One m9 stuck in bootloop - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone.
Yesterday I tried to install the CyanogenMod 13 on my htc one m9. The installation is successful, but when it is rebooted went bootloop.
I tried following the guides on this site, but none worked.
I tried to restore a backup using TWRP found here on XDA, I tried to change ROM and recovery, but none of them have solved the problem.
So I tried to use the official utility HTC (RUU.exe) found on androidruu and another found on the HTC US website. both utilities finds the phone but when the process starts It fails with code 155
Additional information:
CID: 031
Recovery works (last TWRP version)
Software version 3.35.401.12
s-on
in practice my phone lights up, the screen appears with the HTC logo, but when you should see the ROM boot animation to restart, as if it had not installed anything.
full list of what i tried:
Installing CyanogenMod 13
installing viper one m9
reinstalling recovery
recover TWRP backup of the stock version (only removes the red label on startup)
return to stock with the ruu.exe utility (fails at 0% code 155)
Also tried to relock bootloader as said on this site
installing CyanogenMod recovery
reinstalling CM13
Also tried to install ruu.zip but i can only find outdated versions, so the install fails
reinstalling viperOne m9
reinstalling cm
CM13 with flashing boot.img fastboot
I'm very sorry for my English, but I'm italian and not so good in English

Problem in Recovery boot, while rooting

I decided to root my phone. I have an htc one M8 with android version 4.4.2. I followed a detailed guide step by step found on htconeroot site (sorry cant post link im a new user but its the same rooting process i found everywhere). Everything went perfect until the final stage ''step 25: choose “RECOVERY” and hit the Power button'' well i did that and instead get access to TWRP Recovery, the HBOOT RECOVERY option just show me for about 1-2 seconds the screen with HTC logo and letters ''entering recovery ...'' but almost immediately jumps back to fastboot menu ! never get into TWRP so i can finish rooting process. My phone, if i select reboot, works fine (unrooted).
Details of the device:
MEM_UL PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-3.19.0.0000
RADIO-1.101.1102.19.1017
OpenDSP-v28.2.2-00546.0311
OS-2.19.401.2
Emmc-BOOT 1024MB
Aug 13 2015,
Also on the top displays ''TAMPERED'' ''UNLOCKED''
What i tried
Tried several TWRP recovery images, no luck, (actually i tried almost every TWRP file i found out there)
Tried fastboot erase cache, no luck
(no verizon or sprint im on international carrier)
Been stuck here for many hours, any ideas ?
Thank you
(sorry for my bad english)
First....I suggest updating your firmware to the latest version.
Second, When you flash TWRP which version are you trying to flash, and what command are you using?
firmware updated, still no luck
command i used: fastboot flash recovery
versions i tried: twrp-2.7.0.1-m8 till 2.8.6.0
Still got this annoying bootloop
Use correct twrp version on correct device variant.
You can't use a M8 twrp on a HTC ONE MINI 2 device
MEM_UL = HTC ONE MINI 2
M8_UL = HTC ONE M8
im a blind idiot ! for many hours flashed wrong device twrp versions ! stupid stupid stupid
so i tried all the m4 twrp versions i found, i used 11 versions from twrp-2.6.0.0-m4 till twrp-2.8.7.0-m4
and the problem still exists, no recovery mode-jump back to fastboot menu.
But the last moment i found on a forum (can't remember which one) that: twrp-2.7.1.0-20140802-memul.img
and finally yes ... i was able to enter the recovery and finish rooting process easily !
If anyone encounters similar problem just use the above twrp, well, it worked for me !
Thank you Kyuubi10 and ckpv5 for your help !

Help Un-Rooting Bell Canada HTC One M9

I have an HTC One M9 that's rooted with the CM 13 based on 6.0.1, and I have TWRP Recovery installed. I wanted to unroot my phone and install the stock ROM to my phone because I have some physical problems with the phone and some software problems that aren't related to the root or CM 13. I followed a guide that said to get ADB and Fastboot on my computer so I did that (AT this point I had already gone to TWRP and wiped the device including the OS) and then it said to get the stock ROM. I tried to look for the stock ROM and I found a few so I tried one. It said to flash it by using commands on ADB to flash it. I did all of the commands it asked and when it came to typing "fastboot flash recovery (file name here)" it said waiting for device and didn't ever change. I tried putting the zip file onto my device and then lashing it using install on TWRP and it failed then automatically restarted the phone with no OS so it was bricked. I waited for the battery to die and then booted the phone into recovery mode. This is currently where I'm at. I live in Canada and use Bell so I can't find the stock ROM on the Official HTC website, or anywhere else for that matter. I would like to use my phone so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

HTC Desire bootloop+S-On+ no OS

Hello all members !
First - I'm sorry for my English use.
I have a problem with my HTC Desire. I didn't found same situation - or I'm just blind.
I tried to root this device - did it succesfully with Revolutionary method - just recovery install cracked. I've found TWRP 6.0.2 and put it in by fastboot. Later with TWRP installed SuperSU.
Started to put custom ROM - fail. By fastboot I've installed stock HBoot - still ROM failed (status 7). Later I tried to install RUU - after 90+% progress I had fail. Phone stuck on black HTC logo with triangles - but I was able to get into bootloader, TWRP and fastboot . Later I was just reading repair tips from another forums and I've started system by fastboot - stuck on white HTC logo. After all I did... fastboot oem lock.
Now I cant flash HBOOT, zip etc. Just recovery. PB99IMG.zip didnt work. OS are gone.
Now I have question (if you survived this ugly-lang story) - does someone have any ideas how to repair this phone? Do an S-OFF? Say which RUU can rescue me?
Thanks for reading

HTC One A9 Incompatible?

