Let me try to explain myself.
I see this feature a lot in custom ROMS. You set up your pattern lockscreen and there is an option to activate swipe lockscreen (I've mostly seen this option in Kit-Kat ROMS), allowing you to have the swipe before the pattern input. However, messing around with the security settings you can set it up so that every time you turn the screen off, you have to swipe to unlock and ONLY have the pattern show up after 30 minutes of inactivity.
What this means is that when I constantly use the phone, I will only have to deal with the swipe when I put the phone in my pocket and NOT deal with the pattern every time I turn the screen off and the pattern will only be required after 30 minutes of inactivity.
But as I stated, this feature is mostly found in custom ROMS. Right now, I have a deodexed and debloated T-Mobile Note 3 Lollipop ROM. I really love Samsung's multi-window feature and combined with Wanam Xposed, I can force any app to have the multi-window option.
Can I activate this type of lockscreen layout on a near stock ROM?
Thanks!

Hey there,
I'm using extended controls and a lock pattern. whenever I disable auto lock in extended control, it completely removes the lock, so neither patternlock (what I want to disable) NOR slide-lock is shown: Is there a way to toggle: pattern lock and slide lock and perhaps no-lock at all? currently the toggling of patternlock is NOT working really well since extended control brings me to the settings-screen where I always have to disable / re-enable (->thus reentering a pattern) myself.
perhaps there's a software which brings its own lockscreen and thus allows something like that...
rooted desire with oxygen 2.2. thanks!
I've not heard of something like that, but I'm not saying it doesn't exist.. I see you're using an AOSP ROM, if you tried cyanogenmod, it has a feature that allows you to disable and enable the screen lock, and then re-enable it.. or, you can also set-up delay settings, so the phone only locks after e.g. 5 minutes
Don't forget to nandroid backup when switching ROMs!
It's really a pain. In android 2.1 it was possible... And I really don't understand why users don't want to have such a feature: I don't always enable pattern lock but though I don't want to disdable locking completely because the phone COULD EASILY go on and do something stupid in my pocket - thus I want to keep a simple slide unlock and sometimes (e.g. when I'm at home and have the phone laying around all the time for the whole day), I want to disable a locking screen completely since I'm not transporting it in my pocket
Does anyone know of an app, or widget that easy lets me toggle screen lock security on and off with one click, like a toggle?
The reason I ask, is that at certain times, I like having the lock screen pattern enabled, but most of the day I like to have it turned off and just the normal swype lock screen without security.
I know I can do this in the settings, but it gets annoying having to go in the settings, enable the lock pattern, and go through all that each time I want to have it enabled for a while.
Any suggestions, or apps that can enable some type of lock screen pattern, or security, but have it easily toggled on and off without having to re set it up each time I want to enable or disable it?
I've been looking around for a while and haven't found a solution.
I recently switched from widgetunlocker back to stock. I'm trying to use a patter or PIN code, but not every time. I'd like to set the delay for 15 minutes, but still have an unlock screen with the slider when the pattern is required, in order to see dashclock and any alerts I have without going into the home screen. Looking around, previous builds had a "Show widgets before unlock" option which would allow this, but I don't seem to have this option. Instead, if I set a 15 minute delay and turn on the phone, it skips the lock screen and goes straight into whatever app I was just in.
Was this option removed? Has it changed in some way?
Thanks!
Hi all,
One thing that I wish I could do with my phone is have the swipe lock always turn on when the screen goes off, but the security lock only come on automatically after a set time. As is (on MC2), I find that it's all or nothing. With the swipe lock activates with the pattern lock or neither activates. I've been using the security lock for a while, but with the screen turning on at every text, I was hoping to have the swipe lock so I don't butt-dial people.
Is this possible? I had this option when running a custom ROM on my Evo 3d. I'm on the stock, rooted, deodexed, MC2 ROM. Do any of the custom ROMs offer this option?
Before installing the new Kit Kat upgrade, I had no password and was able to press the top power button to awaken or sleep the home screen without also having to swipe the little "lock" icon upward. With the new updated software, I now have to swipe the little lock every single time. So now I have two steps to complete before accessing my phone. Does anyone know how to remove it?
The first two options in the settings / security menu.
No Lock app
No Lock has been working for me: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.jraf.android.nolock&hl=en
I'm rooted but running stock rom.

I have no screen lock at all on those settings and I still have to swipe to get to my home screen. This was removable in the previous update.
Huh? Set the first option to what kind of lockscreen you want pin pattern etc. Then put a check on the second option. This should bring up the security screen when the phone first wakes, then once you enter your pin pattern etc it should go straight to your home screen.

I do not want to have to swipe the "lock" icon. I never needed to before and now with KitKat I do. I'm wondering whether there is a way to remove that little feature.
These are my current settings.
I have no pin or lock, yet I still have to swipe the little lock up before accessing my home screen. Is there a way to go straight to my home screen without having to swipe the lock icon up?
That is very strange. I have the same settings for mine, screen lock none and the bypass lockscreen on wake box checked. When my phone is off and i hit the power button it goes straight to my home screen, no lock swipe involved.
Are you rooted?

Ditto. There must be something messed up with his rom or some app interfering with the settings.
There is also a setting for skipping the lock screen in the Sense 5 Toolbox so you could try that too if you're rooted and have Xposed.
No i think the reason it does this for me is because i have sense 5 toolbox and never realized it was an always on option. If your rooted, and dont want xposed or sense 5 toolbox, i made a flashable zip that will remove the lock screen.

I'm not rooted.

Well then either root, or as stated in an earlier post try no lock from the market. Its free and does not require root.
