Bluetooth Capabilities No APT-X HD :( - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

So I got the Pixel XL and to my surprise this thing does not even have APT-X or any kind of Hi Res Audio codec over bluetooth.
I am really let down because of this i really love the quality of sound that came out of my G5 over bluetooth.
How can they make a phone so expensive and not even include this technology I'm really disappointed . My Bluetooth headphones sound inferior now. Does anyone know if this can be implemented via a mod ? because the hardware is there its just codecs need to be installed.

It's a known thing, since before the phones have been shipped.
Not only it doesn't have apt-X HD, nor it has apt-X or AAC.
It use the old SBC.

No Google phone or tablet have ever had APT-X afaik.
The SBC isn't bad but it's clearly not as good to my ears as APTx.
Just another reason this phone isn't worth what we paid for it.
See my sig if you're a developer who wants to help with Aptx.

Use the Aux/headphone port. You will get better sound quality anyways.

What phones out there support it?

All samsungs do. It does provide better audio quality but not even close to the headset jack.
I did some formal testing in the past and it was very clear.

No HDMI-output is a bummer

For the most part I think MS did a great job in setting high-quality standards for their first gen phones and I'm very satisfied with my Focus. But the greedy power-nerd in me wishes the phones came with HDMI-output.
I'm a little confused as to why MS would leave this out actually. It is coming standard on a lot of high-end phones now. Unless they plan to use the Xbox 360 as an AirPlay-like streaming box (I don't know if you can do that as of now because I don't own one), how does MS expect to offer a competing video out feature?
I remember hearing a story about how MS was planning to introduce a USB-out feature and if they do that would be great because it would be cheaper than the ripoff third party HDMI docks. But I'm worried it won't be able to match up to HDMI's quality.
Anyway, I know this isn't a big deal and it shouldn't be at the top of the fixes/additions list for MS. But can you blame a guy who recently got a 50-inch? I want to use the damn thing for something besides football!
EDIT: I found the PocketNow article about USB A/V out. http://pocketnow.com/windows-phone/report-microsoft-bringing-microusb-a-v-out-to-windows-phone-7
they miss a standard IO port for using external addons hardware too

Please read if you want a speaker dock

i've been searching until i have final come across a peaker dock for the x10 on ebay
here is the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Dock-Speaker...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item230f93d21d
Well, its a speaker dock for sure. But its not strickly for the X10 or X8.
That is a universal dock that is being sold as an X10 Dock. I have seen several of them in discount stores and they have all been labeled different.
Blackberry / HTC / Samsung.
Reason being is that almost all the newer smartphones have a 3.5mm Headphone jack now and all it takes is a slot big enough to accomadate most any phone and you can call it what you want for whatever phone ya like.
PS:
I can't comment on sound quality as I have never seen one hooked up to anything and I sure it will work quite well with your phone. I was just giving a heads up
That looks like a fairly low quality solution.. you'd be better off getting a generic iPod dock - most of them are now compatible with headphone style input now.. here's my home one in use with my sexy new Arc !!! I also have a portable one.. Gear 4 Street party revolve.. for holidaying etc.. works with my phone and my kids ipods..

where did you order it?
From vodafone in the UK
Here's mine OP! I got mine from Vodafone UK too. My friend also got a pair with his, he got it through his brother who works at a Vodafone store. the headphones were a 10,000 pre order offer run by Vodafone. Can't believe they haven't sold more than 10,000 since launch date!!!
God bless vodafone XD, have you had a chance to try them out ? my phone is charging right now so i can't see what they are like.
What is the exact model of the headphones?
They're urBeats I think. They are basically the stock HTC headphone cabling with the in-line remote but with a pair for Beats ear plugs on the end. I tried em out in a phone call and the sound was very muted. the stock headset I got with my Desire HD sound better for voice calls. In music they were alright, my old Shures E3C's sounded better though. The Beats just have more bass is all. The Beats packaging is amazing though!!! Very high quality.

Sony MDR-1RBT, Bluetooth headphones that sound like WIRED ones.

Just wanted to give my opinion and maybe convince somebody that is looking for a good set of wirless headphones.
They are extremely comfortable and the battery life is ridiculous, they last up to 30 hours of playback music, that means that I've charged em just once since I got them, like a month ago, it's amazing. They can pair through NFC and the bluetooth pairing is extremely simple as well.
The sound guys is spectacular when you use the software like Viper4android, you can unleash the true potential of this headphones with differential sound, more base, impulsers etc..., really if you are looking for a headset that looks cool, sounds better and has the convience of wireless technology, look no further.
I use them mainly on my home or when traveling, I think they are too expensive to wear them in the street plus I don't like to risk my gadgets all that much.
Also, they have an attachable cable to use them in wired mode if you EVER run out of battery wich is almost impossible or you are on a plane. The difference when you plug the cable is almost imperceptible, is amazing how good they sound in wireless mode.

congrats on the new headphones... they look freakkin' awesome and comfy. also noticed they are kinda pricey... well, but i also think that it pays off to buy quality.... buying cheap usually means buying twice.
Any idea how these compare with the UE9000?

so lets talk specs:
Bluetooth V4.1
Support Voice Control
Ergonomic Design
High-Fidelity Stereo Sound
Support HSP, HFP, A2DP, AVRCP
Microphone with DSP for Noise Reduction and Echo Canceling
Power status indication for iPhone and iPad
over all look flexible black plastic. snug fit to head and inner ear canal.
So I found that these headphones sound to be ok for the use intended. not super bassy. but working out or doing yard work they fit the bill. battery life last for quit awhile. I wasn't expecting that at all. I was given these as a product sample to review. So i will give my honest unfiltered opinions.
So far i have connected to my android device. also my windows computer. i have made several phone calls. all parties said i sounded clear. For music playing such as Pandora. or even streaming your own collection from synced device simply put these function well. its hard to find a pair of wireless Bluetooth headset that will stay on my ears when running. these do just that.
over all for the price of they cant be beat. you can get them here from the source.
