Hey guys, since I upgraded to Android 7.1 my Deep sleep doesn't work anymore. I tried CM14, CypherOS and AICP. I had nearly the same Apps installed when I was using Android 6.0.1
Any ideas what could help. I turned off all the notifications in various apps. Screenshots are from last night.

As you can see,
Most of your wake up is from google play services,
So you need to tame it,
Too bad no xposed support in 7.1 yet,
So no greenify no amplify and whatsoever

It's "Google Play Services"
And since its system app, you need to be rooted to do something with it.
Try install greenify and greenify Google Play Service
Did u plug into USB into computer / Android auto where mtp mode is activated?
If so, u need to restart to remove the wake lock. I am having this plug in 14.1 cm
Try restriction of background data for play services
Any apk similar to "CpuSpy" avaliable to android 7 ?
I had the same issue. I deleted the data of play services and did a reboot. After that there is no battery drain anymore.
I had this on oxygenos 4.0.1

I did a fresh .230 flash on my ZL and tried just about every combination possible of known fixes to avoid the battery drain on the 5.0 services release. I can confirm that the drain issue is still very much present and the only real way to get rid of it is to downgrade to another release.
I downgraded to .101 and now when I awake in the morning my phone's battery shows 99% full instead of the 86% I was receiving constantly on the .230 release with the exact same settings.

Or... you can disable location services, or enable only location by GPS, and reboot your phone. And never allow Google to get your location with wifi or cell connection, in Chrome, Maps, weather widgets that try to locate automatically and so on.
This will also do the trick, without needing a downgrade. But still, you will lose some functionality.

This new version of Google Play Services, 5.0.88.
I have installed it manually, and enabled location again, using GPS and wifi/phone networks. I have runned Google Maps, Chrome, Google Now and some other apps that ask for the location.
Until now, there's no abnormal battery draining. My ZL is not awake all the time, as it was with KitKat ROM and older versions of Google Play Services such as 5.0.84.
Need new download link folks, old one's busted.
5.0.88: http://d-h.st/qKw
Will be testing in a few hours.
does it work?
does it?
I did not have the battery drain problem with my ZR on 4.4.2 at all, untill suddenly last night, battery usage 91% google play services, phone awake time more than 7 hours while i was asleep and an empty battery when i woke up.
So, until this morning i thought i was lucky, but now i have the same problem as many of us, sooo: does it help this 5.0.88 update?
thanks
update after 3 hours: well, too bad i t doesnt. Battery usage 52% google play services, phone awake time 2,4 hours of 2.5 in total, battery drain 31% in 2,5 hours, so without doing anything. With activities like calls, internet etcétera my battery will last at most 5 hours at full charge.
so, worhtless update.
Who is going to bring the solution? .
Installed this morning version 5.0.88. After driving home, with GPS running and plugged to a charger, I did have again a wakelock.
It seems the wakelock starts after charging and I suppose even when charging and using the GPS at the same time.
A few days using version 5.0.88 now.
No, it doesn't solve the issue. It's better, actually, but I still get some wakelocks from Google Play Services that keep my ZL awake. I don't know what triggers them, can't find out. I have to investigate more.
What freaks me out is that sometimes, after a big period awake (let's say, two or three hours), the phone enters deep sleep by itself. But sometimes, even if I kill all Google Play Services and apps that must be using location, and disable location, my ZL still goes on awake. I have to reboot to get it normal again.
I just did a roll-back, I have the impression I do have again a lot more difficulties to get GPS locked. And often lose GPS lock.
I will see if GPS is better again with 5.0.84
Hello, my wifes z1c has some serious batterydrain problems. This is over night and it lost almost 30%
I searched the forum but did not trust any of the suggestions.
I first tought it was a deepsleep problem but that doesnt seem to be the case. Wifi is active but i havent connected it to any network.
Xperia compact battery drain deep sleep problem fix solution
I also have this problem. It should get a lot better if you connect to a wifi network.
I am still investigating what's happening. :-/
Its a hard problem, not only in CM11 and nobody can solve this for evvery time.
This issue (batterydrain with a perfect working deepsleep) come on all devices and all Rom after days or weeks.
Most time a simple restart help.
If not, go to recovery and wipe cache and dalvikcache, then Power off and charge offline to 100%.
If this also not help you need a other kernel.
it looks like Google Play Services is the problem. You can try installing the app Disable Service from Google Play(You must be rooted), and disable following services:
com.google.android.gms.config.ConfigFetchService
com.google.android.gms.auth.be.proximity.authorization.userpresence.UserPresenceService
after installing, open the app and go to the System tab and find Google Play Services, press it and search for those two services and disable them. This has taken away battery drain from my phone.
Hope it helps
Here screenshoot from stock. All time screen of sleep perfect, but once drain the tha accu and other time not. All time BBS, Wakelockdetektor or other such apps show now abnormal wakelock.
The only idea i have is that google protect to log "PlayServices" with such apps and the Services also drain if CPU sleep deep.