Has anyone been able to successfully installed Lineage on an HTc One A9? I've unlocked my bootloader and turned S Off but Recovery Mode will not accept a flash of TWRP. Previous attempts have frozen device at Recovery Mode screen. The only way to correct is through reflashing factory ROM. I'm running the at&t version with Marshmallow. Please help!

I'm not sure if you're aware of this but, LineageOS has 2 different types of builds for the A9...
Are you sure that your using the "hiaeul" builds on the following link?
https://download.lineageos.org/hiaeul
That's the one for the AT&T HTC One A9.
Just wondering...
***Please Note: As always, I welcome any member to help with further valuable information/clarification for any of my posts.

Yup. I was attempting to load hiaeul. No go. HTC's boot splash page just laughs at me. Denied
My HTC One A9 hiaeul is also failing to boot after installing lineageos-14.1 from TWRP.
It stops at the white boot screen, green "htc" and red "This build is for development purposes" message.
I'm surprised there are no answers posted here. There is only one correct package it will allow to be installed, so I don't think "try the other A9" is any sort of final answer.
Maybe the bootloader is too old?? If so, are there any solutions?
Hi,
got the same isue with my german A9. I changed Firmware Version to latest available 2.X Version and flashed the Nougat RUU from last years April (i guess). Stock Nougat is running great...but even after flashing TWRP via fastboot the Stock System will start staying in a bootloop of the HTC Logo. Turning off, vibrating, Logo, tunring off, vibrating, Logo and so on.
When I Flash latest LineageOS and gapps pico, it starts up and stays in Lineage-Boot-Animation for hours (let it try while i was sleeping last night for 6 hours)
Any idea? I can´t find out, which Firmware Version i Need for a working LineageOS. Also I don´t know if i Need some Special boot-Image or how the way is. I wonder why there isn´t a tutoril for this issue, though I found a few threads dealing with that issue and pretending I´m not alone.

After trying and trying different paths it finally works.
What I did:
1.) Flash the right firmware 2.xx (2.17.401.2 for me) via Download Mode and SD-Card method
2.) Flash the complete RUU for that firmware version with HTC nougat the same way like the firmware
3.) Booted the system to work.
4.) Flashed twrp 3.2.1.0 via Fastboot in Download Mode
5.) Booted Recovery and formated data and wiped everything (including system and data) except internal memory, external memory and USB-OTG
6.) Followed the instructions on lineagos website for installing lineageOS for the first time
6a.) Install lineageOS zip via recovery
6b.) NO(!!) wipe dalvik/cache
6c.) REBOOT into recovery (which is writen to be very important
6d.) Install gapps pico - and again no wipe dalvik afterwards
6e.) Flash lineageos_supersu zip
6f.) reboot system for the first time and be patient
System works. Hope i could help
Cheers

M9 in bootloop, TWRP stopped working

Hello all, my M9 has been crazy since some days. I have a lot of different problems and haven't been able to see what the common issue is, so I will list everything I know:
1. European M9 unlocked, baseband 01.01_U11440792_97.00.51203G_F, OS-3.35.401.32
2. Had official Android 6.0 and couldn't update OTA to Nougat (update crashing after 25%) so I tried rooting and flashing a custom ROM (RR-N-v5.8.0-20170106-himaul-Unofficial). Worked without problems for 3 months and 2 days ago my phone restarted and didn't boot to the rom anymore (I see the HTC logo with white background and red letters, after 10 seconds or so I see the logo of my rom but it freezes and restarts again, over and over again).
3. Tried flashing the same version stock rom with RUU method (renaming it to 0PJAIMG.zip and place it in sd card) and this failed because of a problem with the zip signature.
4. Tried another custom rom (ViperOneM9_6.1.0) and the same situation (I see the rom logo but freezes and restarts again)
5. After flashing the 2nd rom, my TWRP stopped working (I see the logo of TWRP and freezes, restart)
6. I tried using fastboot commands to boot to recovery and nothing happens, tried flashing different TWRP versions and still freezes.
So at the moment the working modes are only download and bootloader.
Any ideas of where the problem is?
I'm pretty used to flashing custom roms but never had such problems before, so my knowledge doesn't go that far. Also if you need logs, please give me some instructions on how to get them. Thanks
