Hello, do you think that I should root my Nexus 5X? It is my daily phone that I use to play apps. If I do, what about the apps that don't allow root? I want to root it but the games that I play daily don't allow root. I am also on the latest Android 7.0

Hello guys,
Just traded my Galaxy S2 for a GN and am new to this phone.
Since i allready have android 4.0.4 IMM76I is there any need to root this phone?
What will it add or improve.
Please enlighten me with your extensive knowledge
Thanks in advance.
I still haven't rooted mine, after spending a couple years rooting and ROMing my devices. Love this phone bone stock.
Of course you should. Root gives you admin access to your phone. Do you own a computer and not have full admin access? Same situation.
Its up to what you can imagine and you can change it with root. Tweaks, theme status bar, system folder access, hide nav buttons, on and on.
root is a definite...flashing roms though, thats not entirely necessary since stock is still awesome
You should root it because it's a Nexus

The *only* reason I root is to install an ad blocker. The only reason I install custom ROMs is to get rid of bloatware. So for this phone, I rooted it almost immediately, but am still on stock ROM (Thanks, Google!)
Other people will give you other reasons why to root, but it'll all boil down to "I desperately want to [activity] but I can't if it's not rooted." If you have something like that, by all means root. Otherwise, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Because you can't use any of these apps properly without root:
Adfree
Adaway
Market Enabler
Quick Boot
Titanium Backup
Google Wallet (for those of us outside the U.S.)
Market unlocker
Light Flow
Call Recorder
Car Home
Chainfire3D
SetCPU
And, most importantly: StickMount
After using the saferoot method to not trip KNOX. I cannot get any memory editor to work on my phone GAME CIH says it still needs root access. Even when it is listed in SU. I have the latest version of all apps I am trying to use and have checked my root. I am rooted and just not able to use Game Guardian just crashes and Game CIH says I need to provide root access. Any help or experience appreciated

Hi guys
Been a while since I got my root game on (coming from a Note 3 with all the KNOX issues).
Anyway now I have the Zenfone 2 and no warranty so its time to root. The only thing I want is ad-block, nothing else. Best way to do this?
Will I not be able to OTA update once I'm rooted? If so is it easy to unroot and install OTA and then do root again without data loss?
Any help appreciated.
Install Chrome or Firefox and then install an adblock extension. I personally use Firefox with Adblock Plus on my Android devices. No need for root.
It is recommended that you not perform OTA once rooted, as you may experience bootloops. If you want to root, I recommend following one of the guides that involve pushing the rooted img through adb from your computer.

Search for adaway.
I'm using Adblock Plus right now without root and it seems to be working.
Adaway is the best one I have used, only rooted devices though. There's nothing else that can touch it.
My sister has been playing Pokemon Go with galaxy note 2 (n7100) last month and now she can't login due to new update (0.37) that restricts use of any custom ROMs I assume. I've tried removing and hiding root but no luck. There is DN4 rom installed and it is so good that I don't like to change it without purpose. Can someone share your experience with this game? Can you play it using modded/stock 4.4.2 roms? Or maybe using Magisk on newer roms?.. What a cruel way to ruin childern mood, Niantic!
Magisk is supposed to work. But try at your own risk.

OR you can always install the older version (if they still let you play it, but No Buddy System in it.)
Hi, i've the same issue.
I'm french user, i tried "hide my root" apk, i never cheat with the root it only necessary for me to block ads and because of cheaters we are blocked !
I have no success with hiding root.
Is the 0.37 update upgrade the test of compatible device and made the GN2 definitively unavailable or is the root ability which made issues ?
Thanks
So.. just a thought.. but technically if I am not mistaken.. This sud work out..
1. Use kingoroot and root ur device.
2. Install lucky patcher and install flygps/fake gps app as a system app (this way mock locations isn't required to be turned on)
3. Unroot using the same app, kingoroot claims it unroots as well.
4. Play pokemonGo.
I have an S7 Active through At&t and some of my apps do not work anymore. Is there anyway to hide the root, so that I can still use the apps that don't appreciate rooted phones?
Hide my root app by Amphoras in the play store. I've used it on all my rooted devices, last rooted phone even Android pay worked
