Display problem in 8525

Hi guys,
My phone's display seems to be sliding downwards.. The bottom most part of the screen is slowly showing up on the top.. Seems like its sliding down and going round to the top .. Any ideas why is this so.. is it something to be worried about... or can it be easily fixed..

what rom you have?
do you drop your phone a lot? i dropped my home phone like 5 times and the LCD screen on it is going down on it, i way just have to install a new rom.

i was just making sure it was not the rom he had installed, sorry if you thought i was talking about redoing the rom and that would fix it but their is no way a rom could fix that he prolly dropped his phone 1 to many times

Yeah, i have dropped it a number of times.. but never it happened like this. this has been happening since a week now.. I have WM6 Premuim V2 by Dutty.. Its been on my phone since almost a year now.. Recently I had installed WM6.1 S64 Lite.. But that was very unstable and slowed the phone down.. So now I am back on WM6 Premuim V2 by Dutty..

You should DL the htc maintenance manual and try reconnecting the lcd cables. I had whitescreen issues and bottom of screen jumping t top so I bit the bullet and opened hermes up. was considerably easier than expected ( though do yourself a fovour and get the torque set (torque 6) ) and had it pulled apart then put back together in less than an hour. there is a lot of unneeded dissassembly in the maintenance manual (just take apart whats needed) but read thoroughly and do step by step and you should have no problem. Hope this helps you out...cheers....

Yep.. it was the issue with LCD.. also my screen would go fully white and nothing would happen after that.. That happens everytime I slide it.. It is found that the slide strip is the issue.. so that has to be replaced for it to solve..

Touch panel trouble

Noticed something strange for the first time , screen is laggy and not responsive while charging the phone , I think it maybe is the kernel as its the first time to notice this , It happened after flashing franco-r6 kernel and iam using insert coin 6.3.1 Rom
Is this normal ?

You flashed a ROM, You're not stock therefore you need to consult the dev of that Rom about the issue.

To be fair, I had this issue on stock.. so it probably isn't a problem with the ROM

Yep I get this issue at times as well. Especially when I've left it to charge for a while and try to perform a pattern unlock. Happens about twice a week or so. Screen returns to normal after 10 seconds or so. Weird.

+1 this happens on stock roms all the time. it's intermittent, and often can be temporarily fixed by switching the screen off then on again.

I'm about to send my phone in for repair because of this problem. I actually have a dead patch on the screen which is intermittent. If I go to Developer Options > Pointer Location, and then trace my finger around the screen, I can see the patch where it's not picking up the input. Also sometimes the phone behaves erratically and can become completely unresponsive and flicks back and forth between home screens. Turning the screen off and then on again fixes it temporarily.

Keyboard problem after 5.0.2 update

Hi guys, anyone else experiencing keyboard problem after lolipop update. Keyboard simply doesnt show up, tried everywhere (whatsapp, viber, skype, default sms app, messenger...). It is random, one day i encountered it for one or two times and one day for every other time i try to use it. Tried swift and other keyboard, same problem.

Been having the same issue! A quick reboot always fixes it, but it happens too often for me to just forget about it. It's extremely obnoxious too, however I can only imagine HTC will release a second OTA shortly to fix some bugs in LP.

Same here. I have it less often with the stock HTC keyboard than with Swift, but still happens.

I'm haven't This Problem After Update OTA !
Some Device Maybe due To this Problem
Should be Wait For other Release !

+1, only i had a feeling the issue was occurring every day more often. That is the main reason for reverting back to old fashion 4.4.2.
Secondly,when I try 're-installing' my fresh and origy 5.02 backup I lost my softkeys and the navbar. That a KEY ISSUE.

got the same isue here, I close all of my running app, then the keyboard back normal.

