Does anyone know what the username and password for the Mifi 5510L's serial console is? I want to see what I can do with it-- mainly place a small file on the local web server and change the hosts file to spoof the global proxy configuration file on my iPad (no there is no other way to do this, I've tried 'em all)
Specifically, I hook it up to my PC with a USB cable and use PuTTY to connect to it (COM3) and it asks for a login and password. I've tried all the normal defaults as well as the SSID/password and the configuration password.
So does anyone know what this username and password would be?

I am always having Activesync error code 0x80072f06 , anyone facing same issue? I was able to sync to the server via WiFi till somehow it's not working after connecting to a PC via USB.
According to MS website , here is the details. Hope someone can give me some guidance.
You have an incorrect SSL certificate common name in the Host Name field. For example, you may have entered www.server.com, when the common name on the certificate is actually www.different.com. Make sure the server name is entered correctly.
The Exchange Server name in the ActiveSync settings differs from the name that is required to establish an SSL connection. Correct the Exchange Server name, and try to synchronize again. If you synchronize on a schedule, synchronization has been changed from scheduled to manual
Open Registry Editor on your desktop (Start/Run and type "regedit") and locate the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services. Right-click on the value list and choose New/DWORD value. Type the name "AllowLSP" and leave the value zero.
The problem requires you to edit the registry of the device. To do this you will need to install to the device an editor called: PHM Editor http://www.phm.lu/products/PocketPC/RegEdit/
If you have questions on how to edit the registry file, drop me an email and I'll explain it. [email protected]

If you have security enabled on your wireless lan, you can disable it and allow the device to connect via dhcp and then check the dhcp host file for the mac address or plug it up via active sync and do an ipconfig /all and find the adapter to get the mac address that way. The connection should be named Windows Mobile Based Device.

Mac filtering is very weak security and a waste of time and effort because anyone can simply spoof one of your device's macs and get on your network. So forget mac filtering and turn on WPA security instead and choose an 8 letter passphrase, its the strongest and simplest way to secure your network.
Temporarily disable MAC filtering and connect to the AP. Then go to Start -> Settings -> Connections -> More -> WiFi Settings -> Connection Status. The MAC address will be available near the end of the list.
Make a rom dump with bkondisk and open bk_02_0005.img in a hexeditor. You will find the MAC at offset 0x47e5c in reverse notation
PS: you can also run or flash the USPL (see sticky) and set a MAC address of your own choice. Connect with MTTY and at the command prompt type:
emapiWlanMac 00 01 02 03 04 05 (the six two-digit numbers are the six hexadecimal MAC byte values and should be replaced by anything you like)

I use both
Open comm manager
Press 3 to turn on WiFi (if it's off)
Press settings softkey
Press 3 - WLAN settings
Press 2 - Connection Status
Scroll down to MAC:
Your MAC address should be displayed.
I have my S620 (WM6) connected via WiFi to my laptop, and that's connected to my work network which uses a proxy to connect to the internet. What happened is that I entered the proxy password incorrectly when prompted by IE, and chose the Save Password option. So now each time I try to open a page I get the message "The user name or password is incorrect. Verify that CAPS LOCK......". Problem is I can't seem to find a way to delete the cached password, and the registry key mentioned in this link does not exist: http://thinkabdul.com/2006/04/25/deleting-cachedsaved-passwords-in-pocket-internet-explorer/
Any ideas?
Hey guys,
does anyone know how to spoof the mac address on your phone? I'm testing a vendor blocking system and i need to be able to spoof my mac.
Thanks,
Cryous
Open terminal type in "ip link show" to find your WLAN card; mine was eth0 so I will use that as an example. Enter the following:
ip link set eth0 address XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
To confirm that it switched, type in:
ip link show eth0
and it should show the new mac address. I haven't tested if it works on a MAC-filtered router, but I think it should work.
Found this on another thread seems to work. I was able to connect to my router after changing.
Its says access is denied, even when I use sudo
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
The command works for me but i noticed its changing the wrong thing.
what do you mean its changing the wrong thing? It appears to change the right value
search "network spoofer" in the market. I'm just sure if it can spoof mac addresses or not
Hello, i am new here, and i will begin with this post
What do you need:
Android phone (obviously)
Windows 7 PC (XP are not tested, testers welcome)
X-Plore File Manager
Home WiFi Network
Steps:
1. Download X-Plore file manager at Play Market. (i cannot post links now)
2. Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing center > Advanced sharing settings > click all to on. (if you are unsure / have an unsecured network just do this everytime you want to transfer!)
3. Connect your phone to your wifi network
4. Open X-Plore
5. Set up the LAN (if hidden click show > show LAN)
6. Add server. (Scan is not working on me.)
7. fill in the blanks. path and domain do not need to be filled. Username is your windows username and password if you use (blank if not used).
8. fill the IP with 192.168.1.2 (you can try with 192.168.1.3 / 1.4 etc.. 1.2 usually works if you connect the PC first.)
9. click test. (if connection failure go back to step 8!)
10. now you can open your Users directory! (if you want to open the C:/ D:/.. open the settings in X-Plore and switch Show Hidden Files to on)
now you can upload and download files from or to your PC!
if there is any questions you can ask here. I will reply as soon as i can.
i do all the steps correct, i find my server, but when i try to enter in the server i get wrong username password, i enter my windows user id and i dont have any password to my account.
good advice, but i find the SGY screen too small for browsing my PC.
I prefer using Samba Filesharing (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.funkyfresh.samba) and access my SD Card from my windows PC
wifi file transfr pro

LoL I'm always using bluetooth D:
Airdroid is better.
With airdroid you don't need to install nothing in your computer. And it's better because you can install apps, read your messages, call to somebody and it's all in your web browser.
but with the method from my post u have full acces of all files on the device, you can install apps, full acces of system files, send sms, costomize your phone, you can make all what you want and many more and thats all in tethering mode.with airdroid it doesnt go.for me tha best.and its all in your webbrowser too.
Tested and fully working on vista
thanks
Confirmed working on Win 8.1
however my setting is different
in X-plore windows, the fields need to be filled are Server; Username; Password
[Server]
you can find the IP by opening up cmd and type "ipconfig"
look at IPv4 Address, that's what you have to type in server field
[Username]
this field, type your windows ID (the ID you use with windows store)
[Password]
the password of your windows ID
Hope it helps for Win 8.1 user

Thank you for the ipconfig info; I couldn't get it to work because I didn't know what the server address was. X-plore should include this information in their wiki page.
I constantly get 0xC00000BB error from X-Plore eventhough i properly configured my Windows 7 to be logged in.
Is there anyone having problems related to X-Plore's LAN feature that is not working properly?
