Which method should I choose to root my LG G4 H815? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm unsure on which thread to follow to root my device for best outcome.
First link talks about steps that are in the following second link. It talks about following steps in 1,2,3 for example, but doesn't list all of them. I'm curious to know if by leaving some steps out would I make a mistake or what? Whereas the second link provides the root guide but with less information, and is not related to first thread and I assume is to guide you in rooting your device successfully. I hope I'm not confusing this.

EDIT
I have tried following first link, but sadly failed when entering a code. Would it be best to try second link and follow those steps? I don't want to be missing out valuable steps that could screw me over.

[Q] Root Instructions

I'm new to rooting an Android device, and am trying to find a clear, step-by-step guide so that I don't miss anything and end up bricking my device.
The only 1-2-3 guide I've found so far is the one over at the CM Wiki (which I cannot link here). However, I heard some people mention in the AlpharevX Thread for Windows that this guide may not work, and you could end up FUBARing your device.
I was hoping someone may be able to chime in an either 1) verify that the guide I linked above is kosher, and I'm good to go, or 2) provide a step-by-step instruction set for all the noobs who have no real idea what they're diong.
Thanks.

You have to downgrade, root it.
Check FAQ in my signature. In first post you will find link to guide you need.

if you can help me to do it, that will be excellent, i am thinking on do it with kdz, but i am not sure what will that suposse, i will lose all on the system partition (no problem because i was don't rooted now) or will lose too the data partition? and what file to choose, i think that my model is the "europe common (is D855)" with that i found the file that is supossed to work, but i am not sure if KDZ is what i need, it is?
and like i am downgrading i will need CSE flash and not a Normal flash, what partition is supossed to be cleaning that?

[Q] Downgrading and Rooting

My G3 is the 16gb D855 V20h-EUR-XX version, I would really like to root it but have been reading on these forums that I'd have to downgrade to KitKat first, I've never rooted a phone before let alone downgraded one either, is their any in depth guide's or videos I could follow because I'm not really sure what to do, I don't know how to flash and I don't know what TWRP is , any help would be much appreciated please.

First, root then discuss TWRP and flashing.
How to downgrade:

Same process (Including install) for G3:

Make sure you get the proper files for your specific phone. Don't try to use a file that wasn't made for your phone model or build number.

LG G4 Root?

Hello XDA community,
I recently traded in my old iPhone for this new LG G4, and am so glad to be converted from iOS to Android! Anyways, one of the main reasons I switched is because root access would enable me to maximize the potential of my phone. The only problem is...I have looked vastly throughout XDA and other Android developer havens for root guides and have gotten so confused as to where to start. Can somebody direct me to the right place, or even better, guide me through the process?
Thanks!
(I am using the Verizon G4 (VS986) with Android 5.1.)
DId you have a good look through this thread?

It seems daunting but the first things you can do prior to the flashing are
-Get the software you need installed and tested
-Learn how to put your phone into download mode
-test to make sure your phone can communicate with your computer the way it should
-Download all the files you need (stock kdz and matching rooted image version)
Take the time to read each step, and if you have any questions, ask before you proceed, not after you have completed the step.
Good luck! The group here is very helpful so do not hesitate to ask.

I will definitely look into that thread! Quick question, what exactly is flashing? I know it has to do with modifying the operating system..but I honestly do not understand the purpose and benefit. Could you explain that to me?
Flashing is basically copying OS onto your phone and installing it.
Okay. So in this root you copy an OS with root permission?

Yes. With this method, you are basically putting a portion of the OS on that is already rooted. That is why it is important to make sure you have the correct versions.
Done?
I followed all of the steps provided in the link you shared, and believe that my device is now rooted! At least, I think and hope. How can I be sure? And if it was successful, what should I do next to make use of my root access?
Thanks again
You should see the SuperSU app. Open it, it may/should prompt you to update.
Otherwise, download root checker from the play store
Done! Now, are there any resources for what I can do next?

Lg g3 as death as a stone

My brother flashed android marsmallow via the kdz methot, and then followed this threat to root and install twrp,http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/root-twrp-marshmallow-d855-30b-t3286268, but i dont know what he did, since he told me he skipped the autorec step and did that particular step as last, after rooting.
Now the phone is death, no charge indicator, no recovery, no download mode.
In device manager it shows as qhusb_bulk.
I followed the same guide with my own g3, and i had no problems, so i think my brother messed up somewhere in those steps with his phone.
Can any body help me to revive his phone?
I would be glad, and happy to donate if any solution.
