Does anyone else get the letters "ty" when you open the keyboard?

It happens to me quite a bit when i open up the keyboard..sometimes i'll get just a "t", lots of times "ty." I don't think it's a coincidence that they happen to be the 2 top most centered keys, but I don't think the casing is rubbing and pressing the buttons. Is anyone else experiencing this? It is pretty annoying cause you always have to delete them before you type anything

i get them as well since i last updated (CRC r11.0)

Mine does it as well using TNT's Rom. I don't think it's rom related, as every ROM I've used has done this.
It may not look like it, but I'm betting your casing it rubbing. I know mine is by using dry erase marker and seeing the transfer on the T and Y keys.

Yea, sitting here playing with mine, you're right, only sometimes. Seems it depends how I open the slide, how it torques, etc.

Hello Together,
I think it is a hardware problem. When push with your thumbs on the bottom of the screen while you slide out the keyboard (this is my normal methode to slide it out) you push the characters T and Y because they are in the middle of the upper row.
I wonder if it is possible to lock the buttons (in software) till the slider is out completely (when the screen rotates). Does anyone know a register or software solution?

yes its a hardware problem...your keyboard cable is a bit loose probably...
you have to take your phone apart to fix that
its the bottom left ribbon cable with a flat silver plate that u need to unplug when u seperate the motherboard
and the screen rotation is activated by some magnetic thingy if i remember correctly

Start Menu problem- opens when tapping screen anywhere

Hi,
Every second or third time I tap my screen wherever it opens the start menu instead of touching the area I want.
Is this a config problem, a WM61 build problem, or maybe a problem linked to my HardSPL, or is it a harware problem?
I had this problem with different ROMS, and different screens.

Search for TopBar 0.10 it's a fix for big finger on today screen that made pop up the start menu, you can edit it in registry. Go there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=370478

It seems it's because you have dust under the edges of the mobile screen.
Anybody can confirm it ?

I report the same here. Also HTC3600. I just doubt its problem with dust. I guess its the touchscreen or some sort of WM setts.
It happens when I hit larger area. Eg with whole finger. Not just nail, which is OK.
It cant happen with multitouch if Im right.
Soo.. if there is some solution, help someone Its annoying "feature".

everyone, installed Topbar but still have the same problem.
So it must be a hardware problem, and since it happened with several screens, it must be on the motherboard, not the screen itself?
Or maybe it's because of my hardspl (very early version before WM61 came out)?

I had a similar issue. After reading around I followed someone's advice. I don't know if this will help you but it worked for me:
1. Remove any screen protector you may have on.
2. Place a credit card under the edges of the screen frame and press it upwards slightly. Work your way around all the edges of the screen frame, lifting it up gently to release pressure.
3. Not only can a lot of dust build up under the frame, it can also sometimes bend down so that it actually makes contact with the screen when you press an area elsewhere on the screen.
After 10 minutes or so of bending, the screen suddenly started working again, but it was all out of sync. So, I reset the screen configuration with taps (like you do after a flash). Once I did that it was perfect again and has never troubled me since.
This may not be the problem in your case, but may be worth a try.

topbar did not work for me, and I ended up buying a new screen on ebay;
installed new screen, and, problem gone!
Not all screens on ebay are good quality, careful!
the one I found has good very screens is joeweiderx

[Q] Keyboard messed up

I did do a search and didn't find anything about this. Some of my letters on the on screen keyboard on my evo dont work. Like the letter C and R and but when i do landscape they work but 1 or 2 others don't. it's not cause of the screen i dont think cause i can touch the same spot on the screen for an icon and it works.. I am new to android so i was not sure but i know the phone was already rooted and flashed before i bought it , it has Myn’s Warm TwoPointTwo - [RLS 5 - 01/07/2011] i did reflash it with that and a diffrent one but still the same thing. Any idea's?? thank you

Try downloading another keyboard from the market and see if you run into the same problem. Try smart keyboard ... they have a free one and you can do that for testing purposes. If the new keyboard works you might try flashing a different rom.

Well i did install it and same thing but i did mark the spot better and went to another screen page and when i pressed that spot nothing could not do a shortcut and when i went to the calender the day that matched up to the spot i could not select it .. For all 3 or 4 spots. Strange that no cracks or anything and that mant spots on the screen messed up.

ahhh that sucks you got some dead spots. Time to flash the stock rom back on and take it in for a screen replacement.

Ok i called sprint and even though i am not the oringnal owner , as long as it is brought back to stock its a $35 dollar charge . ok now ill have to get it un rooted and flashed back to stock. Not sure if i will atempet it but will see . guys by the house do it for $20 so might be safe to have it done by them.. ok sounds like a plan. thanks again and have a good one

Have anyone notised this problem with Z1C?
I received my Z1C 4 days ago and this has happened once every day. It seems to appear when trying to unlock the phone and all of a sudden it goes mad and nothing seems to happen when touching the screen. Otherwise the device seems to work fine. But do you guys think this is a software issue that can be fixed at next update or do you think I need to RMA?

