great, I don't have any statistics but moving from 4.4.4 to 5.0 still stock no-root, the device gets really warm and battery drop isn't very comforting.
I hear the nexus 9 also gets very warm, must be a 5.0 bug.

I was on XDABBED's rooted stock-image, the battery usage was as bad as the OP's situation.
Since then, I moved to XDABBED's latest AOSP release ... the battery usage has been GREAT.
Also on stock and I can confirm that the battery is worse.
Previously on stock 4.4.4 I had calculated that 10% battery can get me through one day or one hour SOT.
After flashing factory image I can confirm that the most I can manage is 4-5 hours SOT in two days.
That's 30-40% higher battery consumption.
why don't you download an App Ops tool from google play store
and deactivate any location service.
Currently, there are not that many app ops tool that can support lollipop.
One from Lars Team works on Lollipop, so I am using that.
For me, google play service was using extensive amount of power for location search,
and after I turned down location search capability of google play service, the power drainage stopped.
Same Issue
Yes I am also facing the same problem. Terrible battery time. I charged my Tablet yesterday and pulled it out at 100% at 10pm. I put it on Airplane mode and went to sleep. When I woke up today at 6am the battery was showing 70%. It ate 30% at night doing what? I am very disappointed. On Kitkat 4.4.4 I never had such terrible battery performance. I am going to try it out today again and ensure that all apps are closed. Lets see what the performance will be like. Will update tomorrow.
I loaded Battery Batter Stats last night and left unplugged overnight so that I could check for partial wake-locks this morning. Unfortunately the battery was completely dead when I woke up. I put it on the charger when I left for work so I can check tonight.

This was a good advice I must admit [emoji4]
I installed App Ops and noticed huge Location usage from Android System. After I disabled this the battery drain is a lot smaller. Not as good ad KK but very tolerable.
Also noticed that my video player, Archos, is using more power on Lollipop that before. I use it same or less than on KK but it drains the battery a lot more and is always at the top in battery usage.
When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the Samsung Galaxy S7's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.

hi there. got my s7 few days ago and it sleeps like a baby hehe 1% lost in 6 hrs

I lost 10% of battery the past two nights. I have the always on feature turned on tho.
The mine 0,5% a hour
Inviato dal mio SM-G930F utilizzando Tapatalk
I typically lose about 4-5% overnight. Not bad, but not as good as a Nexus
I have a massive batterydrain in standby when I am connected to WiFi. When I'm on mobile data I have no batterydrain at all in standby
I don't have a clue why it is like this
I lose 18% over 8 hours. Maybe I'll try turning wifi off tonight. That said, battery life overall seems really good. No problems whatsoever getting through a full day on one charge.

Go to WiFi > more > keep WiFi on during sleep > off
More than likely your WiFi is causing the drain by the always scanning feature turned on

Yes, do try that. It would be interesting for me too to know.

Have that setting now but should not have to. On my S6 I have it allways on and there is no batterydrain problem.
with heavy use, 2 days battery life without charging. and also its charging is pretty fast too
I loose 1% over a 7h night on plane mode.
SM-G930FD
I bearly loose 1% per night (wifi on/always on display). Even in heavy use, the battery doesn't give up that easy...

What tweaks/optimizations do you have? Exynos version or SD820?
I have the SD820 with package disabler pro and greenify and I lose about 5% overnight...

Hey man,
I have the exynos version. Still on stock, i just used "package disabler pro" - as you do - to get rid of all the bloatwares and apps i don't use.
Oh, and i don't know if that's relevant, but i disabled the fast charge, in order not to preserve the - non switchable - battery, it still charges quite fast.
I've checked three times now, i was never below 99% when i woke up.
Hope it helps.

only lost 1% with Always on Display? That doesn't sound right
I lose about 2-3% over night without Always on Display

Yet this is. I just turn the phone back (with the screen hidden) so that the "always on" doesn't turn on.
I am having massive battery drain
My phone drops 20% in 2 hours on standby and I'm at my wits end trying to figure out why android os is taking 500mb of data a day
20% Over night absolutely not normal!
Have to recharge phone twice a day.
I am on stock and cannot apply root (this is company phone).
When I had Nexus 5, battery drain was not so horrible.
Here is a picture of my battery drain
From start I have WiFi on and then I turn WiFi off and the battery drain stops
Can't understand why WiFi is draining my battery like this ?
