HTC One M8 - Phone won't turn on help - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
My HTC One M8 after serving me for years now won't boot up.
If I connect it to the charger then it would just work fine but as soon as I remove the power cable the phone turn itself off.
Can it be that the battery is gone?
If I plug the phone again to the charger the battery status seems to lost 2% of charge. How do I restore the phone so that it work without connecting to the charger?

Charge without phone turning on

Seems the bottom half of the battery on my TP2 is no good. It died last night and its stuck in a boot loop now, it charges to a point to turn on then dies. This continues. Any tricks to charge without the phone turning on?
make sure you are using the charger that came with your device...
this happened to me once while on vacation and my batt died...i tried to charge it with a my girlfriends motorolla charger to no avail...the current supplied wasn't strong enough to charge the device...spent the whole 2nd day of vacation looking for an mda charger...lol...
hope that helps...
I've tried multiple USB cables that are all ext-usb. The charger is the original.
What about if you boot to the tri color screen (power + volume down + end key) and let it sit. I'm not sure if it would still charge though but it's worth a try

Hey this same thing is happening to mine! Please help!!! This is a terrible design flaw! It doesn't charge while booting, only when it's off or only when it's completely booted up!

I generally use an external charger, there are a lot of them on ebay, and they are cheap. I have two batteries and just swap them out. I keep the charger at work, so on weekends I sometimes have to recharge via the phone, but generally I never charge that way.

Phone wont boot.

Hey guys, my phone wont boot.
I had this problem before and it turned out the battery was dead.
Is there a way to charge the battery without having to buy anything?
Use a wall charger and let charge for several hours...it has been mentioned that using car charger works faster , worth trying..there are a couple of other thread discussing this same issue...

Does the pc recognize the phone when you plug in the usb cable ?
Check in the pc's device manager if you see it
Keep it on the charger (usb or wall) for a longer period of time.....its the only thing you can do now !
i do have similar problem, but my HTC's led does not blink does not react to anything, usb to PC or charger. computer also does not react to phone. it happened after battery went flat, device shuted down as normal, and after that - DEAD. Help Please?

Whenever I switched on my phone and disconnect my charger, it shows low battery. While placing it on charger won't charge the battery .
I switched off the phone and put it on charge and now it doesn't turn on !!
Requires a solution please !!

[Q] HTC One M8 Not turning on with battery

Hi,
I tried to search the forum but couldn't get mine working.
I got HTC One M8 partially dead from my friend, so that I can check it. TWRP recovery is installed. HTC Boot logo show " This build is for development purpose only..."
Now I have three different genuine chargers with me. One from HTC One M8, another from HTC ONE Max and third is from HTC Evo 3D. If I plug the charger in computer to get it detected and then try some adb cmd on it. It will just keep restarting after showing first boot logo. Then when I put it to its own wall charger it get on and the TWRP recovery screen appears for 1 sec and then the battery information that it is charging. few seconds later TWRP recovery screen just appear again for 1 sec and goes away while the phone is yet charging.
The battery charging information shows that is phone is charging up and the LED is stable. I let it charge over night and was 100% in the morning. As soon as I removed the wall charger. The phone went off. I tried to power it on but it didn't. I put the phone again to charge with wall charger but it again started from 1%. The phone goes off as soon as I remove it from wall charger and then start charging again from 1% if I put it back.
It is not water damaged, neither it has been hit hard, nor dissembled.
What I have tried it to get into hboot by holding POWER+Vol Down. Also Tried POWER+Vol up for 10-20 sec. I also tried to go through Battery calibration by holding VOL Down+VOL UP and Power for 2min+. Phone doesn't show any life if I try it on battery, not even vibration. Only on wall charger it start doing it regular procedure as said above.
Now the question is if it charging the Battery at all? Because I don't feel the phone heating up a bit while charging. Or is it some other problem?!
Thanks
Any help?

Sounds like it's not really charging, probably a hardware problem. Any way you can return it under warranty?
