Hello everyone
I bought my GN7 coral blue back on 1st/OCT and I'm using the phone as daily driver since that date. The unique about this phone that it's came without Samsung letter on the front and always using fast wireless charging with no issues.
My question is now how most people getting force update to limit the battery to 60% but mine still can be charged up to 100% and I even received an update around 10 days ago (130mb) for improving stability
Will not return this phone
By the way I have a green battery indicator and this phone for Hong Kong market.
Yea.... I would double check it https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=63uA1YuIa_s
Although everything matches real one, unlike the fake shown in that video!

I have the incredibly annoying issue where my phone will tell me its charging, when its really not.
Apparently the only fix to this is a new battery.
But try and find the original battery and its just impossible. Does anyone know of where I can get the official GSM Samsung Battery?
Thanks.

samsung, expansys and many online stores.
i have one couple weeks old i bought the extended one i have the back cover too let me know
shimshop the ebay seller, that sells the genuine samsung extended batteries, has both the regular battery and the regular battery door, but it is just not listed, you can send them a message from your ebay account saying you want the regular oem battery not the extended one, usually they respond very quickly and are accomodating.

Finally received mines yesterday from parts4repair. Their battery is NOT nfc capable even though it says it on the exterior.
Disclaimer: I did not test it out on a POS terminal, I tested it with my CharlieCard (Boston's subway card). The original battery was able to detect the card, the parts4repair battery didn't.

I know this is gonna happen so let us start it now. The first issue I've run into with my Note 2. I was listening to music via Google Music and I plugged into power source and music started skipping; when I unplugged it began to work normal again....any suggestions?
The first problem I noticed is that there is a typo on the phone battery cavity. It says 1300 mAh and it should read 3100

Why is ther no support for FM radio on the TMobile version according to Engadget ( link: http://www.engadget.com/update/samsung-galaxy-note-ii-usa/ )
so with my music issue what I did was unplug and replug a few times to get it to stop skipping. I'm currently listening with no issue I haven't tried to recreate anything in fear of skipping music again. I will plug in and give it a whirl when I get home to see if it skips ..... if it doesn't then I'll just mark it down as weirdness

My international note says that too.
3.8V - 1300 mA.
So that means the fastest charging current is 1.3A? 3.5/1.3 = 2.7 hours to charge with the best charger?

Ijust don't find the stylus a responsive as my finger sometimes. For example when Web browsing, I can't consistently get the bookmarks icon in the upper right corner of the screen in portrait orientation screen to consistently register when using the stylus. It works every time when I use my finger.
They said the tip of the stylus is rubbery, but when it taps the screen it clicks like it's made of plastic. I've never used the stylus for the first note but when they said rubber tip I was expecting it to be rubbery like an eraser but it still feels plasticy

Samsung has a track record of not including FM Radio on the US release of their phones. Not sure why that is. The One Series from HTC have them.

Well your not too far off... I went to the store on Alpine in Grand Rapids and they had 3 Titanium in stock and they said the Samsung rep just left and he also told them that they most likely will not see any other storage configurations... That would blow... Gimme a 32gb!! I was the 1st person from that store to call about a Note 2 and was the first one to pick one up and that was at 12:30 this afternoon so the demand seems kinda low since they only had 3 and they still had all three after noon! I am the 100% 1st certified 'GEEK" to walk outta that store with a big smile...

Ya I used to work at Sprint years ago as a technician but now, with most of all service centers closed down, they just give you a refurb instead of bothering with getting it fixed... It was good while it lasted but, as you know, the economy is not very well over here... :crying:
I've bought 5 batteries now, all claimed to have NFC but they don't have it.
Where can I buy a replacement NFC battery? Do I have to make one? If so, how?
The batteries I have bought you need to avoid include:
- various from dinodirect sold as NFC but they actually don't have them
- a pisen from ebay. I think this brand doesn't make them

That would be great, thanks
You could try the NFC Info. app for this.
Things to try:
- passports with the chip sign on the front
- newer credit cards
- keycards for getting in apartments
- anti theft rfid tags in stores. Common in the perfume section including toilet smellies
- many book stores put the tags inside the cover of books or in a random page
I contacted Samsung UK directly for a replacement. They were unable to point me to somewhere that has the batteries. When I really pressed hard (because I need this battery or I have to buy another phone) they ignored me. I think they are no longer making the batteries but enforcing the patent on the battery NFC design to prevent others from making them. The only people claiming to make them now as a result are fakers. This is anticompetitive of course and it means that if you buy a Samsung phone you can expect it to start to become broken in terms of NFC after a year or 2 as the battery fades. I think the practice has extended to newer phones. If true (that they're using this as a way to break our phones to get us to buy new ones) then I won't be buying a Samsung again.

Just see if you can get a freight forwarder from the US to the UK. Or as we call them in my country a Skybox account.

This is the one I bought in 2012 and has worked perfectly since. It's a genuine Samsung extended battery with NFC.
I'm also looking for a battery replacement. The one that venni posted comes with a whopping 34$ shipping fees so that's not acceptable. Any other suggestions? Ebay is filled with these 2$ "superpower" batteries but I'm sure they are crap.

The shipping is expensive possibly because batteries are no longer allowed in air freight. Some companies accept them, but charge a lot more... or so I heard.
This is very much something to think about when you buy a new phone - buy a new battery while you can get one!
I bought 3 batteries. No one had NFC.
I'm thinking about buying this
http://www.ebay.it/itm/NFC-Antenna-..._Phone_Accessories&hash=item4ac9d6f8e8&_uhb=1
and connect with wires to the two nfc pins.
Do you think it would work?

Would you say it's on par with original battery, when you bought phone?
There are multiple sources online, I found some in Latvia and Spain, but they all look the same, don't know if it is worth to pay a bit extra for them.
I've just bought this phone as used, second hand phone and I'm getting ~4hours screen on time, on wifi, 3g, whatsapp, messenger, without gaming and lowered adaptive brightness. Don't know if it's worth buying new battery or that should be normal.

That's a little tricky - there's 2 stickers- a brown electronic one, and a silver metal one beneath. Be sure to move BOTH to the new battery. I had some problems until I realized that.
The easiest way is to cut around the whole thing with sharp blade and stick it back in the new battery.
Good luck!

from what I've read Samsung won't be using their internal battery supply dept for these due to issues and that they are looking to their other suppliers for fulfillment. I'm sure they are just using existing battery stock (not SDI) to fulfill exchanges then when back up to full capacity can fulfill existing orders and new stock orders.
