Battery drain - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have the D855 modell 32 gig. I have tested so many diffrent roms, brokenos teslsa validus DU..and many more..
I allways had issues with battery drain. I fully charged the phone to 100. Then when im using it, it drops from 100 to 94 in just barley 20 minutes..and the things i do i just surf on Google then it keep drops..
And i have low brightness..no sync on, NFC of and also data and gps and Google play services.
I have tested diffrent kernels with diffrent govs..and now im using Project skynet and have battery mode on..but is the same bad battery..
Is my battery just broken? Because with this skynet mode people get around 6h of sot..i have 25 min of sot now and the battery is in 89..
Plz help Me..

You can install Better Battery Stats and check for any app/service draining your battery. Also if your bateery is around 2 years sold, it may be on its life end. You will get best battery life with a Stock/Stock based rom for sure.

Thx for the reply and tip.
I had my lg for A about 6 months now, so my battery should be good right?
Any other solution?

go buy another battery

Bro i think ur battery is not geniune ...buy from a authorized dealer only u will get good results also check ur charger sometimes the charger if not geniune doesnt give proper time...also check for rust in pins where battery is placed clean it small piece of paper grit

I have not seen anyone get 6hours out of this phone... If you have sync enabled and with standard usage ... I believe 4 to 4.5 was the max this phone could ever get with quad HD screen...

calibrate battery thread :]
I've never calibrated my battery and I never will. The phone battery life varies. If your phone is getting hot and dying in two hours, you have a rogue process.
Manage the poorly written applications and you won't even think "battery calibrate" because you'll see upwards of 36 hours of use on your phone.
Realistically, I get about 12 hours of heavy to medium use out of my phone. I do not use any other third party apps to manage my phone except for Quick Info Pro and even that is not used for anything more than status review. I handle memory management through the built-in Manage Applications, services, etc. On weekends, when I'm not texting a lot, I have seen 40 hours without charging.
If you only have stock and never install anyone else's applications, you'll see a huge difference in how applications (poorly written ones) can affect your phone's battery life.
See disclaimer.
Good info from othan, exactly what I tell customers who complain about battery life.

[Q] Zerolemon my ass!!!

I am posting screenshots from my Note 2 after using the Zerolemon 9300mah battery for 2 weeks.
Please excuse the clarity, I was using a filter at night time.
Now of course I have followed all the procedures of the 6 charge cycles and draining the battery to 2%. I keep only data and gps on, I don't use bluetooth, WIFI, NFC, or any other bloatware. Screen brightness is at max the majority of the time, and so is sync. I do some browsing and youtube, and make some short phone calls during the day. CPU and GPU levels are at normal stock levels and speaking of which, I'm running stock rom with perseus. Obviously the first...I should say 10-12% gets eaten up in a flash from 100%, and after it does slow down. On the whole though, as you can see its made it to around 16 hours.
Bottom line is, people do claim to reach at least 3 whole days, if not 2, with heavy usage. I was hoping zerolemon would do this for me but clearly not. Do I have defective phone, or am I just asking for too much? Any help is appreciated! :good:
I get that with stock battery and better...
That's not a good for 9300 mAh battery!
Maybe sync is taking a lot from battery..
Or maybe an app using do much power in background.. Or deepsleep is not working correctly.. Low signal also can affect the battery too..
9300 mAh should at least get you 15 screen hours.. While u only got 6..
Formating the phone completely maybe? That would solve too many issues..
Also if there is a warranty for the battery, maybe getting a replacement? Maybe it's damaged or simething..

after 9 hours of work, i usually used 20%.
which is much better than stock battery, with it, it went down under 50% everyday.
so i am quite happy with zerolemon

Aftermarket battery

Does anyone know of a better battery that will work with the zl.
As we all know this phone really suffers from poor battery life and overheating. I've managed to solve the overheating problem by flashing miui v5 and have it undervolted @ 987mv @ 1512mhz with doomkernel and kernel tuner, the phone is very cool now compared to before. However battery life is still dissappointing lasting only 10 hours a day dropping 10% every hour with light/moderate usage. Onscreen time it will die within 3 hours
So I wanna open it up and put a better battery so I can use a different rom cos miui is very restricted imo. xposed framework doesnt really work well with it.

Stock firmware gives me 4,5 hour screentime MINIMUM! So its NOT as we all know. It's your phone and your apps. Mine lasts a good day with more then moderate/light use. 13 hours with 75% left at the moment and 1 hour 10 min. screentime. Wifi always on. When out of house, 4G/LTE always on. NFC constantly on. So its you. Not your phone.
22,5 hour on single charge. 4,5 hour screen time. 8% left. I can't see your problem.

Yes you are correct, Im using paranoid rom and battery life has improved a lot. I also found that heavy undervolting uses more battery life. I'm new to android so didn't know this. What roms are you guys using exactly?
battery life
So? is there any after market battery?
heres my battery life, can someone help me?
I get around 15 hours with the stock rom. I switched to existenz but i havent tested it yet.
And i really want to change the bat.
If there was a way to put a LiPo 3000mah in this thing...
aliexpress.com
You can buy new battery for xperial ZL from aliexpress.com. Not many vendors though, but its pretty cheap.
I ordered mine and it reached from China to India safely in around 1 month. Seems good and genuine, but have not tried it yet. As others have said, it may not be a problem with the battery at all and changing battery wont do any good. Check if its really a battery problem or not.

i also ordered one from ebay it says made in japan now its working smooth and giving me extra 3-4 hours of battery life
after three years of extensive usage, my battery has now reached the end if its life. It now dies at around 30%- 40%. I tried battery calibration but it works only once. after a full 100-0% run, the next run dies at the same 30- 40% level. I have been monitoring voltage via ampere app. when it reaches 30- 40 % range, the voltage drops significantly from 3.5 to 3.2 and below and shut off abruptly. also, now during heavy usage, battery temp goes up to 50 C.
Does this mean the battery is completely worn out? or something else may also be bad?
anybody else with 2-3 years of use notice the same?
and if the battery is at fault here, can someone suggest me a link where can i buy one?

