Hi there,
I'm not allowed to post in the dev section so I try here.
Device: Pixel XL 128GB from european google store.
Today I flashed the NDE63U factory image without wipe (no -w), coming from NDE36P stock rooted (boot-to-root.img SR3).
The flash went good and after that I re-rooted with boot-to-root.img.
But after reboot I had no Wifi and no LTE - the icons in statusbar has a little X. So I have an valid IP-adress but I'm not able to transfer any data.
After reflashing the image the connections are back.
I re-tried rooting but the same as before - no Wifi, no LTE.
Had this issue once with the old image and ElementalX-Kernel, using stock kernel fixed it for me but this time I'm already on stock kernel.
Any idea?
Thanx!

Hey guys,
I got this Samsung Galaxy SIII about a month ago and I don't think I have yet to get a gps lock with this phone. Unfortunately, I didn't try it until after rooting and installing a few different roms.
I unrooted and flashed a stock (bell) rom, factory reset, erase cache, etc. and I still do not know what's wrong with it.
Everything is checked in the "Locations" menu in settings...
I've tried Fasterfix, resetting AGPS from GPS status and GPS test; no dice.
Google navigation just stays in the "searching for your location" screen and it never finds my location.
I've even stayed outside with a clear view of the sky with WIFI and LTE and still couldn't lock on.
I also don't see a GPS icon when it's supposedly in use (my old HTC Desire had this).
I'm kind of speculating whether this is a hardware problem or the GPS somehow got disabled.
I searched and found out there are "secret" codes for the Galaxy SIII, including a GPS menu but it doesn't work with our model, unfortunately.
I'm kind of running out of ideas and trying to avoid sending the phone in. Any help would be great
--------------------------------------------EDIT!!!!!! FIX!!!!------------------------------------
I fixed it!! Special thanks to frelnik for his advice.
After un-rooting and flashing my original firmware/rom I still didn't get my GPS (no icon in status bar).
I rooted again: still no gps notification.
BUT
I flashed graffixnyc's Sprint based rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956463
I immediately checked my GPS through Google's navigation and the GPS showed up again in the status bar. It eventually found my location!!
I nandroid back to my rooted stock rom and it remained! I can now lock on to 11 satellites from the basement of my home!
Special thanks to both graffixnyc and frelnik!

Did you at any point install a Sprint-based ROM?
If it doesn't work after the steps outline above (I had the same problem, and unfortunately that wasn't enough to fix mine), then flash back the Spring ROM you last used and see if the GPS is working. If it is, then use CWM to restore a stock Nandroid backup from before the problems started. That cleared it up for me, and now my GPS is working in all ROMs once again.
Michael
Yeah I have installed a Sprint-based rom.
Unfortunately I have already odin'd to the stock Bell version and factory reset'd, still doesn't work.
Because of that, I don't really have a nandroid anymore, it got deleted.
I'm gonna try rooting and flashing the Sprint one again (it was the one that was released just this month and ported to our version) and see how that works.

I can confirm that 1) Odin back to stock, 2) factory reset from phone's sytem settings will get gps back. I Odin'd back to stock rooted image and did the reset. Now running latest Ariel with gps lock within 5-10 seconds. I had run some of the sprint based roms and didn't even notice it was gone until I was on Serenity. Reflashing ATT rom wouldn't fix. I would assume you could get back to stock/working gps, then restore your backup (assuming not sprint based)
Guys I fixed it! Check OP!

I've gotten my phone into a state where I see signal bars, I can make calls and send texts, but no LTE or H+ is displayed and if I try do anything involving the internet it says there's no network connection. Wifi works just fine.
Here's how I got into the predicament. I should have learned my lesson from last time I flashed a Verizon ROM, but I didn't, and I flashed SkyNote RC9Z-3.9.1. Data works just fine in THAT ROM, but any subsequent ROM flashed after that... the network data is completely HOSED. I've tried enabling and disabling network data in settings. I've tried flashing the Devil kernel. I've tried restoring several different ROMS from nandroid backups. All restore fine and all have completely non-working network data. Last time I ran into this I had to flash the stock image in Odin to fiz the issue. This time however, that didn't work. The images flashed successfully, but upon reboot all I got was a a welcome screen bootloop of the samsung swirly logo and the T-Mobile logo.
I'm guessing this has something to do with the 4.3 bootloader? I'm downloading T889UVUCMK7_T889TMBCMK7_TMB.zip from SamMobile site and boy is it taking FOREVER! 7 hours left on the download. My thinking thoug is that If I unzip this new 4.3 firmware and flash it with Odin (or Kies if I absolutle have to) my device will start behaving again, and Network data will work, and I can go about ROM flashing and hopping again (though I'm gonna stay away from those Verizon ROMs let met tell you!).
Does anyone else have any other suggestions on what I can do to get my data back or to patch my bootloader to the 4.3 version? I was looking at this thread and wondering if it's safe to follow this procedure for patching once I have installed the 4.3 stock image:

Any help is appreciated.

