hello,
I am running cm 14.1 with the pixel.zip installed so I get the pixel launcher and voice assistent. now when I try to flash stock oxygen it says wrong device. even with stock recovery over sideload it says installation failed.
I think I've messed around with the build.prop. is there any stock zip files to flash? or any other way to get it work?
Hey I accidentely deleted my build.prop, could you send yours please? Thanks a lot

I have Nexus 7 (2013) Flo and I tried flashing latest update using Wugfresh. I have KOT49H and want to go to KTU84L. I get an error message with 3 lines of information -
no MD5 file found
/system/bin/app process has unexpected contents
error executing updated binary zip
Can anyone help me figure out what is happening?? Thanks.
For the OTA to work the system partition must be unmodified.
/system/bin/app process is normally modified by Xposed Framework.
You will need to restore the file for the OTA to work.
Couple of items
I am not flashing the OTA. I haven't received it yet. I am flashing a zip I got from another website.
I do have the xposed framework installed. Specifically, what are you saying I should do with that???
You need to load the Xposed app go to Framework and uninstall.
Then the zip should work.
If not go to the Nexus 7 general section and go to [REF]2013 Nexus 7 Stock OTA URLs thread and download the OTA.
Problem flashing 4.4.3
I followed everything you got the same error messages.
If you are still getting the message about /system/bin/app process has unexpected contents.
You will need to replace the file from the factory image.
But it would probably be better to just flash the system from the factory image.
Problem flashing 4.4.3
Yes, I think you are right. That is what I am going to do.
i couldnt flash the 4.4.2 update, due to the system partition, it was just easier downloading the whole image.
Hi All,
My Nexus 7 LTE is rooted with TWRP.
I've downloaded the OTA for 4.4.3 from one of the posts in the forums. It updates my razorg from KOT49H to KTU84L.
After using adb sideload, the update zip file is transferred successfully to my device, but it fails with the error message
Code:
"/system/bin/surfaceflinger" has unexpected contents.
error excuting updater binary in zip '/data/media/0/sideload.zip
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the update to fail?
I've already restored to a stock kernel (from franco kernel) as well as uninstalled xposed framework.
Thanks!
Install stock recovery and take ota as normal. Then reinstall twrp and reroot.
If you fail update I have a backup I made with twrp you can use. Just need to extract it to your twrp backup folder and restore. It's 100% stock and was made after wiping data. Can't post a link to my Dropbox right now because of my post count but if you need it I an send it to you by other means.
Thanks for that. I think I might have to flash stock recovery and give it a shot, although I have a feeling even if I do that, it might not work as my tablet is no longer stock, since I've installed apps which made changes, such as FKU as well as CF-Lumen.

To get the OTA to work with either a stock or custom recovery the unexpected contents error will have to be fixed first. Somehow the surfaceflinger file was changed, that's a new one for me so I have no idea what could have changed it. I could upload a copy of mine if you want to try it but I do have the wifi version and don't know if they are the same. Otherwise you will need to fastboot flash the system image for the version you are running now for the update to work. Instead of doing that I would download the 4.4.3 factory image and extract the radio, system, and boot images and fastboot flash those. The bootloader did not change so that does not need to be flashed. Before flashing the images I would download the newest supersu zip and put it in your device storage, then flash the images, once that is done do not reboot, boot into recovery instead and flash the supersu zip then wipe cache and dalvik then reboot. Should take less than 15 minutes. ; )
You could also flash the factory image but that will install the stock recovery, lose root and completely wipe your device. If you are using windows you can open the flash-all.bat with a text editor like notepad and remove the -w from the text, that will prevent the userdata image from being flashed which wipes your device.
Thanks for your reply, wantabe.
I guessed as much, that if I couldn't figure out what changed the surfaceflinger, I might as well do a complete flash back to stock, which was what I did. Now it's just a matter of flashing back TWRP, restoring all the apps and waiting for 4.4.4 :good:
Hi,
My Arc is rooted and running CM 11 with KitKat. I recently tried to install a local font and changed the fallback_fonts.xml file. Changing permission of the file didn't happen and I rebooted the phone. Now it's not booting properly. I tried ADB and looks like it's not working too. I think I haven't switched on android debugging on. What should I do? Is there another way without re installing the ROM?
Thanks.

Thanks mate. It's kinda too late, I installed the ROM again. And the next time I didn't change the file, instead I renamed the local font to an existing one.
So Ive had my I317 for a while and just recently upgraded to the Note 4. I was trying to unroot my I317 back to stock and somewhere along the line I screwed up and deleted everything including my backup. So, I tried many different methods to bring it back to the stock firmware and failed. I decided to try and push the original 4.1.1 back on and did it successfully however, now I cant flash any roms or do any ota updates. Ive tried to use Odin to get the MA4 version on but that fails and sends me an error message. Ive looked everywhere and cant find someone who has gone through this issue and that is why I am posting it up. I have tried ADB sideload but thats not working as well.
Error Message:
E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/cm-12.1-20150422-t0lte.zip'
ROM:
cm-12.1-20150422-t0lte.zip
Current Rom:
Build number: JRO03C.I317UCALJ2
My question is, what is it that I am doing wrong and is there a fix? I have tried a full system wipe.
What recovery version are you using ?
Likely you have an issue there. .
Also. ..flash supersu within recovery. ..(latest version)...
It's also possible that the download is corrupted. ..so check the md5....g
After I got my nexus 5x, I unlocked bootloader and root, and finally I go back official stock 6.0.1. But the camera didn't work fine(sometimes black screen, and then phone reboot). Have to flash CM13.
Following the guide, I did those steps strictly. Yet failed.
- When I tried to install CM13.zip, the TWRP told me I had to decrypt , and need to enter the default password which I don't know/have.
- I tried another way, flash official recovery.img . Failed again: the official recovery told me "can't mount SDcard", update zip file from sd card failed.
How can I install CM13 now? Or, how can I solved the camera issue?
I feel terrible about this, could you guys help?
thank you

Update TWRP to 3.0.0-1
You can't flash anything worth flashing with stock recovery.
Make sure you are using the latest stock version "J" as it has alot of fixes for this like the camera error.

Thanks for your reply. I will try TWRP 3.0.0.1 for bullhead
Yes, I'm using the MHC19J build. I still got the camera issue, and tired for that (this is the reason why I want flashing CM13). Do I need to format userdata while I always get the red warning at booting ?
