Hi guys! i have a Lenovo Vibe Shot Z90A40 bought a week or so ago, which i updated to Marshmallow via OTA update but that update didn't satisfy me and have some bugs including a major issue of Battery drain even on Standby/Idle.
All cpu cores are running at 990(1st 4 cores)/800(2nd 4 cores) frequency all the time even when on Phone is idle.
i had tried Reboot, Cache Clear, Turning off wifi scanning etc, even Factory Reset, but the problem still persisted.
So, ultimatly i downgraded to the Stock firmware Z90a40_S240_160119_ROW Lollipop 5.1
but now the problem still exists. Battery usage shows the CPU as the biggest battery drain factor.
I have added a screenshot of CPU usage from CPU-Z app when the phone was idle. please check it

Now what should i do now. i am tired of this abnormal behaviour of battery.
P.S. i have another XIAOMI NOTE PRO which has the same octacore processor. CPU-Z shows its 4 cores are running at 200 to 250 frequency and other 4 cores are stoped when the phone is Idle/Standby
P.S.S. if any other user have this phone with stock firmware 5.1 please share your cpu core stats from CPU-Z or some other app like that.

Hello everyone, I just bought my G3 3 days ago. But the temperature seems bad for me.
The CPU temperature is between 54C and 68C in normal use (Facebook app, messenger) and it reaches 75C in heavy use (Shadow Fight 2, VR Games, screen brightness +80%, Google chrome). The battery is something cooler, but I think it is in bad situation too. Its temperature in normal use is between 36C and 38C and in heavy use it reaches 40C. What should I do?
- The apps I have used are (Antutu Benchmarks and CPU Temp).
- I did not make any changes in software or even hardware.
- My phone runs at Lollipop V5.0 OS.
- When the temperature of CPU reaches 70C, I can't make the brightness +90%.
- Sorry for my English.

no difference because it will happen the same on next phone, its a issue of the processor itself because the gap between the processor and the frame of phone! all stock LG G3 have this issue.
sure, you do what is the best for you, mine have only 2 months and i do this anyway...have no fear to loose the guarantee!
You should buy a portable console, maybe.
Noob. My G3 can be at 101ºC

Basicly u need to root use a diffrent kernal than stock most have built in thermal mods plus the thermal paste mod i get 62 max
you should also try using ctt thermal mod.root your device.istall twrp and flash that mod in twrp and you are good to go.i dont know how low temps you will get after that but it does help in lowering cpu temp.try it.

I have at home 2 g4 to upgrade to Marshmallow. in the 2 battery is spent faster than lollipop. you know why and how to fix it?
Up?
Enviado desde el GamePad de la WiiU
What to fix?
At least post some details so people can start thinking about some resolution.
What's draining your battery? Misbehaving apps? Apps not updated to MM? etc.
Terrible battery life on Lg G4 after marshmallow update! Help!!!
I'm very angry and very unsatisfied with this update. I ruined a perfect phone! From 20 h/ 4 h sot to come 12h/3h sot is a big difference. I was expecting a better battery life but I get the opposite. In the meantime I make some research and I noticed that the biggest drain is on mobile data ,especially background. Gsam battery monitor chart show me a thing called " system logd" on top. This thing is on 35% and android system or play services only 7%. Wow!!! On WiFi is there too but something like 8-10%. OK...I said I can rid of this... After 3 days no way! I clean the cache, factory reset ... Nothing changed. I think is a misbehaving app, I go in safe mode...the battery still the same ,location off...the same thing. I don't know what to do...root my phone? I hate marshmallow
Off topic: is the last time I make updates. Is the second time I break a perfect device with this, first a flawless HTC m8 running KitKat with lollipop, now my lg with marshmallow.
/me too.
Same apps as before updating to M. No changes except battery draining fast. Before update at this time (12pm Spain) usually 80-85% after full charge during night, now 65% with same use, same settings...
you guys are doing something very wrong, my H815 battery life is insane, with heavy use, I cannot run down the battery in a 16 hour day! - I go to bed and the phone is still on over 40% - running stock newest marshmallow 20B with a few tweaks

what tweaks you use WTF? are you rooted? i plan on staying stock
If you kill most of not needed Google apps, you're pretty fine with overall lifetime. See screenshot - it's awesome & I am using 20B.

