Battery life is probably the most common concern for smartphone users: some are finding it hard to get through a full day on a single charge, others find that after a year or so of use, their battery drains much faster than before, and the issues just keep lining up.
AccuBattery is a relatively new battery life monitor for Android devices (it supports the latest Samsung Galaxy S7s, Google Pixels, and so on) that focuses on accurate battery stats, but also on a research-based suggestion to avoid fully charging your battery.
AccuBattery allows you to set alarm that you actually charge your battery to 80%(Can be modified) and comes with clever tools to let you know when you've reached that level, so that you can unplug. This way, you can get the full 500 cycles(More than 1000, if you charge from 30 to 80 ) out of your battery, until you start to see a noticeable drop in battery life.
I still have my two year old Z2. It still holds battery like a new phone( with slight less capacity due to heat generated due to flashing roms). I used to charge my phone between 25%-80%.

Hi,
I am using it too. I really like it.
But maybe this topic is not really fitting here in this subforum.
what is the main feature of this apps over BBS (betterbattery stats) ?

Thanks bro @Rajeev
Is there any way to allow comprehensive battery stats via console prompts? I can get the estimates, %/hr but not the mAH values. I am running Marshmallow 6.1 it is a ROM but I don’t think it’s custom bad I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo. I am also rooted.

Hey, great app to monitor graphically the battery discharge... thanks for sharing!
Umm, is this app created to discharge the battery, or to see how it discharges?
If it's the latter, good job! If, however, it's the first... read up about Lithium Ion batteries!
Its an App for both!
And again, outside in "the World", there are not only Li-Ion Batterys. In my company we have many older devices with NiMH-Batterys.
And nobody say that you must discharge your Battery. Its only an Option. You can also see if your Li-Ion Battery is allready damaged or something else.
So, its an testing, monitoring and also discharging app.
You can still read the original Thread...
so just to clarify: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DISCHARGE YOUR OPERATIONAL LI-ION BATTERY. li-ion battery life span is longest when charged above 30% (some people say that one shall charge at 40%). discharging battery to zero can damage battery.

What a coincidence, I believe I live in this "the World" you speak of! That aside, I assumed the purpose of my comment would be fairly clear. Many people don't know that Li-ion batteries are different from NiMh. If you post it in a forum with Li-ion battery users, I suggest you either put up a big warning in the first post, or a built-in warning into the app (haven't tested, so don't know if it's there).
Anyway, I'll try it and see what it does =]

Oh, about that, at approx. 21%, Li-ion batteries are most often irrevocably dead.

I saw an amazing product on AMZER.CO.IN Its an emergency/backup charger not only for P500 but also any handheld portable device. Most distinguishing feature of it is it can charge on A/C as well as on solar energy. Now you don't have to worry about the battery of your O1 because this device called Amzer® 3500 mAh Battery Backup Solar Charger will take care of it.
ITS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! I THINK EVERY SMARTPOHNE USER MUST BUY THIS.
SRY TO POST IT WITHOUT A VIDEO OR LINK, BEING A NEW NOOB ON XDA, CURRENTLY I AM BARRED TO DO SO.
let me give you a hand http://www.amzer.co.in/Amzer-3500-mAh-Battery-Backup-Solar-Charger-P83981.htm
Brilliant. A solar charger that -- let me quote from its manual -- should not be exposed to fire, sunshine and other heat sources.
Thanks!!
Reviews on amazon are disappointing. :/
If it takes 12 hours to charge in Florida, I'm probably looking at a week here in Seattle.