This looks like a software issue to me... Try to factory reset your device and if it still persist reflash it with PC Companion it should fix the issue. A hardware defect can't make a phone like that don't worry

I cannot se anykind of app that I installed that would mess up the device like that? Ive installed about 15 apps and mostly "stand alone" apps like skype, sofascore and MX player. The app that closest could affect the UI is then maybe Nova launcher (got the prime verision) but I dont think it would mess up the lockscreen like that? (Or atleast it havent on any of my other devices, always felt solid and worked perfect)

It's not always about apps you installed though... There could be data files from system apps that got corrupted and caused the issue.

Do you have glove mode on at all? The screen is very sensitive, it could be some conductive dirt on the screen. I tested my Z1C in the shower, a drop of water rolling down the screen is enough to open the notification area or scroll a website in chrome.

I think this is a hardware issue.
This happens more often if you use some sort of flip case (I had roxfit).
Now I have only a screen protector with hardcase i have still lockscreen ghost touches but less.
To fix it just clean the display with cloths or something you prefer.

Okay, this is starting to be interesting. I actually did a factory reset three days ago and now this phenomenon haven't happened since before the reset. Though I must admit that Im not sure if I noticed the problem before mounting the Muvit Easy Folio case since I got the case the day after I got the phone. Unfortunately I have not had time to reinstall all apps that I had before the factory reset so for now my phone is not really comparable with the device it was three days ago. After the weekend I will probably know more since I will have had more time testing and installing all the former apps (then I can uncheck that variable). I hope its not the case since I have not found any other case that's lime and also cover the screen, though It also looks like a possible troublemaker (according to delimanyak23 and the thread)
time will show, I'll be back when Ive done some more research

This happened to me but in homescreen. I just turned off the screen. Wipe the screen with my tshirt for 2-3 secs and viola problem gone. Weird but it works

My wife also has that issue. Her phone was factory reset but still the same and as it was seen by the shop who sold it to us, the phone will be replaced today. We will see if it happens with the new phone.
Nb : glove mode is off, no screen-protection used, a protectiln case is used but i don't know what model it is. I'll you the update after trsting the new phone.

Mate 20 X Unresponsive Screen

Hello guys!
I have bought a brand new Mate 20 X just 3 days ago!
I noticed that some times I click something and it wont do anything or do it with delay and sometimes I click on something and it vibrates like it did it but nothing happened (like home button for example).
Does anyone else face this issue? do you know how to fix it?

Nothing here, I also use the gestures so never use the home button. Is it specific apps that cause issues or just in general?

Yep, it happens to me quite frequently. I don't think it has anything to do with the screen though. Do you have a nano memory card? Are you stock? What apps have you installed? What browser do you use? Mine started doing it after the 192 update (I think) and has been doing it ever since whether I'm on stock or on a custom rom. You'll tap a program and see that it selected but sometimes it takes like five to ten seconds to open.

All stock, latest update no unlocked bootloader (EVR-L29)
I disabled all gestures, I dont have a nano memory card, its not app related, it even happens on the notifications tray when I try to reply to someone but the button doesnt work. even when I type there is a delay that make me miss some clicks I have done

yes, from recovery. didnt help
also scrolling is very slow compared to other phones even when scrolling the fastest I can its very slow.

sometimes when I touch with 2 fingers to zoom (for example on a document) it just stays on zoom mode even when I touch with 1 finger (so when I try to move around it will change the size like a 2 fingers gesture).
scrolling is way slower than any other phone I tested, has anyone else noticed that?

Take screen protector off and clean it might be smudged . Maybe you could try glove mode it's more sensitive in settings

It's not a screen issue, it's a software issue.

tried both, didnt help.

I thought I was the only one with this issue.
After flashing the Resurrection Remix rom I have never encountered this problem.
I'll be going back to stock soon so I'll see if the problem still exists.

Mine works perfectly. Even with the protective film scratched. Worked perfectly with my previous screen protector, a tempered glass type. I have the chinese EVR-TL00 midnight blue model. Everything stock, no root.

You're not alone, this is happening to me as well on the EVR-L29. In my experience it is most noticeable when tap typing and a letter I tapped on does not register. Also, once in a while when I tap on an app to open it nothing happens and I'll have to tap it again for it to open. It's a mild annoyance for me, but not to the point of ruining the experience. I'm hoping a future software update addresses this, unless it's hardware related. I love the phone, but this is probably my biggest gripe outside of the possibility of no future upgrades in Huawei's spat with the US.
