I've bought 5 batteries now, all claimed to have NFC but they don't have it.
Where can I buy a replacement NFC battery? Do I have to make one? If so, how?
The batteries I have bought you need to avoid include:
- various from dinodirect sold as NFC but they actually don't have them
- a pisen from ebay. I think this brand doesn't make them
What is the address to buy one direct from Samsung?
do you have the gsm.or.cdma tuna variant?

any recommendations regarding good replacement battery?
Is there a way to find out of the battery supports NFC without using a nfc-tag? I bought one from mugen and could check it out for you.

That would be great, thanks
You could try the NFC Info. app for this.
Things to try:
- passports with the chip sign on the front
- newer credit cards
- keycards for getting in apartments
- anti theft rfid tags in stores. Common in the perfume section including toilet smellies
- many book stores put the tags inside the cover of books or in a random page
I contacted Samsung UK directly for a replacement. They were unable to point me to somewhere that has the batteries. When I really pressed hard (because I need this battery or I have to buy another phone) they ignored me. I think they are no longer making the batteries but enforcing the patent on the battery NFC design to prevent others from making them. The only people claiming to make them now as a result are fakers. This is anticompetitive of course and it means that if you buy a Samsung phone you can expect it to start to become broken in terms of NFC after a year or 2 as the battery fades. I think the practice has extended to newer phones. If true (that they're using this as a way to break our phones to get us to buy new ones) then I won't be buying a Samsung again.
I have this:
http://www.amazon.com/Onite-Extende...981067&sr=8-1&keywords=i9250+extended+battery
Works very well, still works as it did the first day it came (about 4 months ago)
Thanks! Went to buy but they won't send to the UK or Spain unfortunately. A friend in Hong Kong has bought me one that hopefully is real. If not then I might get in touch to see if you want to sell me yours on at a profit

Just see if you can get a freight forwarder from the US to the UK. Or as we call them in my country a Skybox account.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/111304890703
This is the one I bought in 2012 and has worked perfectly since. It's a genuine Samsung extended battery with NFC.
I'm also looking for a battery replacement. The one that venni posted comes with a whopping 34$ shipping fees so that's not acceptable. Any other suggestions? Ebay is filled with these 2$ "superpower" batteries but I'm sure they are crap.

The shipping is expensive possibly because batteries are no longer allowed in air freight. Some companies accept them, but charge a lot more... or so I heard.
This is very much something to think about when you buy a new phone - buy a new battery while you can get one!
I bought 3 batteries. No one had NFC.
I'm thinking about buying this
http://www.ebay.it/itm/NFC-Antenna-..._Phone_Accessories&hash=item4ac9d6f8e8&_uhb=1
and connect with wires to the two nfc pins.
Do you think it would work?

I've ordered that NFC battery linked in the earlier page of this... it's so cheap I'll give it a go.
A girlfriend has sent one from China bought from a shop... probably real...
but had to send my boat because of air freight restrictions. It's been 2 months waiting so far...

It usually takes a while for spare parts and batteries to show up. Your best bet is probably to check if any other phone uses the exact same battery.

I know you mentioned Amazon, but I wanted to give you an exact link to the product I bought. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120832462058&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:3160 I really like this product, it only adds a tiny bit to the overall size and adds about an hour of heavy usage. If you are going to be using it non stop I'd recommend figuring out how long the current battery you use lasts under normal circumstances then approximate how big of a battery you would need from there.

yes, this is genuine from samsung, so it does have NFC built in.Personally i'm gonna buy this in a short time .
This looks like a good deal for me but I had a question with the NFC chip. Will there be an issue with google wallet if I try to use a different nfc chip? I wasn't sure if they were somehow tied together from google/samsung. Thanks for the link and the great info!!
The NFC chip is located in your phone. The only thing on your battery is an antenna. As to the original poster: I've had this battery ever since they started selling and it's totally legit.

Yeah, most such ebay listingsa are fake / not genuine / ripoffs. If you're willing to spend that much, why not buy from Samsung directly?

can somebody tell me s4 battery's dimensions
Genuine battery? FAKE! No NFC
Hi all.
I too got sucked in buying a "genuine" i9300 battery from ebay.
The battery looked legit - proper packaging and it cannot be picked from the original battery but it was not til months later that i found NFC would not work.
Works fine with original unit. Turns out the NFC module/coil is inside the battery for S3 (and I think S4) devices.
The dodgy seller (who has dodged all attempts to contact him) has the ebay ID of techno_links.
Long story short the battery itself is fine. I have tested it and it seems to have comparable performance to the original unit - so as long as you dont need NFC it is ok for a spare. My advice though - if you buy one (from ANYONE) make sure you test NFC as soon as you receive it so you can lodge a paypal dispute before the deadline. (Wish i had thought of that)
And that way you will get a spare battery for your i9300 for free!
YAY for paypal!

Nope - the S4 takes an entirely different battery. Wont fit - not even close.
Anything can be written on the battery by those fake producers of battery. If u want a genuine battery just go to the samsung store.
I recently got ripped off from an online website for an 'OEM battery' for my SGS3. NFC worked fine but the battery never lasts a whole day when compared to the stock battery which lasts about a day and a half, with roughly the same amount of usage.
I made a nfc battery from original nfc circuit + compatible battery
I replaced the circuitry from the fake nfc battery with the one from the original battery. The head connector got somehow bulky because of my re-soldering I had to remove the plastic from the downside of the battery, but it's working fine NFC tested ok, the battery is charging. I'm happy, I will use it until I will receive another original Samsung B600BE for my S4

You will get the same type of original battery. And opening your nexus 5 may void warranty (LG services center "conditions apply" ). But for future replacement, I don't think anything will happened to this battery. LCD Screen (with digitizer assembly) should be your choice for future replacement.

It's generally not recommended to buy a battery for "future replacement" because the battery is always degrading even just sitting on your shelf. It's recommended to buy a replacement battery only when you require the replacement battery.

You are right, we don't have a retail store who sell OEM parts or an official LG service, so I have to buy it here. In Colombia you can buy original parts for the most popular cells in the country but the Nexus 5 isn't one of them because they (Google) don't sell it there. I have to import it

Somebody found on stores a spare original battery? I bought this phone since I can swap batteries, but I can't find them
I know it could be early, but in USA they are giving them away and samsung has spare batteries same day they relesed the phones :-/
Thank you
My experieince with a ton of Samsung phones is that I have to wait a month or even more to order a spare battery kit (Note4, Note3, etc). Thats if I buy one at release.
Have you tried a Verizon store? My local VZ store had them in stock. If you arent US, ebay has them for around 30$ USD with cradle, but they are shipped from Korea.

$49 *_*
A samsung battery bought with S5 the same release week was $15.Maybe we didn't need to wait in italy since the official store release was later than USA and we can find the battery at the same time time of the other.
Anyhow it's alittle bit that the phone was released!

It doesn't have it's original package. It seems it is not legit since it is not packed properly. It is only wrapped with an ordinary plastic. What do you think about it? Can we trust them? Thanks!

The seller has excellent feedback. Also this is coming from Korea and the battery is LG branded. I dont think the lack of original packaging makes this fake.

Cool. I'm concerned with that. I've never bought spare battery without its original package. But I'll try this. Thanks for the input.

Youre welcome. I have bought phones on ebay that were not in their original packaging but still the phones were the real deal.

the non OEM original name is "LG G4 Power Pack" and comes with package, you can find an auction about it, but it's still something like €59 euros: you can buy almost 5 original LG G3 battery or 6 non original battery for the same price today, so it's just a question of time, I won't waste money till they are officially sold in Europe since I don't even need a cradle... :-/
