Hi all, I finally read good news for our MM Stock: it is finally almost bug-free. I read that only the Wi-Fi bug still here, but wait like 10-20 secs of connection doesn't kill me.
So now I am fully ready to update but i don't know anything.
Here is my idea:
1) Do a full erase (Delete every folder/file).
2) Install the full FW of MM .184 downloaded from asus (I don't want a update just a clear install).
Unlucky I read that Asus Flash tool can be a bit crazy with strange errors and maybe can delete important partitions (like unkown imei, lost mac, ect..)
So, can someone please use a bit of his/her time to explain me what can i do? Like a step-to-step guide?

My phone is untouched: no root, no bt unlocked and my current version is the latest avaible of LP via OTA (so the .198).
I have only the full FW WW-4.21.40.184.zip. The 2.20.40.184 (there is a mistake because it is 2.20.40.198) is LP... but I want to install MM.
Thansk for the fast reply. But, excuse me... I need more info!
I am a bit confused between flash via zip or a raw firmware... I just need the safer way that can erase all and do a clean install..

I also updated from LP .198 to MM .184 because I heard a lot of problems have been resolved and I am very happy to say that I've had no problems whatsoever. The sound and mini freeze in games problem that I had on MM .134 was solved as well. The battery life is also good. The performance is good, phone works like a charm and I didn't even do a factory reset, I only upgraded and that's it! Kudos to Asus for finally fixingthe problems!

Thanks for all the replies. I need just the last info, help me to understand.
1)Go to Recovery and do a factory reset and wipe cache partition (OK... I know how do that)
2) "Apply Update from adb" what means? Factory reset will make my phone like a older version of LP and I have to flash first the .194? or by clicling on 'apply update from adb' the phone will go in a "download mode" and so go to step 3?
3) Sideload MM (OK... i read on zentalk the sideload command)
EDIT:
I am now with STOCK 6.0.1 MM!
I got 2 bootloops but on the third flash the phone booted! WOW!

Hi,
I badly need help as I couldn't launch Google Play even after I installed the APK manually using it's latest version. It all happened after I did a factory reset on the phone hoping that the new firmware (.59) for ZE551ML would go through after doing so.
Now, I couldn't download any of my apps and even all my Google accounts won't sync. I really don't know what to do. I just checked and my phone's SKU was WW. I was thinking it might be a problem with Google if my phone was a CN version. But it is not.

Your firmware is .20 not .59 try flashing .22 pre-rooted firmware from shakalaka should solve your problem, follow instructions for changing from CN to WW, instructions located in this forum or on chinaphonearena, it may have the .59 updated today. Yesterday it was just the folder no Rom, haven't checked yet today.

Here's the full latest firmware version for WW (international) ZE551ML version. Flash it with adb sideload in stock recovery. Hope this helps. You will lose all data, including internal storage. So please backup everything important to you and export it to PC before flashing.

I found a very simple solution in flashing this without uaing adb. Complete unroot using SuperSU then copy the file (1 GB) to root (Internal storage) then reset your phone doing manual reboot. Your phone will automatically detect the update then install. Enjoy!

Im really not a techie person so forgive me if i might be clueless on this. I didnt really go into any recovery mode. Just did a simble normal reboot of thr phone afyer copying the zip file (note: I didnt chnage the file name) to the Internal Storage folder then aftr that, i was prompted for the system update. Oh i have cwm installed but i didnt boot or flash it through that though. Ive noticed there were 2 versions of that .59 update posted here. Earlier was jist 21MB and this 2nd one is about 1.1GB. Not sure if that jas anything to do with the ADB flashing issue i encountered earlier with the Status 7 error.

When i got the smartphone, it was on kitkat, i updated via wifi to lollipop, then i rooted it and install tomal rom. I have a Ruu oficial from Orange, but its kitkat Ruu, when i try to install it stuck on 4%. I relock bootloader and install stock recovery when i try to flash the Kitkat Ruu, but always stuck on 4%. Anyone can help me? Its because im on lollipop firmware now? What i can do? Only wait for another official lollipop Ruu from orange? Thanks

Then you go back to stock. Remember, don't relock BL when you have custom kernel like in tomal rom

I was able to flash that backup but i think its no-secure (preinstalled external russian email and recover data..) and i can't get updates from my operator to upgrade.
I can't restore default settings, when i try to "set devide to defaults" the devide stucks on recovery.

