I googled "pit file for note 2 n7100" .

When you try to flash the phone with Odin and no pit file, what errors appear in the Odin log? Did you confirm the model # in download mode?
Post the Odin log when a flash fails. These logs can provide clues as to what's causing the problem.

[Q] My note II won't boot

Hi Every body:
That is really a bad day, just woke up this morning to find my device (was plugged for charging over night) to find it stuck at (GALAXY NOTE II N-7100)
tried several times to pull the battery and put it back hopefully to get it boot...but nothing happened.
I can access only the download mood and NO access to the custom recovery!!
I was running Android 4.1.1 WITH ROOT!
As advised in many other posts, tried to update to 4.1.2 using odin but the whole process failed with the following log:

Any ideas and suggestions will be really appreciated.
Samsung maintenance in my place may take forever to get it fixed (almost 2 weeks!!)
Use odin 1.85 , check samsung usb drivers installed , exit kies, disable antivirus and firewall and try..
"<ID:0/004> Can't open the serial(COM) port." And try another usb port.
" Android 4.1.1" ?... Be careful about sudden death...

Try flashing with odin again but before flashing open the tar and remove the bootloader out of it.
Hi, thanks for the reply cnote.
Would the bootloader be sboot.bin or boot.img or both?
thanks again
edit: or rather, how do you remove the bootloader and remake the tar file?

I believe it;s both. Just retrieve the tar file only.
sboot is the bootloader boot.img is the kernel .Have you tried the latest NH2 for your phone also maybe try using a pit file
The nh2 you will have to get from sammobile and the pit file can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2609871
Also after odin is finished go into factory recovery and do a factory reset or its just going to sit at the boot screen
flashing pit file also gives an error :S

S4 mini gt-i9192 stuck at donwload mode

Hi there,
I have run into this problem with my cellphone (S4 Mini gt-i9192). After it discharged, i connected it on the charger. My device failed to boot and got stuck at download mode ("Could not do normal boot" and mmc read fail). I've tried some procedures i found on the internet:
- flashing some original ROMs with and without PIT file
- hard reset
- wipe cache data
- boot thorugh recovery
The results vary, but I never got it a pass on Odin. Without a PIT file Odin displays "There is no PIT partition" and with PIT file, is displays:

Auto reboot and F. Reset Time are enabled with or without PIT file and Re-partition is only enabled with a PIT file. So, nothing out of usual for this part.
I also remark that I have never rooted it. I realize I should keep downloading stock ROMs and hope for a flash that works because there might a problem with my mmc, but maybe someone knows another procedure to recommend me. I appreciate all feedback and thank for it in advance. ALso, tell me if I didn't provide any info that could help solve this problem.

spontaneous bricking?

using a note 2 today and it just decided to reboot on its own, and then never got passed the splash screen. i have twrp recovery installed. booted into recovery and couldnt do anything. couldn't mount anything, wipe anything, restore anything. all storage showed 0MB. kept giving errors that it couldn't mount any partitions (cache, system, etc.) something with error 16.
i tried flashing a stock rom with odin. that failed. just seems like it is totally corrupted and nothing can be written to it.
how does something like that happen just randomly???? any way back from the dead?

also tried re-partitioning after with this pit file, i317.pit
i tried using Odin v1.85 and Odin 3.07
What is the error message in the Odin log?
Tried using different usb cables and usb ports with Odin?

Without the pit file, it's failing with the boot.img file and this may be fixed by using an oem Samsung cable or different usb 2.0 port. It could also be that the bootloader in the rom is not for the phone or the phone's current bootloader is newer than the bootloader being fished.

tried different cables and ports and another ROM, I317UCAMA4.. still fails.
i think it's a lost cause.
I'm sure you are correct but this phone shows up as an sgh-i317 in download mode?
Where did you get the ROMs? AT&T never released an Odin-flashable ROM after 4.1.2.
