Not for me, I get pretty clear audio here with no shake or vibration.
so you can't like feel the sound through your device?

I feel a very very small amount of vibration with the speaker at max volume but no rattle whatsoever, if your concerned about a bad speaker the best way to know is to really focus on the sound, no matter the size of the speaker it has a cone with a magnet, tweeters typically go bad and sound like a piece of paper slapping something. Due to the size of this speaker it may be hard to notice this imperfection but if your speaker has really bad quality then most likely it's no good.
If I have a bad speaker will it sound bad on all volumes?

Most likely, yeah it will, It may even give more clarity of a defect on lower volumes, I don't think it would be easy to find a speaker for the e4gt online so if your phones still under warranty, I would take it to a sprint service center and they will most likely repair it they're for you.
Just got it last week.

I know how you feel man, I had my first E4GT for a month then the screen went out as I was going to Vegas Nevada for a vacation and was relying on my phone as a camera
I bought the phone recently and I love it. But I have 1 very huge issue.
I can't undstand what people are saying sometimes. Quality on the S4 were crystal CLEAR, whether I have it in speaker mode or in normal mode, sometimes I can't make out what people are saying. It's like this phone has some really bad speaker quality.

Mine is as good on any other phone that I have had. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised with downward shooting sound compared to back firing. Perhaps you have a defective device.....mine is fine.
No issues here.

Maybe it was just me, phone is huge, positioning of the ear to speaker might of been it. Sound quality isn't super great but not as bad as I originally thought. Thanks for the reply. I don't think it's a defect, hope not lol bought this phone cash! 550
Does anybody else notice when watching videos, particularly, with people talking, that the bottom speaker rattles and distorts at higher volumes >50%?
I filed a RMA replacement for this very reason. My new device is shipped out today.

Do you think they'll do some kind of update like lower the overall volume to mask this? I've looked on reddit and a lot of other people are having the same issue.
I decided after posting here that it was bad enough that I would roll the dice on an RMA replacement as well. Anything above around 50% just sounds like crap and the entire glass surface kinda buzzes in your hand. I don't see that being fixed in software...

Let me know how your RMA device ends up. I was thinking that this could be due to the fact that the bottom speaker is louder than the top and that making them even would alleviate the problem?
Exact same issue. Also hope to hear how goes from those that RMA. I too notice it most with voices like the Google Assistant vs wider soudscape in music or video.
My speakers have very minor distortion on the highest volume, but any lower and there's none. Honestly the highest volume is much too loud for me anyway. These are the loudest speakers I've ever heard on a phone. They're just about as loud as my laptop.
No point in doing a RMA for this "issue" the volume is too high for the speakers. That or it's unbalanced, It's especially prevalent when you're making a call via speaker phone and ALL the volume is going through the bottom speaker. Both my friends units have it, I've been to three different Verizon stores and they all have it and same with the Best Buy units. Google will most likely lower the overall volume or correct the balance in a software update.
Shake, Rattle, and Roll.

I had the same complaint. RMA unit (that was brand new) also had the rattling. Annoying. Every tech I chat with has not heard of this problem but it is covered in the Pixel product forums and here. I'm RMA'ing this one as well for the hellofit .. and because I just love re-setting up the phone and my watch... etc.

Honestly you're probably just wasting your time and frustrating yourself. Out of all the units I've seen around 8~ both pure black and panda they all had the rattle especially on speakerphone calls because all the volume is coming only from the bottom. It's probably just cheap ass LG speakers that cannot handle the volume that Google has set. I'm assuming they will push a software update to make speakerphone calls on both speakers and lower the overall volume.
Actually, the rattling on my devices was out of the top speaker... One of the speakers was tuned louder than the other. Can't remember which one.
I got a rma. Same problem.
This speaker issue is probably the final issue that will make me return this phone. The rattle is really annoying. The other big issue is color accuracy. Natural and Boosted are not sRGB and too muted. Saturated mode is like cartoon land and browns appear as orange.
These issues would be far less magnified if this phone costed $200 less. But at this price, it's just not worth it for me. Feels like too many compromises.
Yeah noticed the rattle too on the bottom speaker. It's very noticeable at the 75% or above. I don't remember my original device having this so I'm not sure if it was just quieter as this one does seem noticeably loud.
I spoke with Google about this issue today and they stated the upcoming November update should fix it. I HIGHLY doubt it's a software issue, but I figured I would give it a chance. I still expect to have to RMA this thing after receiving the update.

This is a hardware fault in my opinion if you so lightly touch the speaker mesh it moves around, and it doesn't seem very firm to me. Not to mention the dust issue, I had my phone for a day or so and already I can see the dust build up around the speaker mesh (I'm very clean I don't just put my phone in any place). Too much room around the speaker mesh is probably an issue for long-term
I have this issue with my pixel 2 xl. I rma'd it and got another brand new replacement. The replacement device has the same issue.
The Nexus 6p had the same issue when it was released, Google then pushed an update and or was all fixed. Getting in this RMA vicious is not going to solve it.

