Hello friends, I'm new here and I have a problem. I have a HTC One (M8) where it is with an OS Maximum Hd 12 (6.0) but the wi-fi is having problems informing that it is not possible to load the drive (it does not) tried. The problem is because I can not pass it to s-off and I can not find a ruu.exe for it. In the s-off in the last line of the error of <pie> are supported and would not be viable to pay 25 dollars for the sunshine already that due to the rate of change would leave for me in a $ 100.00. I need a ruu.exe or a way to switch to s-off or that the wi-fi problem is resolved.

Try MaximusHD 2.0.0 - http://llabtoofer.com/2014/11/15/htc-one-m8-dual-sim-maximushd-2-0-0/
If you want RUU, not easy to get one for free -
Some site will ask for USD20 for the file
(the bad thing is some of ckpv5's backups are there and need to pay to download where I provide them for free on XDA)
Or you can try your luck with some Chinese site - search for 1.32.1401.12 RUU
I have this maximus android 6.0 and also 5.0 zip but the wifi give (error loading drive) unknown error 1. Will the RUU 1401 work in this model even though it is cnn702? Sorry, I'm noob. About the s-off could you explain the error <PIE> are supported? From now on.
You get wifi error on 6.0 and 5.0 because your device is on kitkat firmware.
MaximusHD 2.0.0 is for KitKat firmware but hboot 3.19; yours is 3.18 so it may or may not work.
That's why I said try it.
That RUU version is specific for your CID/MID
No idea about S-Off error. Maybe after you installed RUU then root it you can try again.
S-Off usually work on rooted stock ROM.
I found the file ruu.exe on a Chinese site, but need to register in baidu to download. Phone number from china what I do not have, I tried extensions and Jdownloader but always give error or the speed is ridiculous and not low. Do you know of any other form or register that you can use to download the file? Thank you so much
Sorry .. no idea .. never download anything from Baidu.
Try copy the filename and google it .. maybe other site have it too.
Thank you, I can solve with your help. It downloaded an OTA but when I install it from the crash. Anyway, it helped me a lot.
Download baidu https://www.crsky.com/rom/75428.html

Ok guys.
Firstly I have searched and read till my eyes bleed, but cant find the solution to my update problem. Here goes.
Had my HOX replaced by insurance company coz i dropped my phone ,ooops, when i got replacement phone it was still on Android 4.0, so tried to update using About, check for update etc etc. Phone kept returning No Update available. So did the stop google framework stuff, that gave no results either. So i Unlocked bootloder at HTC DEVS rooted phone flashed new ruu, killed phone Double OOOPS!. Phone then would not boot or charge. so called HTC not terribly helpful, took phone to local repair shop, MMMM "sorry mate cant fix it" so decided to have another go. I have now got phone to come alive, i flashed android 4.03, with sense 4, and all is well, exept i still cant get the current update GRRR!, so my question is How can a get my phone to update to Sense 5 and JB 4.2.2. The phone appers to have been a Orange phone, but it has been supplied to me as an O2 phone, according to HTC at least. I have posted the Specs below as written in the Fastboot section

As well ment additional info :
When somebody is lower than 2.17 software a JB ruu like the 3.14 doesn't work. Indeed several options like :
Install the 2.17.401 ruu and then the 3.14 or ota up via official updates, or advised the 1.29 ruu and ota up.
Cheers
Edit :
That ota from 1.29 to 2.17 is probably canceled (because it's very old)
Install the 2.17 ruu and then the 3.14.401.31 ruu. That will solve it.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
In this case download RUU2.17.401.2 and install, after this try OTA update.
Hi Guys
Well al i can say is a HUGE thanks, i did as you suggested in the last post and bingo all the updates came flooding through one after the other. PERFECT!!. Just a small thing though, the 2.17 RUU you linked to didnt work, the file seems too small, i did find another one, which did work though. again THANKS THANKS AND THANKS again!!!

Don't think there's an RUU for International M8, what version of the M8 do you have? Verizon, Sprint, Developer Edition, T-Mobile ... ??? What was your CID and main-version?
Else, why not just flash ARHD, it's pretty much stock, only have the bloatware removed? Maximus HD also reportedly worked... Try any of the near stock Sense ROMs. Wipe and flash.