Sorry for the very late answer, but i have not been here for a looong time. I just checked my phone and i am missing those services too. I guess they were removed/changed due to a Google Play Services update. However if you still have battery drain, try to reboot your phone, open the app Disable Service (Google Play), go to the System tab, find Google Play services and then search for SystemUpdateService. Enable it, wait a couple of seconds, and then disable it again (if i remember correctly, this service is disabled by default in custom roms, since they are not supposed to update the same way as stock roms do). I have to do this every time my phone has been turned of or rebooted, but it stops the SystemUpdateService from keeping my phone awake all the time.

Haven't seen any other reports of this so I guess it may just be me, but when the latest CM update came out on 6/19, I installed superSU and flashed the latest update of CM and since then I've had intermittent problems with google services eating the battery on my phone.
It'll last for 30 or 60 minutes then go away but during that time battery app shows google services using 60% of battery, and it is draining around 1% of the battery every other minute. The only app I downloaded since the update was Hulu and that had already been on my phone, I just reinstalled to see if casting would work.
Anyone have any insight?
Known issue, but my issue had stopped (for now at least) since the latest GServices update (9.2.25 (036-124593566) but that might be a temp result of the update, only time will tell but it has been about 4 days.
The only way I have found to quickly stop the draining is go to the app details and force stop services. This will reset it to normal power consumption...until it starts again (no idea what triggers it).
I'm running 9.2.56 (a newer version?) Issue is happening now. Didn't give me option to force stop services in app settings though.

Sorry must have been a typo, running 9.2.56 (036-124593566)
When this issue started to occur I started using this app to quickly get to the App Info to force stop it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.weberdo.apps.serviceinfo
I should have added that in order to Force Stop GP Services you need to disable it as a device administrator (which will disable Android Device Manager for that device I believe).
I had the same problem. Then i remove the update of g play services, i buy greenify donate version with xposed, i ibernate g play services. Now i haven't this problem
Hi guys
Im having a huge battery drain since I'm on Nougat, and it's because of the android system itself. Not because of an app or whatever. Indeed, in like 3 hours I lost almost 40% only using Spotify.
Here is a screenshot -> http://imgur.com/a/24874
I know there is a ton of posts like that but I believe that battery drain-related problems are user specific, so..
And I'm on full stock. No rom, not rooted

Here's what happened on my 5X, I got mine new about 2 months ago, had 6.0.1 and battery life was great with amazing stand-by time. Soon after, I got the final update of 7.0 Nougat, everything was fine and battery life was slightly better than before. About 2 weeks later, my phone started draining battery when idle with nothing turned on. I tried recalibrating the battery, doing a hard reset and nothing worked, it was still draining battery when idle (I lose about 25-40% over night every time) So I tried fixing this drain issue myself and here's what I did: I rooted the phone, flashed back to 6.0.1 only to find out that that idle drain is still there (I wiped cache and everything) When that didn't work I tried Cyanogenmod 13, the drain is still there. So I read about different kernels, and I flashed back to stock 6.0.1 with ElementalX Kernel and that didn't change a thing. I am currently on 7.0 rooted with ElementalX Kernel and my device is still draining battery when idle. I have done pretty much all that I could to try and fix this but no luck. I tried contacting people on the Nexus forums and the only thing they said is, it might be a software problem. But can't know for sure. If anyone can please help or knows what else to do it would be greatly appreciated. I should also mention that my fingerprint sensor died shortly after 7.0 update and I have no idea why. Btw every time I flashed a new rom, it was completely stock with no 3rd apps installed and still draining when idle. (Side note: I live in Slovenia, there are no google stores in my country)
Also there is no damage to my device, no drops, no water exposure. Should I take it to service to have the battery replaced? What if the problem is still the same? I need some help here..

