Heya guys,
So I was looking at the mi5s and I realised that some versions don't have a brushed back while some do. Does anyone have any information about this? Has it maybe got something to do with the capacity of the phone for example maybe the 32gb version isn't brushed but the 128gb is???
Thanks for your help
As some users pointed out, the brushed version is on the 128GB version but not on the other couple. I'm getting my 3/64 gray colour version today and I'll see whether it's brushed back or not. But I don't care about that as much as I do about the all-black front. I'll report.
Got my phone today. I confirm that 3/64GB Gray version is NOT brushed. Beautiful nonetheless.

Mine is a 4/128GB Silver version and it looks very similar to yours, not sure how to tell if brushed, but from the pictures it is like yours.
Guys I have talked with a few Chinese resellers and they told me that the brushed versions aren't being manufactured even for the 128gb model . Its not so much a deal breaker but having it would be nice as it looks too 'normal' with the iphonish look going on.

Maybe the gray/silver hue on yours is a bit lighter maybe not. Maybe backs are actually the same. Mine does have the full black front though which yours likely doesn't if you ordered silver...

The colours are different on the silver and grey model. The grey is slightly grey and the silver is a more light, silver colour. You can see the difference when your look at the contrast of the antenna line and the rest of the body in pictures.

Probably will need to have the phones side by side to feel the difference... but I don't care about the brushed stuff, mine looks good

In the interest of those getting their desire from mobilephonesdirect I thought it would be useful if someone can post a picture of the graphite model so we know what it looks like (the only sell the graphite option)
thanks
here are both colors:
front
back
I spoke to mobilephonesdirect again today and they are saying that what they are classing as Graphite is the one shown on their website.
Which is what everyone else is calling brown.
While on the phone to them they said they had called HTC and they were told that they are NOT getting the silver one. (which is opposite to what they told me last week)
I think that they've just decided to call the brown one graphite to confuse everyone
The guy at customer support told me that if the phone I receive is not the same colour as the one shown on the website that I can return it.
TBH I don't think they even know
I'm the one who took the photos yesterday.
You're right about the color, I also think the color is more black then brown. If you watch it in daylight you can see a brown tint (the photos are taken under quite yellow fluorescent lamps).
By the way, the silver is not as shiny as it looks.
How come this silver color seems to be enigmatic? How come I don't see it at the usual retailers that will be offering the Desire? HTC didn't even make an official mention of it. Is it some kind of exclusive/special edition or what?
I thinks it's exclusive to some retailers, like PDAShop.be, they seem to offer the silver one exclusively.

On your photos, there are definitely docking pins on the bottom of the phones.
Do you know if the final version will have them?
HTC didn't even mention them... and i'm wondering about the different versions...
robertwebbe wrote on flicker that the silver model will be BelCompany exclusive!
Where do i preorder that if i need shipping to germany?
The silver model will only be exclusive for the dutch retail.
I've taken two mores pictures:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/robertwebbe/4426721923/in/set-72157623606179040/
About the docking pins; I've got different answers from HTC. One said the will be gone in the final model while another person says they wil stay. We will see.
nooooo i wanted the silver version, let's see if they take it to italy too.
Is graphite different to silver so?
mobilephonesdirect have told me they will be selling graphite sets and that the brown on their website is not the handset i would receive if i preordered.
I assumed by graphite they meant silver - but if robertwebbe is correct and silver is exclusive to another retailer, then graphite may be another colour we haven't seen yet?

There is another version that is clearly black, so calling the brown one black would be confusing, even though it does look more black than brown.
What you guys think??? pros and cons on black vs white galaxy s 2
Its just a difference of color..but one thing I can think of is that white may show more obvious blemishes over time where as black is less noticeable.

One is darker than the other
The white has a glossy back. With that you can install ghost armor on it to protect it from getting blemishes.
the white version is gonna get dirty really easily..the back cover is rubberised plastic..all kinda crap will stick to that
There are no pros or cons. It is just a color and a personal preference. I doubt anybody here has both to tell you both sides so pick your favorite color.
There is enough hate in the world. Why can't we all get along here ...?
Someone traded me there black galaxy s2 and $200 for my white one last week. I guess the colors are a big deal to some people. I thought they were crazy but i'm not stupid. I took that deal.

That's incorrect. I'm holding my white handset right now and the back is smooth plastic. It isn't rubberized like, for example, the G2x.
The advantage is that stuff won't stick to it, the disadvantage is that it tends to feel slippery.
Some observations people might be interested in - it's a pearl white color with the silver accents (including the earpiece grill and camera lens) The backlight from the touch sensitive buttons tends to bleed which cheapens the look ever so slightly but then again, I have then turned off using the Screenfilter widget. Still though, it's a sharp looking handset and I've received positive comments from co-workers.
I have both and for some reason the white model has like a yellow tint to the screen. I hate it. My vote is black. Although I think the black one would look neat with the chrome bezel the white one has.