Just make it work now
1- I flash the russian stock backup
2- I reboot into recovery and wipe all, then i re-start the system and it was totally stock (no russian languaje, no preconfigured system)
3- i get the OTA from orange and i rename it to 0PFJIMG.zip and i put on sdcard (Ext), then i install it.
4- i flash stock recovery from firmware.zip inside the OTA
5- i re-lock the bootloader
6- done, all stock. No orange apps, but better keep away that bloatware.

I was trying to get TWRP on my ZE551ML (WW-2.20.40.198). In order to do that, I tried to unlock the bootloader using this guide. I don't believe it worked, though, because every time I tried to flash TWRP through Fastboot or the app, it failed.
So now, I don't have any recovery at all. If I go to the bootloader and select "RECOVERY MODE", the phone just restarts and goes to the same bootloader again. So I got neither the stock recovery, nor TWRP.
I did manage to root and install Xposed, though, both through adb. What worries me, though, is that if I mess up my phone somehow, I won't be able to flash stock firmware or a backup. I would actually prefer to have the stock recovery at this point.
What can I do? I need the stock recovery to flash the stock firmware, but I can't.
I've tried Asus Flashtool before, but it didn't work. I think maybe it's because I tried it on Windows 10, some users said it worked better with Windows 7.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

You will be ok as long it is 551 , 184 and above same .184I think was last full fw and others after were incremental otas after, smallish

I did it, used Fastboot to flash .196 recovery.img. I can now access the stock recovery again! Thank you guys so much for the help! This was a big deal to me, I had been feeling so uncomfortable without having access to the recovery! Thank you!! Will try restoring the stock firmware tomorrow.

By the way, rather than flashing the .198 firmware again, I think it might be a good idea to flash "UL-Z00A-WW-2.20.40.196" from here since that will then correspond to the recovery file I flashed? Thoughts?

Oh, sorry, I didn't notice it last time around, I was too excited about getting my recovery back
But what if I don't want Marshmallow, though? If I just want to stay on Lollipop? Do I just flash 198 and that's it?

Actually, I flashed 196, and then I got 198 OTA the moment I booted . I guess that means I've got the 198 recovery too, now?
Yup , like mentioned previous , recovery will be the same from .184 lp

I unblocked the bootloader and installed the Twrp without any problems
But first flashing the AOP and then the Lineage, I had first lost the internal memory, then recovered it.
Now when flash roms mod, the smartphone is in bootloop
O BRICK
I'm trying to flash the original firmware, but when I put DLOAD in the SD i am mistaken
And also with Huawei's Erecovery
My Honor 8 pro is currently installed with TWRP, but I can not install an official ROM or not to run it.
I am desperate

P.S Before Unlock Bootloader , i have the b172 Europe , i'm italian but Honor 8 pro is from Netherderlands
You need to have B172 fullOTA, then follow these steps.
Boot into TWRP, then flash the update.zip, after that without rebooting flash update_full_DUK-L09_hw_xx.zip and update_data_full_public.zip files. Wait untill they finish.
Factory reset and you should be good

Now Phone Run Os , but is a NRDM90 keys ,, don't working a camera and another function

Try Ext 4 but i think this wont work , try the rebranding guide to unbrick

I rooted my phone using the first method (flashing patched boot on A and B).
The problem is that magisk disappeared from my phone and i was wondering how can i remove root and have the original firmware again.
I am currently on the august patch.

I flashed original boot img but OTA still doesn't apply.
The only solution might be to flash stock rom 9.4.0 (July) using MI flash tool but i'm afraid that It isn't possible to do it

If nothing works you must try using MI Flash tool with the stock ROM

I flashed original boot img on both partition and the update failed...
Do you think flashing an older version 9.4 causes problems ?

I would like to keep data
Connect the Phone to the pc via USB in the flash tool must say "refresh" once you click refresh must apear your device with de adb/fastboot id. Then click select, choose the folder you've downloadwd, then click flash. Now wait until the flash tool says "flashed".
After that your Phone must have stock ROM ready for OTA. If you want to keep magisk i'll recomend you to follow BubuXp guide to install magisk with proper support for OTA's

There's no problem it will flash everything a leave the device with stock ROM, i recomend you to use the first way, you will lose the data, but I think is better, anyway i think both methods will lock the bootloader, so anyway you will lose the data, make backup and If u need something tell me.

Today i flashed system img instead of flashing stock rom and i finally installed OTA. )
