This phone icon popped up overnight in my notification bar (see pic) and i have no idea what it's for. Thought maybe the Pixel XL had a software update but there is no update.
Can anyone shed some light on this please.

What's the pull down say?
It's saying that you have the phone locked to portrait orientation. You can turn this icon off in System UI Tuner.

Nice, I wouldn't have thought of that.

I have been looking for a free app that shows battery temp directly on the notification bar (NOT in the pull-down menu). Greatly appreciated!
I use System Tuner with Notification package. This what you looking for?

jdpdata, that's for cpu temp, not battery.
Battery Monitor adds it's Icon to the notification area, and you can toggle that. There is no reason that app couldn't be changed to put up temp or eta left. But that would depend on a developer.
Does anyone else have this problem with the traffic card? The traffic card doesn't show my route. It only shows a portion of the map where I'm at. It did the same thing on my Samsung Gear Live.

How?
Hey!
How even could you get to this screen? I was looking for something like this for days now, and still cannot find.
When you see your travel time to home or work, swipe left.

It appears that the latest update fixed this.

it did! you're right! i thought it was just a garbage notification. glad they fixed it! now i just wish you could actually interact with it!
It's way to much at the bottom in my opinion.
Is that normal?

Well, yeah it's normal if you're using the capacitive buttons. If you use the on-screen buttons, I'm sure it will look a bit better to you.

I found out what the problem is, the app drawer icon doesn't switch the size after you pick the small icon size in the launcher settings.
It always has the same size if you switch them.

Hey,
So does anyone know a way to make apps exempt from the stock OOS RAM cleanup?
I want to be able to select a certain app that I don't want to ever be cleared from the ram as I need it running in the background 24/7.
Thanks
Did you try locking the app under recents? See attached picture.

So I used Custom Navigation Bar to swap my back and recents buttons around. I think doing this might have disabled the keyboard switch icon that comes up in the navbar. Anyone have this issue?

That definitely is what caused it.

There's a switch inside that app to turn it on and off you probably actually shut it off
Thanks for that! Found it and all is well. I really appreciate the help.
