My battery life is stellar - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Not sure what you people are doing wrong but I get great battery life running codename android 1.3 and Franco's nightly. Keep 3g on most of the time and use 4g and wifi at home. This is from yesterday, wish I could've let it fully drain but I had to go to work and swapped the battery. This to me represents real world use, played around on the internets, texted, and made a few calls while at work and used pulse heavily after I got home. Kept 3g on while I slept (why do people put it in airplane mode or turn data off?)

Yawn.
Sent from my Nexus in Texas.

the only relevant thing would be screen on time

Your screen on time is very low.

Can someone explain to me why we have 50,000 battery threads? I think we get it! Your battery life is great. My battery life is great. Jane's battery life sucks. Jim can't even figure out how to turn on his Galaxy Nexus.
Stop with these threads!!! And you know what, to add insult to injury... My battery life on the stock ROM destroys what you just posted.

Thanks for the laugh man. I needed it. These threads have gotten so out of hand, it's ridiculous. A Mod should just combine all these redundant battery threads into one giant thread so they can all piss in the wind and see whose goes further.

My phone is very strange about battery life, in fact sometimes it lasts 26/27 hours and sometimes, with the same usage more or less, it lasts 15/16 hours

That's pretty good, I can barely get mine to last overnight with literally NO USE, BUT SERIOUSLY ANOTHER THREAD?

Ripping tale old chap.

Battery life? and other possible things

I was thinking about switching to the GN from my atrix once the ROM development picks up so I have a little bit more of a choice, but I was wondering right now how battery life is. How long does the battery last for and how heavily do you use it? Also it might be helpful if you post any gripes about the phone too. I've heard it has a yellowish tint, but people said that about the atrix as well and I never saw it.

I dont have the nexus yet, but dont expect atrix battery life. Thats for damn sure. I just hope it can make it through a whole day, though realistically ill prolly be charging at the end of my work day on my way home from work and i can live with that. I just the sound chip is on par with the wolfson on the atrix. I didnt realize how good it was til i did some comparisons last night.
Sent from my samsung gt i9250 which is in the wrong country.
So far I've been getting around 20 hours I think, with moderate use.

There are a few threads on battery life already.
Depends entirely on the usage.
With relatively light usage including some browsing and some media playback + twitter/facebook/email/tweetdeck sync I got this after 1 day:

If you use high brightness levels and lots of screen time you can expect a lot less.

Sorry for making a new thread, I was in a hurry and didn't want to forget to ask.
But does anyone have anything bad to say about the phone? Besides quadrant being low, I don't care about that.

[Q] Battery issue?

Here's a screenie from my battery screen, I know the battery is a common problem, but when I see shots from others battery screen their screen and OS percentages seem much lower. My screens set at about 20-30%. Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong, or any suggested apps/roms you have. Rooted CDMA.

Te longer you have the screen ON and are using the device then the more power it uses over a period of time
Tap on the screen % to see your screen on time. This device currently sucks a lot of power through the high pixel display. You can switch to manually adjusting seen brightness to save some battery.

Looks fine to me. My android os is usually around 15% or so depending on how much I use the phone and I get great battery life.

@rbiter I am curious how long has your Galaxy Nexus been running before it turns off? I have gotten about 8.5-9 hours the one time i ran mine all the way down. That is with auto brightness on and lots of browsing and no games and some calls.
Frankly I have been disappointed with the battery performance so far. I love the phone of course, but just wished they would come out with replacement stock batteries so I can go as long
as i need, without having to swap out the backs etc.

You could always just use the extended battery w/ the extended battery back cover. That cover works also fits pretty well with the stock battery.

Ics battery life is kinda poor

Is anyone else having poor battery life with there current ics roms? Just took it off the charger and about an hour later I'm at 86 percent

Is this another April Fools joke?
They are LEAKS you're never gonna have the best battery life on a leak till the devs can get the source code for the OFFICIAL release.

Hmm running Calkulins v1.2, with light to medium use (never turning mobile data off, wifi on and off all day, moderate web use), I get between 3.5-5.5%/hr. Better than the CM7 alpha, not quite as good as First run of Venum's modified stock..
I've actually been impressed on how good the batt life is considering a Leak.
That being said, I know a kid that flashed Calkulins and consumes like 20%/hr... Every phone is different.

[Q] Galaxy Nexus LTE Battery Life

So I have the Incredible 2 and I get pretty damn good battery life. I am 90% sure I'm getting a Nexus in May, and I would like to know how good the battery life is. From what I've read AOKP with franco kernel and 4.0.4 radios gives good battery life. Can some of you guys post some screenies so I know what I'm getting into? Thanks.
P.S. I know there's a GSM battery life thread, which doesn't help me.
Ill try to help
Hey Friend!
Not able to post pics (new here) but I can tell you with normal use (occasional texting, website browsing, fb, email, and llama) and the normal battery I last from 7am to 6ish pm.
With the extended battery (same use, if not more) I can go from 7am to 11pm.
I've played with app background data restriction (to keep my gb cap) and after using it I found you can squeeze 2-4 more hours out of it if done correctly
Hope that helps!
Kev
There are enormous amounts of posts saying the lte nexus gets substantially worse battery life, about 2-2.5 hours of screen on time for the Verizon, and 4 hours screen time for the GSM version. But I don't own the lte just what's been posted.
SoooooooOoOoOOoooo many threads on this. People listing their usage and screenshots for dozens of pages.
Yeah there are so many threads about this we should have a "battery life" sub-forum lol. But to answer your question it sucks, around 2 hours screen on time.
This was today...
Sometimes it's better, but this is about average.

That's what I get on my Inc2 lol.

Coming from the original DInc, even undervolted with IncrediKernel, I find my GNex gets a bit better battery life and actually gets better signal (here in Boston anyway).

Battery calibration

I recently purchased a seidio 3800mah extended battery. Currently I'm only on the first few cycles and I found an app that is supposed to read the battery may but it is reporting it the same as stock. Do I need to calibrate the battery or do anything to get the phone to fully take use of the extra power currently the battery life feels about the same as stock. Thanks in advance for any advice you might have to offer.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
Battery calibration doesn't do anything. Well documented.
I also have this same battery and use Battery Monitor Widget Pro. While the app allows me to set up a custom battery, with a different capacity, the app has never been able to show a "estimated capacity" larger than 2048mAh. Rather disappointing considering that on my EVO 4G, while it never read the 3500mAh that it was supposed to be, it would reflect something closer. I think it was usually around 3300mAh. I never even bothered with the stock battery on this phone, and I have been in horrible reception areas whilst roaming the entire time I have had the phone. Should be going home in a couple weeks, if I can get the same 2 1/2 days out of it there then I won't worry any more.
Okay. So if there is no need for calibration that means I shouldn't need to do anything after the installation of the larger battery correct?

So, if I understand you own the battery that I do? If so I'm going to take a screen shot of its life when its near empty, I would like to compare them if possible.

BACY38SSGNLN-BK Seidio Innocell 3800 Extended Life Battery with NFC for Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Not sure what it is you want to compare? I will not be in a decent signal area until after the 18th. Once I get home, I can run a full charge/discharge cycle on it a take screenshots, until then i probably won't be of much help. I'm roaming 100% of the time with an average time without signal of 45% right now so I don't get good life out of it.