I got one like this, tooks me one day to charge a small low consumption cell phone in Spain with a huge direct sunlight ... also, the battery is dying quickly (heat is not good for batteries, and using a mirror to avoid direct sunlight is not good also because the solars panels are getting f* hot ...).
Never used it on my P500, was too afraid to break the battery.

its 1/3rd the price of the phone, lol, fck it.. XD
Pricey
for that price you can buy a basic functionality phone which gives good battery backup

Interesting concept. Needs to evolve a little bit. Good idea for an emergency situation.
what do you supposed the likely hood of it working with the P505/P506?
mAh is hight

Not sure what you people are doing wrong but I get great battery life running codename android 1.3 and Franco's nightly. Keep 3g on most of the time and use 4g and wifi at home. This is from yesterday, wish I could've let it fully drain but I had to go to work and swapped the battery. This to me represents real world use, played around on the internets, texted, and made a few calls while at work and used pulse heavily after I got home. Kept 3g on while I slept (why do people put it in airplane mode or turn data off?)

Your screen on time is very low.
Can someone explain to me why we have 50,000 battery threads? I think we get it! Your battery life is great. My battery life is great. Jane's battery life sucks. Jim can't even figure out how to turn on his Galaxy Nexus.
Stop with these threads!!! And you know what, to add insult to injury... My battery life on the stock ROM destroys what you just posted.

Thanks for the laugh man. I needed it. These threads have gotten so out of hand, it's ridiculous. A Mod should just combine all these redundant battery threads into one giant thread so they can all piss in the wind and see whose goes further.

My phone is very strange about battery life, in fact sometimes it lasts 26/27 hours and sometimes, with the same usage more or less, it lasts 15/16 hours
That's pretty good, I can barely get mine to last overnight with literally NO USE, BUT SERIOUSLY ANOTHER THREAD?
Ripping tale old chap.

Your the one doing it wrong, no one cares for another battery thread.
While we have VOOC and (some of us) a spare battery lying around, we could all use more battery life when we're away from a wall outlet. So..
Post your battery stats/power consumption details along with any steps you took to achieve it.

Here's my battery results after a full day's use.
Stock Oppo Color OS
Stock Kernel
Google Now OFF
Low Manual Brightness
Bluetooth On
GPS On
Keylights Always OFF
Vibrate on Touch OFF
Greenify: NONE
Snapdragon Battery Guru: LEARNING
[There is a very small part where the battery charged while attached to a computer due to syncing over a few songs. I only seem to recall that battery going up by 1% at this time]
Anyone have any suggestions?
After installing snapdragon battery Guru i mentioned verry low speaker audio during phone Calls. uninstalling fixed the behavior.
anyone else.
?
Sent from my X9006 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
That was with about 3 hours of gps on and using Google maps and a route planner for my deliveries today. I don't know if that's good as I've yet to use it like this before.
I have all off screen and on screen gestures turned off except the 3 fingers for screen shot. Auto brightness and wifi was off today as well.
The other day I let my phone idle for 9ish hours while I slept and I lost 4%, that was also putting the cell data to edge though.
I also use the greenify app, not the built in greenify. Haven't messed with the built in greenify does it work the same way?
Tapped out on my beastly OPPO Find 7a
This has got to be a bug...
Unplugged, drove to work and noticed no drain on the monitor.
The phone was trickle charged by my router though overnight, not through the OEM charger
I disabled the gestures, that helped a lot.

from 50 to 100 takes 20 minuttes.
Sorry folks, but there is already a thread for this here...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2750001
Custom kernels for older phones had a feature that limits battery capacity to ~80?. This dramatically extends the life of your battery, as that last 10?-20? of charging will wear a lithium ion battery down significantly.
See this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1743977
Im a heavy user, I intend on keeping my HTC 10 for a long time, and I'd like the battery to hold a decent charge 2 years from now.
But after trying a few, I haven't found a kernel/ROM for my HTC 10 that supports this feature...
TL;DR Does anyone know of an HTC 10 kernel that lets you limit the battery capacity?

Make a request to an existing kernel developer to add this as a feature to their kernel.

Aaaaannnndddd it does work on the HTC 10
But if you deactivate charging it STILL shows as the phone charging and STILL has 7V on the Charger, but it draws 0.001Ampere so it's not charging.
Btw:
echo 1000000 > /sys/class/power_supply/battery/constant_charge_current_max
Needs to be typed every time you connect a Charger.

Ohhh, that's why the app crashed xD
I guess any terminal should work.
