Hi everyone
I am trying to install multiROM, i flashed TWRP-multirom, flashed multirom.zip but, multirom won't boot.
When i try to decrypt OOS, using fastboot format userdata, reflash etc... OOS in security tab say "Encrypted".
What i have to do?
If i restore "/data" backup created with TWRP BEFORE decrypt, does the rom get encrypted again?
Thank you for all!
BUMP

From what I read, try flashing stock recovery. Then you can boot into system

Thank you so much for the prompt help. I found similar thread on Q n A forum for OP3 and solution was to just reflash twrp and then boot. I anyway wanted to update my twrp so I updated twrp to official version 3.0.3 and then installed superSU as well.
My encryption issue is gone, I am rooted on OOS 4.0.1 with twrp 3.0.3 official version. I just have dm verity issue at bootup which I don't mind for now. I am sure it will be resolved once I reflash my ROM to OS or any other custom ROM.
dm-verity is not an issue, this is a misconception among many users. It is there because you triggered it the moment system was forced to make "Read/Write" and using Stock recovery. Dm-verity is introduced with nougat firmware and it's a simple warning which has no bad effect on hardware/performance.
When ever I flash stock OOS or update OOS, my phone ends up encrypted, and then it becomes a hassle when i'm trying to not lose data, and all I wanna do is flash a custom kernel to go along with the newly installed OOS update.. Decrypting requires me to format all my userdata and it's just something I would not want to do every time there's an update. Anyone know how to keep Oneplus 3 permanently decrypted?
Well Idk about permanent decrypt but when you flash full stock oos from OnePlus website it will automatically encrypt your device. So my steps to stay decrypt everytime I flash OOS rom
1) Make sure your device already in decrypt mode
2) Download full OOS rom zip
3) Wipe (cache, system, data, dalvik) and Flash OOS zip on TWRP
4) Reboot to twrp
5) Flash Magisk with disable force encryption
6) Flash lazyflasher or DM Verity and Force encryption disabler zip
7) Then reboot and you're safe decrypted
Magisk Latest 17.1(17100) Without Preserve force encryption enabled

Official TWRP will not be able to update with the OTA update, only with the full ROM zip. There seems to be some other recoveries capable of that but since I don't have any experience with them, I refrain from naming them.

So how can I update oos while keeping the root access and not losing twrp recovery?

Assuming that you are on 9.0.2 and want to update to 9.0.3, you wipe system, caches and data (excluding internal storage) and flash 9.0.3 full zip. Then boot back into recovery (without booting into system). You should boot into TWRP. If you do, flash Magisk and boot into system. If stock recovery over writes TWRP, flash TWRP image in bootloader (fastboot) and then Magisk and boot into system.
If you are on Oreo and want OOS 9, it is slightly more complicated. You will have to format data (take a backup of your files and transfer to PC/Laptop) and then boot back into recovery and then flash the ROM and do the steps above. This is because of encryption issues.

Yes I'm on 9.0.2 and want to update to 9.0.3
Is there any other way to do it without losing all the data?

Beware that there are some reports of the requirement of formatting again when updating from 9.0.2 to 9.0.3, though I did not face it. A backup is a must (on PC/Laptop, not on the phone itself).
I don't know of any other 'safe' way of doing it without data loss (assuming that by data, you mean internal storage).

You cant update with OTA updates, you need the full rom.
I dont know how you updated to (8.0 to 9.0 the first time),
i unrooted and reset my prone while still on 8.0
and then i updated to 9.0 with official recovery after that i installed twrp and rooted with magisk.
If you dit anything different you might run into problems.
1. Download and update to the latest magisk in TWRP. (If you already have it installed skip this, but still download it to a folder on your phone).
2. Download the full rom to your phone, full rom here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/rom-oxygen-os-9-0-3-android-pie-oneplus-t3937636.
3. Install the rom with twrp, no need to wipe anything.
4. Right after install the latest version of magisk.
5. Reboot your phone to system.
6. Wait until phone starts (it might take up to 7/10 minutes).
7. Done

Yes, but have a backup.
My ginkgo had stock ROM V12.0.6.0.QCOMIXM (A10) and I updated to stock ROM V12.0.2.0.RCOMIXM using TWRP recovery (twrp_ginkgo-willow_3.4A9_23-12-2020_BL) However after flashing the rom zip, and after flashing magisk, my phone got into "MIUI" icon, then bootloops into recovery again with alphanumeric directory names.
I tried Disable Dm Verity Force Encrypt after flashing magisk.zip but same problem.
I have tried the following recoveries so far:
twrp_ginkgo-willow_3.4A9_23-12-2020_BL
twrp-3.5.2_10-2-ginkgo
orangefox R11.0_1 (with Disable DM-Verity, Disable Forced Encryption and Aggresive stock recovery deactivation all enabled).
But whenever I flash magisk, I still get the bootloop and alphanumeric directory names, and the only way to restore my phone without having to wipe data is to flash the recovery zip again (but without magisk).
Any suggestions on how to get around this?