I have this also but I thought somebody on YouTube said that Google turned the top speaker down for this reason but maybe they didn't turn it down enough.
I normally listen to buds, so I didn't notice on Day 1, but it's Day 6.
I noticed the bottom speaker tends to distort/rattle on low end even when not on Max volume. Is this normal for some of y'all?
This is what I use to test low-end
(1st track)
And my ROG 6 fails playing these tracks clearly in Poweramp.
Granted I am using a Treble-Bass preset on the EQ, but I always time the bass and low-end a few steps down because #1 I don't want bass must, and I want more clarity. I use the same disks for every device I use, phone/tablet speakers, earbuds, speakers... And everything performs great. But the ROG 6 just can't? I did do minor testing on Day 1 and didn't hear anything, but now I do hear noticable vibration.
Should I take it back? Is it normal and I'm being overly analytical?
I got my phone from Mobile Advance. They said if they couldn't replicate my issue, they charge a 20% restocking fee. Problem is 20% of $1200 is $240.
So please tell me y'all are hearing distortion/rattling too and it's not just me.
You can hear the distortion best at 13 seconds into investigation and the next 5 or 6 seconds after that.
And on Minstrel the audio is clearly clipping and distorting.
Volume is 80%
EQ looks like:
https://imgur.com/a/N6Qu3CI
This is a bass and treble boost, but it's so mild that it shouldn't be straining the speakers
System EQ is flat.
I also dealing with this:

All my other AMOLED devices I have in the house display this image so black you can't even tell the screen is actually on. My ROG 6 can't

Sad to say but yes.
As for your screen its ASUS rather poor implmentation of "green tint fix". You probably notice the lowest brightness level of the ASUS is much higher than some of your other phones, its their way of working around the green tint of these samsung panels.
The downgrade in hardware for the speakers + AMP is the reason why the quality isnt as good. The days of 1 amp per speakers are long gone.
On ASUS forums people are complaining about speakers a lot.
If you want more examples of how your speakers will go down the drain:
at 0:46

Honestly sounds like the speakers are about to blow up, even at lower volume levels. ASUS doesn't really give a damn tho, they claimed they "couldnt reproduce it" despite literally everyone else is able to easily reproduce it, honestly sounds like ASUS can't fix it and pretend its not a thing.
It's a repeat of the Rog3 where ASUS refused to fix the display where I had to come along and fix it via my kernel. Unless you find some devs that own the device and are bothered enough to fix it, you're out of luck.

I already issued a return for replacement. Not super hopeful after this thread but maybe the replacement will be better? I have/had a 30-day return window so if there was ever a time to try a replacement, now's the time.

Screen bleed was.
They could just argue the speakers are supposed to sound like how they do.
Screen bleed is undeniable.
And it really doesn't matter what excuse you/I/anyone should have to try for another replacement, if you have a 30 day return option to ameliorate a $1200 device investment, you should probably use it.
Hello has this distortion been fixed? Is the distortion only with the Chinese variants that have been flashed with global rom? Is the distortion affecting all batches or are there some batches that don’t have the distortion? I’m thinking of buying the global version, any help and info would be appreciated
Not fixed.
Sent back for replacement.

Make sure it's an authorized seller for the best buyer protection, best refund policy, and probably lower price. If you buy from a more riskier account.
I say that because you can buy from an independent seller and still likely get an ROG 6, but if you nit pick some things about the screen and speakers like I did, you most likely won't have much options to deal with it.
I got my phone 10 days before it's release, new in box sealed, unused phone... And 5 days later my problems started showing up.
Had I got my phone not from an authorized seller, of likely have a harder time convincing them for a replacement

Thanks for this information. I’m buying from a eBay business seller and they have a 30 day no quibble return policy. I’ll put the rog through extensive testing the second I receive it. Is the speaker issue the only problem I should look out for ? Anything else I should check ?

Speaker distortion is on the low end. So on base heavy audio, you'll hear rattling.
High end may sound a little tinny.
You can make the argument that these "Problems" were intentional and thats how they're supposed to sound.
However the faint glow of light bleed on the screen is a legit problem. It's an only noticable in low light but once you notice it, it's impossible to not notice.
AMOLED is supposed to have every pixel be it's own lightsource. So if the value is #000000, then the black should be so black that you can't even tell the display or that pixel is even supposed to be on. Well on my phone, it doesn't/didn't.
Not my only AMOLED devices don't have this is problem.
But the real big issue of having this faulty screen issue within 7 days of ownership is that the only other person here is telling me "Oh that's normal"

Would you say those issues are major in terms of will they affect future use? Are they irritating at all or can you look past them?
I just ordered my rog 6 from a uk seller brand new sealed so I’ll post on here about the sceeen and speakers if any issues that you’ve mentioned
They're nitpicking reasons that I felt I had to address because I was still within 30 days of a return/replace.
They're livable problems you could learn to tolerate.
But when ROG 6's own site and resellers are drawing extra attention to it's screen and speakers as marketing material to describe how they're the best, then you should expect them to be the best.

Sadly the screen is just some leftover garbage. E4 has been replaced by E5 last year. The speakers used to have dedicated amp per speaker (rog3) they also removed that. Its a massive downgrade. The E4 panel is nothing special either, ull find it on budget phones.
Just got my "replacement" with some good and bad news.
Good news. I got much better sounding speakers. The same problem I heard as little as 60% volume doesn't manifest itself until 100%
Bad news... Kind of... The light bleeding, fringing, glowing, whatever you wanna call it, is technically worse on the new model. It's no longer exclusive to the one corner of the phone, it fills up most the screen from top to bottom.
While this may sound worse than before, and technically is... But because the issue is more evenly distributed across the screen, it makes for a far, far less distracting issue. While it isn't 100% true black,
No longer is my eye drawn to the the one corner on dark screens. Now the entirety of the screen seems like it matches.
I suppose these phones arent going to come completely "perfect"
But as long as I can ignore or can't notice the issues, I'm more content. Out of sight, out of mind.
Has anyone feel the speaker quality is very bad now. Can't hear anything if my life depends on it. Can't watch YouTube videos or anything without Bluetooth. Anyone feels same?
It feels the same to me. Maybe check your device at an authorised service center.

Report it in the Samsung member app.
The more people who report things there, the bigger the chance that a patch will be issued.
