Hello,
I just got my HTC 10 and during setup wizard, where Sense asked whether to share location or not I chose yes. Is there any way to disable this? I have looked almost everywhere and I cannot find the setting anywhere.
Sense home widget, lock screen clock widget and the Clock app, all keep on showing my current location. I suppose that this drains battery. I would like them to show weather, etc. in the location I set them to, if possible, rather than them detecting it automatically.
Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

It won't drain your battery, but you can turn off location services in settings>location.
For setting your time zone location manually for the clock widget: tap the clock, go to world clocks (it won't work in alarms stopwatch or timer ~ different menus) and tap the three dot menu thing top right, choose "set home time zone", type in your city and you are done.

I think I found out where the drain was coming from. It was the HTC weather app, which updated every 1 hour or so.

Yeap I usually turn that down or off. However it shouldn't be that drastic. Maybe also check settings/accounts and sync and look what all is inside each account and disable what isn't needed.
Also go to settings/locations/menu/scanning and disable the Wi-Fi constantly scanning. Menu is three dots in top right corner of settings/location

Hello!
Is there any program where I can a Pin a tile to the start screen and directly turn on and off WiFi and Data connection?
Also a tile to directly adjust the screen timeout would be great.
All programs I find just jump to the wiFi oder Data connection screen.
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards
Daniel
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1463444
You have to have unlocked device.
Quick Launch (Ultrashot) is a good application to switch ON/OFF Wifi, Data, Bluethoot, etc in same screen page
Your device must be Full-Unlock
Try this no need to unlock

Hello!
Thanks for the answers.
@Budniu: The app is not bad, but have to touch the screen 2 times and the tile don´t show you the status of WiFi.
@plolche: I can not find a download for that app.
@hunkyn: This is exactly what I don´t want. This app just links to the settings page of WiFi, Data conection, .... "Battery saver" is the same but the live tiles are much more nice.
I´m looking for a app like "battery saver".
With nice live tiles wich show you the status of WiFi, Data connection, ...
But I want to turn on or off the WiFi,... with just touching the tile. Without getting redirected to the settings page.
Thank you very much!

Hi,
Does this app work for a full rooted LG optimus 7 ?
I would like to try it.
Quick Launch by Ultrashot
it's the latest release of Quick Menu cooked in my custom rom
Big Thankx to Windows Phone Underground Community...
... specially to ultrashot
@poloche: The app is really nice. Almost what I´m looking for.
Thank you very much!
If I could pin WiFi, Data connection,... to The start screen and just turn it off an on with just touching the tile would be great.
It would be also great if the live tile would show the status.
Here are some pics of battery saver.
But "battery saver" just redirect you to the settings page of WiFi, Data connection, ...!
Here are also pictures of Android system which can do exactly what I want.

With double bill of Toggle, you can go data and after wifi configuration.
You must use Versión 1.3 for Windows phone 7.X.
Bye
Toggle from WPfied.
With Toggle (double bill) you can go to data and next wifi settings in a only one tile.

For WP7.X or less, you must look for Toggle v1.3.
Bye.

I was messing around with some widgets, and I found a way to turn the flash on using the volume up when the screen is off.
1 have Nova Launcher installed.
2 long press home screen, select shortcuts.
3 you will see the Nova icon, press that.
4 a menu will pop up, scroll down to settings, and open that.
5 scroll down to torchlight, and a widget will apear on homescreen.
6 tap widget, and enable the light.
After it is enabled, just remove that widget.

This is enabled on my workphone (Samsung Rugby Smart) and it comes in handy.
Just thought I would share.