Same here, phone shuts down around 40% and whats worse is that the battery has deformed and pushed motherboard up causing a lot of problems. My ZL USB port short circuited blowing smoke and now won't boot up at all. Tested the battery and got voltage around 2.8V, which means safety triggers won't let me charge it

Is the M9 worth it only for the sake of better battery life ??

Hey,
I have the One M8 and i was thinking about the M9 mainly for the battery.
I bought my One M8 about 7 months back and I've have been having the worst battery life. I get about less than 3 hours of OST (ON Screen Time) it won't go beyond that and I loose about 40~50% of battery in 5 or 6 hrs of standby time. Hell, this one day I charged my phone to it's maximum by 2pm and after listening to music for about 6 hours. I lost about 70% battery with 40min SOT with no call or texting.
Clearly something is wrong here. But... I don't know, maybe it's the LTE network or I was a Note 3 user before I got the M8. Maybe the 2days battery life spoilt me because according to Gsam
-battery life is 1d 1.8h (6h 23m active)
-screen On: 1h 46m (1h 44m MAX)
PS: I'm sorry I couldn't post any posts any screenshots. My phone is 100% charged as of now.
I tried everything from going to stock to custom ROM to different kernels. Turning OFF Google services (Google Now and location reporting), turning OFF mobile data, disabling sync, no GPS, brightness set to 20%, killing media server, greenify system apps and even maintaining the wakelocks using Amplify battery extender and even reading a lot of post on XDA to save battery. I still loose a lot of power.
Is this what 2600mAh has to offer.
Will the new 2,840mAh with 810 processor be any different.
Or should I just send my M8 for repair and hope I don't end with up a refurbished phone because I've had a lot of bad experience with a refurbished phones. I don't wanna do that mistake again.
Or should I get the Nexus 6 and get this over with.

Thanks for the quick reply, but can you be a bit more specific.
looks like you're having problems with your battery. did you try changing it? these are the worst battery performances i've ever seen with one m8. something's wrong here but it's not about the phone. it's about your phone.
and i think m9 will have great battery performance as it seems to me.

I personally believe the M9 will have one of the best batteries in a phone in 2015 everything is lining up to be that way. and something has to be wrong with your phone you need to check that out asap.

Do a battery test
if after 1 hr it below than 70% it's not good according to htc
You could try turning on Power Saver mode, it may help you out. But personally, even with Power Saver off, I can easily get 4+ hours of SOT on campus with my battery going from 12 AM to around 10:30 PM and still having about 30% at the end of the day.
Just for battery life? Nope. For a better camera, better speakers, better screen, better CPU, better GPU, Sense 7, and other under-the-hood improvements AND for a better battery than the battery in your older M8, yes, it's worth it.

Battery issues

Hey guys , i recently aquired an LG G4 H815 powered by android MARSHMELLOW V20g , the battery drains really fast and i didn't figure out why until i realized that the screen uses up to 68 % of battery power , though i reduce brightness to the minimum , nothing really changes , please help
That is normal. The screen using that much battery is a good sign. The more the better.
On max brightness, the screen uses a fixed amount of energy so if you're using 62% on the screen, it must mean other apps aren't misbehaving.
Tap on the screen and check the screen on time. It should be between 3 hours and 5 hours. If so, everything looks good.
Yes i agree , it's definitely logical , but is there anything i can do to reduce battery draining even a little

Even non root try to disable all non used apps disable sync and gps.
Also shut of data or wifi when not used, Use facebook on the web not the app major batt hog
my g4 normally got me only 2 hours of SOT which is horrible.
It's really frustrating man , and i absolutely deactivated unused apps as well as mobile data , sync and gps , actually everything's off , i made sure of it when i did a hard reset , it's abnormal as a friend of mine has a similar phone , but he hasn't the stupid problem , is there any version i can trust to flash , i have a 6.0 v20g
c'mon guys i'm really out of options
update guys , it's about the phone's battery , when i stopped using the usual charger which was really fast , about 1000 ma according to ampere app , and switched to another slower one , after a few days the battery somehow went to normal , can anybody explain why , was the battery just getting used to the slower charger ?
You should buy a spare battery with it's charger. The G4 battery is not that good even with optimal configuration.
Enviado desde mi LG-H990 mediante Tapatalk
Yeah, well... it's always better to use the manufacturer accessories, in this case the charger. Yeah, we know that Marshmallow uses more battery than Lollipop but the difference is not that obvious if you use the right charger. I've tested and Marshmallow cuts my SOT with roughly 40-50 mins...
That's the real problem , it's when you don't have the original charger , or let's just say you have no idea if the seller would give it to you as the phone was being used , you definitely have to figure out how to pick the appropriate one , any ideas ?
c'mon guys there must be a way to distinguish between a fake and an original charger , for example through monitoring amperage or may be voltage , i just need some clue , anything !