I had the Black one and now I have the White and the one thing I notice is that if you look at the top of the Black phone, on the bezzel, theres a sticker there that says Qualcomm 3G and on the White one it says Qualcomm 4G. Not sure exactly why they did that..
Other then that, the White one feels more responsive and smoother. Maybe they fixed all the bugs from the black ones.
The vibrent screen with the White back drop looks stunning.
The bezzel on the White one has a polished aluminum look which I personally think looks better then the Chrome. But thats just me... To much chrome can look bad sometimes.
I personally think white looks more feminine. But that is just me, and not that it is bad. Same goes with the white sunglasses that I have seen.

use it for 2more months and we'll see if it "turns" black
The only difference I can think of would be an effect on the camera, kinda like the problem the i-apple had
The White Galaxy Nexus is now available on NegriElectronics for a cool $651.50. I'm personally still waiting for a stateside release for the warranty, but here's a video of the unboxing of a white one I found.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdb-QTx_jjI
UPDATE: Much better video now on Engadget, here's the link: http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/13/white-galaxy-nexus-hands-on-a-taste-of-vanilla-flavored-ice-cre/
Worth it? For the price, you can get the CAN Version with the extended battery and cover...
EDIT: Woohoo! This thread was featured on Droid-Life : http://www.droid-life.com/2012/02/13/video-white-galaxy-nexus-gets-brief-unboxing/#more-61225
Only you can decide if its worth it. Its $52 more than the grey version from Negri. That's the price of an extended battery + cover.
Also, there are already many threads on this lol.
No audio. It's the same phone, just different colors.
hard to tell but it looks like it has a smooth cover instead of textured. Might make it easier for those who want to put back protection on it like a zagg.
Wish they made the front white too.

thats what I thought at first too, but when you consider that the UI is very dark and the top/bottom bars are completely black, it plays better with a black bezel as you can't really tell where the UI starts and the bezel ends.
Completely agree . I like white in front too bit in the end it does end up looking better cause of the ui.

I actually think the black-grey-white combo could look nice.
Looks pretty nice. Really wish they'd make a 32GB GSM version though.
I liked they put a North Americian power charger in there. Gah, I hate my Euro charger with the adapter, such a PITA it comes unplugged all the time.
I will be ALL over this once CDMA drops.

Well I'd imagine they will offer the white battery door cover as well. They currently have this combo available for the standard GSM Nexus for $36:

I'd imagine the white rear housing and battery door will be similar in price.

I was was wondering if there is any difference between the titanium silver and the chic white version of the galaxy nexus??
I can buy the white one for less money, and i'm wondering if there's something i need to know

So there is absolutely no difference in camera? I read it somewhere, that the camera took better shots on the black one, but perhaps they fixed it by updating the android version?
I'll go and buy the white GNex then
nope the color is the only difference
I bought the white chic one after my wife bought the titanium gray one, cause it was cheaper for me. As far as I can tell there is no difference between the two of them besides the color.
Only difference is the colors.

White Galaxy Nexus definitely ships with Yakju whereas the titanium can ship with Yakju or Takju depending on where it was ordered from. No big deal though
white ones back cover is bad plastic.not as rubbery as black one so it slips your hand easily. thats the only thing i don't like on my white gnex. oh and i had very slow disk writes first i bought with 4.0.4 rom. but now with stock 4.2.1 rom everything looks normal so far.

Hi guys!
I am torn between the silver and the black version. Almost all my phones have been black, I had only one silver until now .
I really love the look of my black Note 7, wondering if the V30 will look the same...
So, if anyone got the black version, how do you like it, is it really glossy, how does it compare with a black S/Note Samsung phone?
Thank you !
Bought through T-Mobile so I didn't have a choice. They only have silver. I would have loved to have had that blue. I personally wouldn't do black for fear of it heating up faster if I have it on my dash for navigation. If you never have your phones where they can heat up and hit their thermal cut, black looks great.

No. I'm guessing the only people with them in the US are using imported or LG issued versions at the moment. Are any of the carriers even stocking that color in the US?

Ah, my bad. For some reason I was thinking the blue. But no, I still haven't seen the black one either. I just know my V20 in grey was having enough thermal issues on my dash this summer and couldn't imagine what would have happened if it were black. I was also running streaming audio and maps out of it at the same time though but I don't think the dark color in sun helped me any.

I have mine in black. Most of my phones have been black so I thought I wouldn't like another black one, but for what it's worth, it's a very pretty black. Probably does show fingerprints more than other colors however.

It is glossy. But I love the look of it. I wouldn't say it even feels like glass, more like plastic. Mines going back because it's got a dead pixel on screen so that's annoying.
No choice, silver. Looks good though. I have a Dbrand on the way that I might not use. Silver looks good.

I think that's the first actual "live" shot I've seen of the black. Man it looks sleek. The beast in the background looks cool too.
I wanted the black one but T-Mobile only carried the silver. I'm starting to like it as I use no case. It doesn't show the fingerprints as much as the black model, which I looked at in (I think) was an AT&T store.