As I said earlier. 2 G4's in house consumption has increased. 1 became normal update, on the other with full wipes before and after installing marshmallow and reinstalling all applications and games.
In the 2 I had to re-lollipop for battery after several cycles, if it is true that improvement but fails even to match the performance they had in lollipop.
In Marshmallo barely exceeded 2 G4 screen 3 hours, with very little lollipop exceeds 5 hours of screen
Hi,
I have been experiencing general lag and microlag issues and a slight battery drain (whatever app/ stock home screen launcher) with my Lg G3 D855, 32GB, 3GB RAM, OS: 5.0, Kernel: 3.4.0-perf-g7337331, software version V21a-EUR-XX, since 1 year and an half.
I bought the smarthpone on August 2015, I replaced the battery 5 months ago (Battery drain persisted).
Less than 20 apps installed (google and other stock apps excluded), 28% internal storage used, 90% external storage used.
Lag and microlag occurs always, "hard reset" never fixed the problem.
My desidered setup requires:
- no Lag and microlag (my first priority)
- no battery drain
- good network coverage and fast switching network tecnology (I live in Italy)
What ROM would you suggest?
It would be my first time with non-stock LG ROM.
Thank you a lot for your time.
Well, first things first. If you want a nearly lag-free experience you might need to do both hardware and software mods to your phone. Hardware mods include opening your phone and putting a (prefferably, to avoid the possibility of hardware problems) 1mm thick thermal pad on the ram chip and a 0.5mm pad on the ssd.
Secondly, AOSP roms are usually the smoothest. You can go for Marshmallow, in which case CM13 is something I'd try first. Pair it with a good kernel such as Gamma kernel (for extra smoothness), use v50 if latest one causes issues. I hear Nebula 2e is good too. It packs a lot of overclock so don't use that without the thermal mod if you want to use overclock. Nougat roms work great too. Lineage OS should serve you well but I have found that Xenon HD is among the smoothest, for Nougat I also recommend Gamma kernel, unless you want to use Pixel-G3 (which works great btw). It's really up to you as all roms have their pros and cons. Also, with any rom, don't fill up the internal memory above about 50% if you want max performance out of that. Wiping internal storage before install is also recommended so backup everything before doing any of this.
Don't expect to find your perfect rom at first flash
Im on fulmics 7.6 with exceed kernel, restricted 2cores to 1900mhz, undervolt -75mv.
First, get rid of facebook and messenger apps, use the lite versions. Thats all i did and the phone is smooth even with 2gigs of ram. Runs cool and i get over 6hrs screen with 50% or less brightness.
Also, put the apps on internal memory, sd te ds to be way slower.
The screenshots are from my current use, (tapatalk, chrome, fb) ambient temp is like 18c. Screen was mostly at 10% brightness.

Hello,
I have my Nexus 5x since 2016 and I change the battery 3 months ago. Despite this, all days I have to charge the phone before the end of the day. In settings, I see that the screen is use approximatively 2 hours before shutting down. So that's not enough ! Do you have an idea about this issue ? I repeat that my battery is a new one...

It does not have to be battery related, it could be a software or hardware issue as well.
It is possible that some app keeps the phone awake.
One possible solution to that is to use an app ( I use GSam Battery Monitor Pro) to find out what is draining the battery.
If that does not give a clear answer then you could factory reset the phone and see if that improves the situation.
If that also doesn't help then you could have a hardware issue. It happens on some phones, I have a (spare) Nexus 5X here that also drains the battery while sitting idle.
I just use it for experiments and keep it on the charger all day
what SoT were u getting when u first changed the battery?
considering normal SoT time for n5x is around 3-4 hours, plus (im guessing) cheaper 3rd party battery, these numbers wouldnt surprise me.
also, we know nothing about what apps you have installed or what android you're using.
Hello,
I installed a new 2700 mAh battery like the original. I don't us many apps just have social medias, web browsing and youtube... I confirm : today shutting down at 5 PM, less than 2 hours of SoT

I'm not sure if it's specific to lineage os, but if you scroll down on the battery settings page, it may show the battery use % for each app at the bottom. If that's there, try using your device as normal for a day, then check that when it gets down to 5% or so and see what's eating all your battery.
Hi everyone,
I am just wondering if you guys notice that the phone gets warm when doing light task such as note taking in Samsung notes or opening messaging app?
Also the battery life of this phone is not good, with disabling everything I still cannot get thru a day.

Nope, my SOT is around 5 - 6 hours, but my standby battery is not good enough, I cant get thru 12 hours oh furthermore the number for full charge only last for 10 hours, is my device faulty?

That is where the SoC is, the 888 is notorious for being a hot chip.
I was having the same issue with over standby battery life. I would get 12 hours at most on a full charge. After disabling wifi and BT scanning under location/improved accuracy and then also using bixby routines to put phone in power save mode when folded shut I was able to get 32 hours with 5 hours screen on time.
I just leave Power Saving Mode on all the time, tweaked so that brightness doesn't dim, and 5g doesn't turn off. So the only difference is CPU is down by 70%. I haven't noticed any degradation in performance apart from longer battery life.