Good Morning Everyone,
I encountered a very weird issue last night after updating my table to 5.1.1 official. For the longest time, I was running the AOSP rom for 605 on my 607T. I was able to access Data and Wifi with no issues.
Last night, I rebooted to twrp, wiped my system and cache and internal storage.
Through Odin 3.07 - I flashed the factory firmware for 5.1.1.
Phone booted up and told me there was no Sim and would not allow the wifi option to be turned on because there was no sim. I thought this was strange as I have used it before on wifi when there actually was no sim card present. I pulled the sim out and put it back in - voila, i have wifi again. My Data connection kept the X through the bars though. I figured it must be something with the APN. I go to the APN Section and get a messages that this user (verified im set as the owner and only user) is not authorized to view APNs. I figured I would just create a new one - which I did and saved it. It would not even show the new one I made.
I ran into a similar lack of Sim visibility before when I first flashed 4.4.4 after running on an AOSP rom. I ended up flashing back to AOSP.
Has anyone else encountered this?
Reflash and try again, there was some mention of Data/Wifi errors. Also was the factory firmware for the 605 or the 607T? If 605 just flash the 607T firmware and you should be fine.

I flashed factory firmware for the 607T.
Going to try and reflash this afternoon when I get home from work and will follow up.
LOL I just read through the 605 thread -

Looks like if you come from a custom rom - a double flash is required period. Glad I didn't actually set up my device last night.
Figured I would update for anyone who runs into this. Reflash did not work. Wiped everything and flashed a third time - no dice. I flashed back to 4.4.2 original factory image and used smart switch to upgrade back to 5.1.1
hello,
I have installed a custom rom onto my lg g3 d852 model. But after many failed attempts to correct it, my phone will not stay conected to my mobile network. My phone is now running MM 6.0 on the koodo network. I believe that this problem may have started because of a setting I may have changed in the hidden menu.
Ive tried:
-downgrading back to LP
-Switching sim cards
-updating firmware
-checked the imei (still says its there)
Any help is greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I have found a temporary solution. I switched to HSPA only in network options, this got my phone connected back to the network at least for now. I would like to have access to all frequencies. Any suggestions?
Bump...
Which custom ROM did you install, and does the problem persist after a factory reset? If it's merely a setting you changed the restet will put it back to default. If it's a modem setting you changed in the hidden menu, a clean flash of the ROM will get you back to where you started.

I made a mistake, the rom is a stock rom MM of Koodo/Telus provider that I downloaded off of xda... I can link to the rom if necessary. I have factory reset several times and tried Fulmics LP and MM and this version I'm currently using getting the same results.
If I were in your shoes, I'd do one of two things. First, I'd try the nand back I made when I got the phone, before I'd flashed anything. If you don't have a good back up, one that includes the efs, modem and bootloader, then you need to revert to stock using the factory kdz image. There's a tutorial here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
I shall give this tutorial a try. Thanks.
Hey,
Here's the full story of what I have been doing with my mom's RN8 today.
Just unlocked bootloader, installed the newest TWRP, flashed Magisk + Magisk Manager Canary, reset phone to recovery and got an SYSTEM DAMAGED error, flashed twrp 3.4 +vbmeta from a youtube guide and saved my phone, installed Magisk module called WifiBonding or something - it didn't work and my phone stopped displaying any wifi networks so turned the module off, that didn't help so I reset the phone. That didn't work either so I factory reset it, that didn't help, so I went to TWRP and wiped data partition - I still have the problem though, the phone doesn't display any WIFI networks - when I click the wifi button in the dropdown menu or go to setting and click the switch, it goes back onto the off position after a second. Even during the installation wizard after I wiped the phone, it didn't see any wifi networks!
How do I fix the problem? What do I wipe in twrp to replace the file that has completely broken my wifi? Right now I will try to install the magisk manager again and remove it using the 'uninstall' option. Help me out fellas, please, I am clueless as to what to do!
tl;dr - installed the module called Wifi Bonding (Qcom) v. 1.14 by simonsmh - phone didn't display any WIFI networks, the button returned to the off position, I wiped twrp data, the problem still persists. How do I solve it?
Thank you in advance! @
just install stock rom or any cusrom here
So apparently after uninstalling Magisk I accidentaly wiped and formatted all the data on my phone and was forced to reflash MIUI using this guide. https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=2 All is well now, the wifi bug is no more. Thanks for your comment dude.
Best