THANK you guys i am starting to love this site thanks again now i have a s-off whit a nice rom yey!!!!:laugh::laugh:
I "upgraded" my phone by removing the carrier ROM from my device and flashing the developer edition based on instructions that I found here. Now I'm having issues getting the latest OTA on my phone.
Setup to now:
1. Updated device id, s-off, flashed devEd Sense
2. Used OTA to update to later version of Sense
3. Rooted phone with custom recovery and modified the system to allow my apps to read/write from any location (I love ES File Explorer :victory
4. Installed a stock firmware and was able to OTA to my current version of sense.
5. Attempted to put custom firmware back on for regaining root, failed.
6. Restored a stock firmware and ignored root rights as I retained the ability to move files in ES File Explorer. (Note: SuperSU is still installed as a system app and cannot uninstall without restoring root - irony)
Key issue:
I now try to OTA to 4.4.4 (and "need" to be ready for 5.0) and I get a Red triangle during OTA installation. My system is not broken at this point, after 1.5 minutes or so it reboots into my current version where it soon informs me that an update is available for me to install (frustrating!)
What do I need to do to make the OTA work? I'm afraid that it is going to be nebulous to a degree and I may need to start over with a fresh ROM... but I'd like that to be a last resort.
Current Software Information:
Android Version4.4.3Software Number2.22.1540.4HTC SDK API level6.25Kernel Version3.4.0-ge224610, and2ABM103 #1, SMP PREEMPTBaseband Version1.19.21331147A1.09G_20.57.4196.01L_FBuild Number2.22.1540.4 CL365360 release-keys

Just got M8 today and rooted but stuck at S-OFF phase.
How do I fix it?
Cant afford sunshine and firewater wont work. .
Unticked everything in security except unknown source. Nothing. Fails in first try. What else?
I dont think theres a lot you can do, I put mine to the GPE edition last night and had to pay for Sunshine to do it as Firewater isnt working on 4.4.4

if you can't afford sunshine then you will not be able to S off, so now its time to enjoy your new phone and custom roms, most don't need s off anyway.
Stock ROM, kernel, and recovery, then run firewater a few times. If you still get the "whelp" message, firewater simply doesn't work, and there isn't anything you can do to make it work.
Do you just want to update firmware to run the latest ROMs? If so, and you are in a region where Android 4.4.4 has already rolled out, just return to stock ROM and stock recovery and accept the OTA to update the firmware. After that, you can install custom recovery again, and install any of the M8 custom ROMs.
Otherwise, if you want s-off for another reason (SIM unlock, flash radio, flash hboot, etc.) than you will have to pay for sunshine if firewater doesn't work.
Really, you haven't given enough info. What hboot version you are on, what region, what errors you are getting with firewater ("whelp" or otherwise), and why you want s-off. For all we know you just don't have the USB drivers installed properly, or made some other silly mistake. But we'll never know without the proper info.
Is the not a way to down grade to by pass the HTC patch?
I have tried but the links to stock recovery are broken in another thread.

Hello, I've been a long time xda lurker (Never thought I could really add much anyhow) since I had my Dell Streak and I think for the first time since I got my M8 I need a bit of help.
They rolled out the lollypop OTA update here in Ireland and figured It was time to update to a stock ROM from here or a slightly improved one but ever since then I have lost my WiFi completely.
Sorry If this makes no seance- at all I'm a little burnt out trying to solve this on my own but even going back to 4.4.3 ROMs I still have no WiFi at all and any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
This is all the info I took from fastboot and the bootloader I thought would be needed

Thanks again for even looking!
First - remove the serial no. & imei no. as those are sensitive info.
The details that you have does not show that you did OTA. You are still two versions behind.
Restore your stock ROM, flash a matching stock recovery (no custom recovery) then do OTA ... multiple OTAs up to the latest 4.16.410.10
If you're willing to set the phone up from scratch you can just update straight to Lollipop using the RUU available on here. If you want to go that route then you can following this guide I wrote:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735235
Basically, step 3 covers what you need to do as step 1 and 2 are already done and at least once that's done if you still have issues you know it's not the software on the phone

No luck, kept getting error 99 with the 'htc_fastboot" from the thread and with my normal fastboot it gives me the error 32 'header error' I only noticed the thread was for s-off phones, I don't care about my phone saying tampered, unlocked or anything but I'm assuming that's stopping the flash from happening.
You must relock your device first ... then try again with flash the ruu.zip
