[RESOLVED] fallback_fonts.xml Changed, and device doesn't boot. - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
My Arc is rooted and running CM 11 with KitKat. I recently tried to install a local font and changed the fallback_fonts.xml file. Changing permission of the file didn't happen and I rebooted the phone. Now it's not booting properly. I tried ADB and looks like it's not working too. I think I haven't switched on android debugging on. What should I do? Is there another way without re installing the ROM?
Thanks.

Thanks mate. It's kinda too late, I installed the ROM again. And the next time I didn't change the file, instead I renamed the local font to an existing one.

[Q] Have to Flash Recovery Every Reboot?

Quick story:
I just unlocked and rooted my phone yesterday,
and I installed Rom Mananger to flash clockwork recovery and i noticed that I have to flash it every single time for it to work... As in every time when I try to reboot into recovery without reflashing it, it gives me an android with red error sign in the middle?
Please help me with this!
Thanks!
Yes I'm a newb
I am in the same boat! I hope one of the experts offers some help!
Have you tried renaming or deleting the 'recover-from-boot.p' file in /system? That fixed it for me, I renamed it to recover-from-boot.p.bak using root explorer, reflashed the recovery and all is well now.

dualrecovery not working after using EasyRootTool ?

Hello folks,
I just spend a couple of hours trying to get some new software on my Z1C. My inital plan was to flash PA 4.4 final, but that didn't really work out. Here's what happend:
1) I received the 108 update OTA. I used EasyRootTool ( ht tp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784900) with option 2 to regain root access. That seemed to work so far. Afterwards I tried to installed lockeddualrecovery using the Z1C-lockeddualrecovery2.7.129-BETA.installer, and here things started to get strange. I couldn't boot into CWM, so I made a backup using TWRP.
2) I unlocked my bootloader
3) I flashed PA following the instructions given in the thread: ht tp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2764775
4) I was stuck with a bootloop, showing the PA start screen.
So I tried to roll back using the TWRP backup I made before unlocking the bootloader, but TWRP won't recognize the backup. I tried putting it in a folder named TWRP, directly into the root folder, interal SD, external SD...all the same, it just doesn't show up. I also can't install one of my older CWM backups, as trying to boot into CWM leads to a bootloop showing the "SONY" screen.
So I decided to flash a stock ROM (D5503_14.4.A.0.108_GenericDE_(1279-6978)) using flashtool and repeated the procedure. Again, I'm stuck with a TWRP that won't recognize its own backup and a broken CWM. Same if I start with D5503_14.3.A.0.757_GenericDE_(1279-6978).
Finally I managed to install CWM using the older version Z1C-lockeddualrecovery2.7.128-BETA.installer.zip. My question therefore: Was I doing something wrong or could this be a bug in Z1C-lockeddualrecovery2.7.129-BETA.installer.zip?

Thanks, so if I'm using Z1C-lockeddualrecovery2.7.128-BETA and follow the instructions from the PA 4.4 thread, it shouldn't matter if I come from 108 or 757 right? Right now I'm on 757, so I would prefer to upgrade from here straight to PA 4.4

I have the same problem. Somebody tried it with new version (Z1C-lockeddualrecovery2.7.130-BETA.installer)?

Use 128 beta and you'll be fine. 129 didn't work for me either.

[FIX] No More annoying Red | Blue Blink on Status Bar

ColorOS users with device decrypted or rooted should have Red blinking on status bar which is quite annoying. So here is the solution, I have patched SystemUI.apk which shouldn't display red blink.
Bonus: Upon request by few users I have also removed Blue Blink too which was supposed to be triggered when Hotspot is enabled.
The below zip file works for A20, A21 & A22. Download, reboot to recovery & flash. Enjoy
SystemUI_R2Pro_Patched.zip
Thanks @gt_ablaze for testing

Hi @4j17h, I was using xposed module to hide root notification, I uninstalled it before flashing this zip, I've tried flashing multiple times. It seems that it doesn't work. Is there any other way?

There seems to be issues with the custom recovery, zip isn't getting installed. Only way to confirm that the zip is installed is to check /system/priv-app/SystemUI/ oat folder shouldn't be there.
Follow this, freshly boot into recovery then flash firmware, then install zip & flash magisk reboot. This is how other ppl did.

Hi, suggestion by @iki_sure works for me. Now no more xposed modules needed anymore. Thank you.
Flash without decryption?
Can we flash it by installing twrp recovery without decryption as data will be deleted while decrypting device

This is awesome work and I was looking for this for a long long time. I had an OTA to C.22 yesterday, are there any plans to make this fix available for C22 as well?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I went ahead and tried it, works like a charm!! And a big thanks to @iki_sure as I was trying R2X2 and after I switched to TWRP I was able to get this patch to work. Thanks a ton @4j17h