Same issue here, haven't been able to find a solution yet. I'm going to email HTC to see if they can offer anything, I'll let you guys know if they do.

recently i flashed stock KK, and then updated to LP and now i don't have any problems with keyboard. before flashing it i formatted /system, /data, /cache, /dalvik and internal sd in cwm

I am facing same issue.
Solution : If your keyboard doesn't popup simply lock your screen and the unlock it. Your keyboard will work normally.

Touch issue

The touch works for 2 seconds of screen on. Anyone having same issue? Please reply if anyone has fixed this issue.

It's like the smartphone, after a 2 second make a check then blocks the touch.
I noticed that if I touch the screen before turning on the smartphone, the touch does not hang after 2 seconds but after more than 2 minutes.
I'm not sure it's a hardware problem; I still believe that it can be solved by preventing the above control.

Which ROM and Kernel are you using? Should be a kernel related issue, try flashing a different ROM or Kernel.

already tried but not switched kernel,i am running default kernel with jaguar oreo rom

I am also facing the same issue, since i have flashed custom rom [Pixel Experience], initially i was using PixelExp-24/01/2018 i didnt faced any issue i was using for almost 20-25days & recently i have flashed PixelExp-07/02/2018, after 3days the nav bar stopped working intermediately & the touch response only once after screen unlock & not responses until or unless i lock it & unlock it, then suddenly touch starts working but where ever i touch in the screen Google-Assistance opens.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Did any of you go to the lenovo Service center?

I had the same. I used a piezoelectric of a lighter to give static shocks to the screen while touching it with the other finger. It worked.

I had the same issue, and fixed it by removing the screen protector. Now the touch has been working since yesterday

This is exactly what has happened to me too. It started with the nav. buttons and then the rest of the screen. Have you found out what is to be done?

Guyz try a cell ,u know those 1.5 v cells use them as the s pen im not joking it really works u just try once

This problem has been discussed in very few places although there are many people who are affected. Loosing hope.
Can I exchange this phone on Filpkart/Amazon in India?

I exchanged my z2 plus with this problem on Amazon without any problem. They only want a phone which switches on and whose display is not cracked

Exactly how did you did that? Could you explain?

Broke a piezoelectric lighter and got the raw mechanism.
I made it discharge several times on the affected area while touching another area of the screen with another finger

Workaround
I tried one workaround indicated by someone else on another thread. Follow below steps
Press power button to put screen off
Hold phone in left hand and put left thumb on screen
Press power button to start screen
Touch with right hand fingers
It will work till left thumb is there on screen..
If touch is lost follow from step one
Atleast this helps alot instead of only 2-3secs stuff..

Found a solution
Hi I was also facing this problem and I was ready to give up then I tried changing custom ROMs and when I installed the dot os v2.4,the problem disappeared and I was back to using the device normally

Updated it yesterday with ~50%, today I woke up with 1%. Usualy my battery lasts me 5 days. Contacts got mad or something... I'll test it today. I would also love to stop watch updates somehow :/

My floor counter freezes, after this update. It counts floors normally one day, and it's stuck on 0 the next day. Force stopping Samsung Health via Wear app fixed it tho... Still bothersome.

Happened twice already. Expecting it to happen tomorrow again.

After this update my GW is watch only. Something wrong with firmware, alti barometer app disable gyroscope sensor, count floors, steps doesn't work anymore. Wake up gest not working. Battery drained also. Tried factory reset but no effect.

Ffs, my contacts app still messing up battery. Factory reset and trying to revert to previous CSD6.

Very strange. Yesterday was my GW updated but i didnt charge it after update. Today my watch didnt work, discharged on 0% and turn off. After full charge, everything work ok again.
Edit: worked 2 hours and the same problem again.

Seems like factory reset of the watch was enough. I stayed on latest fw, did reset and few days later battery acts normal.

I would say the update brings no noticeable changes regarding responsivness or battery life. You would probably be fine with it. Just keep in mind if you encounter issues, like myself above, factory reset the watch and restore it from cloud.
So far so good. Unfortunate I had to mess with factory reset.