Very nice! I believe what you are tapping into is the same thing the xposed-wanam method uses. Awesome on finding a way to get at it via a launcher though - nice share

Our current firmware already has it built-in. If you know how to mod the settings to enable or create a key in the settings database with name "torchlight_enable" and value 1, you will have it too natively..
Use the flash as a flashlight all the time... I set it up with wanam when I first rooted.
Hey guys, i have to set up at least 7 different alarms for me to wake up in the morning. So when i woke up, i woke up with like 7 little clock icons in my status bar. It was very annoying. I tried to go into cLocks settings, and nothing. Tried to go into my system setting and even liquidsmooth settings. Can't find a solution? ROM is LiquidSmooth kitkat 3.2 stable

Get into the clock app and enter it's settings, you should be able to turn off notification (for alarms) in there

I tried that and whenever I do that it messes up with my alarm going off
go to settings - applications, swipe right to see all - open clock - untick show notifications.
that might work, havent tried it myself though

A better question is how did you enable the notifications? I've never had them myself.
I'm just taking a guess here, but did you set your alarms using OK Google, or by voice? If so, delete those alarms and set them manually from the clock settings.
Is there any way of getting more than 3 items of data to display on the watch face? e.g. phone battery, watch battery, No. of steps and current temperature?

Thanks - Glance ticks all the boxes except I was really hoping for a hh:mm:ss display (Glance only shows hh:mm).
Any idea why there don't seem to be any other watch faces that display more than 3 items of data?

You can use something like WatchMaker or Facer to design your own face with what you want. I use my own WatchMaker face to show seconds in bright mode but not in dim mode, for example, along with the date, a bunch of weather info, and both the watch battery and phone battery levels.

I tried both WatchMaker and Facer last year, but IIRC neither of them allowed more than 3 data items to be displayed (or at least only the first 3 actually worked). Have they evolved since last year?

I don't know about Facer, but I don't think WatchMaker has ever had that restriction. I've been showing all this stuff on mine for over a year. Back when I made it, I shared it here on XDA, if you want to try it out.

No limit with Watchmaker. You add all data you want.

I've just been trying Watchmaker. It looks great, but I can't it to display weather. I've tried manually setting the location and doing a manual refresh but it just won't retrieve weather data.
???
Maybe try one of the other weather providers in Settings. I use Yahoo weather, only because it seemed to respond quickest back when I first set it up. I don't think it has the most accurate weather.
Thanks - OpenWeatherMap seems to be the only one that fully works for me.
[GUIDE] Make a stock "screen off" shortcut that works with Fingerprint/SmartLock
Hi!
One thing I've always thought that was missing in this phone was a "screen off" shortcut that so many brands currently have.
Third party options have caveats. Using device administrator locks the phone but disables fingerprint or smar lock, using timeout often didn't work well as the black screen sometimes continued to show the status bar or was responsive to touches during the timeout.
This method shuts the screen off as if you pressed the power button using bixby.
To do this:
- Open Bixby - Click the 3 dotted menu - Quick commands - My commands - Click on the plus icon to add a command.
-Name it as you wish in any language, the name you give it here is the name of the shortcut on the home screen.
-Then in what bixby does choose "type a command" and write "Screen off".
- Save it
- Then click the 3 dotted menu in front of the command you've just made and choose Add to Home Screen.
That's it, enjoy!

Great
doubleHome
There's an even easier way to do this and it works anywhere on the phone, not just the launcher shortcut. I've been using this utility called doubleHome from Jawomo since my S8+ days, and it lets me double tap the home button from anywhere to turn off and lock the screen. Just installed it on my new A50, still works great!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-doublehome-double-tap-home-to-off-t3611220
It's no longer on the Play Store or even supported anymore, but the above thread has one of the last versions (v1.30). There was one last update to v1.31, which is the one I've always used since I originally updated it through the Play Store before it was pulled. This last version can easily be found with a Google search.
There are a few miscellaneous options to customize its behavior and some Pro features that were unlockable at one point but no longer. One little "glitch" if you can even call it that, the status bar will stay on for a second or two before turning off like the rest of the screen. This didn't used to happen until Oreo and later, but it's not a big deal at all - actually looks kinda neat.
Give it a try!