I'd bet you a large sum of money that it's one of the Google apps holding the phone awake. Get a wakelock detector and find the culprit. All of that Google Location **** that they build into their apps just seems to run away and start draining battery. That's why I've permanently ditched having the Google app or Google Now Launcher on my phone.

I'll admit that I've used those apps before without a single issue. But every once in a while, usually after an app update, Play Services or Location Services would suddenly go rogue and it was infuriating to track down the issue. So I avoid those apps all together now as a precaution.

Same here.
What version of Google Play Services are you running? I believe a recent version (in the range 9.6.xx if I recall) had a genuine bug causing wakelocks.
The latest version (9.8.77) seems OK for me and the phone sleeps as before.

When I clean flash a new ROM I use Pico GAPPS which doesn't come with the Google App or anything and I just never install it from the store.
I did a fresh install of latest release of CM13 with the pico Gapps package, the only things I installed my self are gmail, drive and chrome, I also disabled all background processes in the developer options, set the animation to 0 and turned off all types of syncing, even before I added those 3 apps I was still getting idle drain. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm thinking of selling my phone and getting something else, but I'd still like to have the battery replaced just to see if it'll fix the problem although I'm not really sure it's just the battery's fault since more people are having the same issue. One thing is for sure, I will never buy the cheapest google phone ever again, my friend's 6p is running better and has more battery life on 7.0 than on 6.0.1.
EDIT: On this latest release of cm13, I got an android system message saying: There's an internal problem with your device. Contact your manufacturer for details.

Which cache did you delete? Like you wiped cache in TWRP or did you clear the cache of an individual app?
What kind of drain we are talking about here? Few per cent per hour or more? I had an issue with my old Note 4 recently, somehow it got wet and it was never the same. Battery drains in 5-6 hours. Generally, after you restore the software, there shouldn't be any drain, if there is, very likely it is a hardware issue?
Since a few days I have been getting these humongous wakelocks (by nIPCollectorWakelock mostly) which are draining my battery too fast.
I was using Naptime earlier with Greenify, which worked but I usually missed my whatsapp messages because the thing won't retrieve messages unless screen was turned on. After that, however even Naptime could not keep the drain from hogging on my battery.
So I installed xposed and amplify and set this service and nIPWakelock to limited which had an effect for just a couple of hours after which the same drain came back.
As of now I'm totally out of ideas except factory reset or reflashing rom and kernel (which I don't want to do).
I have just turned the always scanning option in location to Off and also WiFi available during sleep to Off. Maybe that will do some good. Does this also keep the messages from being received until the screen is woken up?
I am on FreedomOS 1.6.1 with ElementalX kernel. Xposed is installed and only has 4 modules (Amplify, Greenify, iFont and Flat Status Bar)
Tried clearing cache?

NLP will be fired when GPS is used. Find out what app is using GPS and disable it and check. Amplify should block it. Use a higher value in Amplify.
Are you using the stock launcher? I've seen someone else with battery/GPS wakelock issues and it was because of the weather updates from the shelf preventing the phone from deep sleep.

I thought of doing that as well. For now, I have turned off amplify completely along with Wifi Scanning and Wifi during sleep. Turned on aggressive doze for Naptime. Appears to be working for now. For now I want it to make it through the day. Then I will Factory reset and flash FreedomOS 1.6.1 with Stock kernel to see if it helps.

Yes I read it too on the Oneplus Community.. I am using the stock launcher, according to a lot of people that might have been because of the weather panel in Shelf, I have turned that off too.. Not sure which one of the changes I made is working.
Same ROM here, same problem. For me the Android OS wake lock ended up being Google Assistant which I had enabled via an exposed module. I haven't looked into the why of it yet or searched out if others were seeing the same. I've been using the assistant on a couple devices and half a dozen 6.01 ROMs without issue so I suspect it might be fixable...
