OP3 encryption and OTA - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

I have been using MIUI 8 on my OP3 for a while and i decided to go stock. I flashed OOS 3.2.7, when i try to remove encryption by "fastboot format userdata" it formats but the device is still encrypted.Flashing OTA in TWRP gives ERROR:7. How to remove encryption and flash OTA?

It is just a warning. This is no issue and from the kernel.
I managed (i do not know how i have done this) to install oos beta 8 with supersu and without this message.
I experimented a little bit. I flashed the extracted beta 8 firmware and flashed the system via fastboot.
But i do not know why this message is completly away from my phone.
If you don't want to see it flash stock recovery
I did the following..
1. Sideload OxygenOS 3.2.6 from TWRP
2. Flash stock recovery from OnePlus downloads
3. Sideload from stock recovery Open Beta 8
Stock recovery is rewritten by new recovery and no more dm error.
Oneplus 3 dm-verity verification failed when i boot

But what is causing this problem in the first place? Is it because twrp is give permissions to make changes to the /system partition? And this dm-verity thing, will it cause any problems if left as it is?

So no more twrp in build 8. you're rocking stock recovery right? if yes, how you're able to gain root? as far as I know, there are no ways to root oxygen os 8/9 from inside.
.
Ps. I wanna lock my bootloader. flash build 9 with stock recovery. like new intact phone. plus, I wanna gain root from inside (without the help of twrp). any help or opinion?
I was on OB10. i unlock bootloader and flashed twrp. after this dm-verity error keeps coming at every boot. I tried formatting to ext4 file system but no luck. After some time i gave up and flashed OB10 again. Any idea on how to unlock and flash custom roms without dm-verity error? If I revert back to 3.2.8, can i flash the nougat roms without error?

Stupid question - twrp and root 5.0.4

Random and stupid Question.
to unlock and root oreo is it the same as normal ie remove screenlock and flash 8.0 twrp, custom rom and no verfy
You can root Oreo even while encrypted. You just need an Oreo compatible version of TWRP that is able to properly decrypt /data like Codeworkx or Blu_Spark TWRP and then flash Magisk. I haven't had the need to decrypt the phone in order to flash and root any version of OOS yet as long as you're using the proper version of TWRP.
With the latest official TWRP you can decrypt Oreo. If it fails, remove the PIN or password but once you're in TWRP you can flash everything like it is unencrypted. No need to worry about that.

Any way to permanently disable FORCE ENCRYPTION when you flash Stock OOS?

When ever I flash stock OOS or update OOS, my phone ends up encrypted, and then it becomes a hassle when i'm trying to not lose data, and all I wanna do is flash a custom kernel to go along with the newly installed OOS update.. Decrypting requires me to format all my userdata and it's just something I would not want to do every time there's an update. Anyone know how to keep Oneplus 3 permanently decrypted?
Well Idk about permanent decrypt but when you flash full stock oos from OnePlus website it will automatically encrypt your device. So my steps to stay decrypt everytime I flash OOS rom
1) Make sure your device already in decrypt mode
2) Download full OOS rom zip
3) Wipe (cache, system, data, dalvik) and Flash OOS zip on TWRP
4) Reboot to twrp
5) Flash Magisk with disable force encryption
6) Flash lazyflasher or DM Verity and Force encryption disabler zip
7) Then reboot and you're safe decrypted
Magisk Latest 17.1(17100) Without Preserve force encryption enabled

Downgrade from OB17 to OOS 4.7.6

Hi there,
I tried to downgrade from OOS OB17 to OOS 4.7.6.
I'm on decrypt while on OB17. I wipe all except internal storage before do clean flash of 4.7.6, then i flash no-verity before boot to system. When system boot up, it ask to encrypt phone. Is there any way that I do wrong?
I tried no verity v1 v2 v3 no works, still ask to encrypt.
Thanks in advance.

Encryption Trouble.

Hello, I just unlocked my bootloader and want to check out Havoc OS.
I downloaded latest TWRP and Havoc OS and followed the [All-in-one] guide here. Everything worked fine but, after I bootloader into TWRP for the first time the storage is encrypted and I can't see the internal storage. If I reboot, I am losing TWRP and stock recovery is showing up.
I can't flash from sdcard as it gives either error 1 or error 7. How can I permanently flash TWRP and Havoc? I don't mind a factory reset.
