Using Flashtool to fix a softbricked M5 - Sony Xperia M5

My Xperia M5 got softbricked while it was charging. When I plugged it off from the charger, the phone had been shut down and I tried to power it on. Nothing happened. I tried several times with no luck of powering it on. However, after a while I was able to switch it on. It showed me the Sony Logo and it showed me the bootup screen; but again it got shut down.
Now the phone does not respond at all. Sometimes when I connect to the charger, it shows me the battery icon with charging animation. It get charged upto 100%. But whenever I switch it on after a charging, it gets automatically shut down. It DOES NOT go through a boot loop. It gets shut down when trying to boot.
Now I am going to flash the firmware to my M5. But I have some concerns.
Will Flastool root my device? I am bit concerened about this since I am still on warrenty.
Does Flashtool support Xperia M5. Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m5/help/xperia-m5-flashtool-help-t3335998 says it is not yet supported 100%
Kindly give me the answers for my concerns.

PC Companion does not detect the device

Flash tool will not root your device or unlock boot loader unless you choose to do so
So if you plug into computer while holding volume down does the led turn green?

Or just take it to service center, your phone is still under warranty and if you know you haven't unlocked your bootloader or rooted the phone it's safer to take it to service it might be HW related or software but its always safer to take it to service...

[Q] Is my Ion dead or bricked?

Hello, I'm a noob at phone rooting/modding, so I don't know if my phone is dead or just bricked.
Basically, yesterday at some point in the afternoon my phone stopped working. I had charged and used it in the morning as usual. I did not use my phone for like 5 hours and when I tried to turn the screen on, nothing happened. I tried holding the button down, and nothing. I tried connecting it to the charger, but no charging light came on. So it seems that at some point when I was not using the phone it either died or froze in some way and it's now unresponsive (even to holding the power+vol button). To be clear, I was not flashing anything or modifying the phone in any way.
My phone is the ATT Ion updated to the latest official firmware with superuser installed. But I installed superuser almost a year ago and have had no problems since then.
Any help is appreciated!

When you plug in your ion to the pc in flashmode does the led on your ion turn green? If it does then your phone does go into flashmode but your pc doesn't recognize it for some reason, download the new flashtool for xperia, install it, there will be a driver folder in flashtool directory, install all the drivers from it, then check again by connecting your ion to the pc in flashmode again and see if your pc recognizes it.

Ok ?
What did you do ?
Did you try to install any MOD or anything of that sort ?
Give some details and i will try to HELP
Like I said in my first post, I wasn't using the phone at all. I charged and used the phone for a couple hours earlier in the day, then I left it for like 5 hours without using it all, not even checking the time or anything. Then I tried to turn the screen on to check the time and it didn't come on. Held the power button to see if it was off or something, but no response. At no point have I installed any mods, CFW, or anything; other then almost a year ago when I rooted and installed superuser.
looks like hardware issue then
well if you didn't do anything then its an hardware issue most likely...try holding the power and volume up rocker for 10 secs..else you might have to visit the service center
I tried holding the power+vol button, but there was no response. I took it to the service center and they will ship me a new one. I assume it was hardware failure as well, since it just died so suddenly. Too bad I can't retrieve some photos and delete my synced passwords.
Same problem with my first XS,good that I had warenty and gave it back, even ppl from Sony didn't know what the problem is so they gave me a new one.

battery possesed

so, as the title says, my zl was fine on friday...then when i woke up on saturday it was totally discharged...so i went and tried to charge...to my surprise all seemed normal until the screen, instead of showing the little battery icon in the middle of it, just rebooted...The phone kept doing that for a lot of time and i was losing my mid...until out of nowhere, in started normally (it had done that previously) BUT THIS TIME, the pc recognized it, and the phone showed that it was CONNECTED to something (the previous times, it didn't...it said 1% AND NOTHING about "connected" or "charging") of course i took that chance and it charged successfully up to 100%. Everything was fine, i could even use it today....BUT then again, the battery showed 5% left...i was about to charge it...and out of nowhere it went to 0% and shut itself down...and then the same started to happen....red led on the bottom...sony showing...screen stays grey....restart. I managed to get into the normal screen...but no to make it "connect". I can't flash, because if i try to flash anything the pc doesn't recognize the flashmode, and can't mount usb storage.
Anything i could do? ( i have 3 different USB cables, and 2 chargers...so i'm pretty sure it's a bug with the battery)
I'm on Stock ROM from Existenz .423.
Thanks in advance :'( i'm desperate

Never let your battery go below 6%.
Below that, it turns off to safe the battery. ( if the battery ever reaches true zero charge it will be irreversibly damaged ).

I'm pretty sure your battery has never reached 0% yet as android doesn't let that happen. You would have to leave the battery off for about a year to get that. What you mean is you let your phone shut down when the battery ran low. Even if it shows you 0% it Still has about 6% left that you can't use to safe the battery. If it's truly empty it is truly dead and can never be charged again.
But still, it is also not healthy to let your battery run down till the phone switches off. http://gizmodo.com/how-to-take-care-of-your-smartphone-battery-the-right-w-513217256

PS: I can get into "a normal phone screen", the phone shows 1% battery left, but it just doesn't recognise the charger, which is weird, because when it turns off, the only way to boot it up is to connect the device...so it's like my phone has amnesia when it's in normal mode.

I have just one computer , but i doubt it's the micro usb, as it recognises the cable of the pc, and because of that it can turn the red led on, otherwise, when not connected it only shows a red led 3 times and then nothing. So, i can do things only if the cable is connected, that's why i don't get what's happening, because it can recognise the cable enough to turn the red light and boot and everything, but the moment i try to charge it on a normal screen...nothing happens
I just re-flashed only the kernel and problem is still here...i tried connecting cable (different cables) to pc/wall charger...and nothing.

Lets just analyze your problem:
You launched flashtool and started a flash session. And then a window appeared in flashtool saying that you have to connect your phone in flashmode. You pressed Volume+ and connected your phone.
I want to know what happened next,
Did the window telling you to connect the device in flashmode close down automatically?
Was a pop-pup shown in your pc telling you to choose your phone model?
If these didnt happen, what else did?
I can help you certainly if you can answer these questions.
How do i unbrick my phone? I can't take it to center because i have rooted and unlocked bootloader.

i dont think its a battery problem because before the bootloop problem, i didnt have any problem with the battery.. the phone just got boot loop because i use ROOTGENUIS to root the phone.
then after i use the Sony PC companion to repair the phone, it succeed on repairing the boot loop problem but.. i notice after using the phone for a few minutes, it just turn off on its own.. so i try to turn it on but i wont turn on it just go on sony logo then turn off again, however if i plug it on a charger or on a pc.. it just turn on normally and like there's no problem.
pls help me.. im in deep problem.
