Greetings everyone.
Well, i come here after reading all threads i found about breaking screen lock password.
What can I say... nothing works...
But let's start from begginig. My younger sister was going home asleep and she changed her screen lock password (she loves to do it). As always, she wroted it on some piece of paper, but unfortunetly she lost it.
I've tried to unlock it by adb, but my sister never turns debugging mode on, so i tried and tried and also rooted phone, but when i write "adb shell rm /data/..." i always get "error: closed".
Is it any way to delete screen lock password with USB Debugging disabled?
The data from phone is very important, so wipe data/factory reset is not an option.
EDIT: well, i would be thankful for instructions for "retarded" person - any pointing all operations i must do and sny links to programs i must have will be helpful.

Hey Friends !
My friend messed up with pattern lock of HTC DESIRE and tried many wrong pattern and now phone locked and asking gmail password to unlock, unfortunately he forgot his gmail password since no longer using gmail.
Please help any solution for this to unlock phone ?
Thanks in advance !
Sorry, if already there is related thread.
Probably the only way he can do this without losing his data is to go to gmail and use the can't access your account link to retrieve his password. Otherwise you'll have to factory reset the phone. There may be other ways which i am unsure though.
On the unlock screen, attempt to enter your unlock pattern five times. When prompted to wait for 30 seconds, tap OK. If the display goes off, press the POWER button to turn the display back on, and then press the bar on the lock screen and slide your finger down to unlock the screen. Tap the Forgot Pattern button in the lower right corner when it appears. Enter your Google Account name and password, and then tap Sign in. You are then prompted to create a new screen unlock pattern. If you no longer want to use a screen unlock pattern to secure your phone, tap Cancel.
I know u dont remember the account but maybe theres some other option there.

Try nandroid backup your phone and see if you can extract the data out. For recovery, turn the phone off, press Vol down while pressing the power button and press volume button to point recovery and confirm with power button.

You can also delete the gesture.key to remove the pattern lock via adb.
If USB debugging is enabled :
Code:
adb shell rm /data/system/gesture.key
If not, go on recovery, mount all and delete gesture.key with adb !
Or crack it http://forensics.spreitzenbarth.de/2012/02/28/cracking-the-pattern-lock-on-android/ a bit difficult.

Thanks guys for your helps and suggestions
But guys I unlocked by very simple tricks
Just exposed the screen in light & see the trace mark of previously drawn lock series.
I got the finger marks ... here we done, unlocked cell
Somehow my password pattern is suddenly not detectable and it shows as wrong password. As there is no more option in lollipop for "forgot password" and using the gmail account to log in. How do I reset the password on a HTC M8 without doing a reset? I've tried logging into the google account, and I can use the "find" option in the device manager to locate the device, but if i press the "lock" button and try to enter a new password, for a split second it says "We have sent a lock request to the device", but then it says "Since Google has verified that a screen lock is already set, the password you entered won't be needed." Wtf is going on? I am stuck with a pattern locked phone of whose password i know but the phone doesnt detect it anymore. Is there another way to reset the password?
No replies?
Well.......
Let me start by saying that this is a delicate matter, what if the device is stolen and somebody wants to get the info or device to work without wiping it. I know that this is probably not your intention and that it is hard to prove otherwise. But the possibility could be there in the worst case scenario !
Now don't get the above personal, it's written from another point of view, as i am running HTC phones for the past 6 years and never encountered this all of a sudden at any point. So from my point of view i find it difficult to believe.
To get to your point ...... not sure if it can be done otherwise but to reset the device. Depends if it's rooted or not for instance ?
Cheers

According to the story, looks like either : 3rd party apps are interfering (can also be malware/virus) OR someone physically got hold of the device and changed the password(perhaps he thinks its his own)
Try restarting the device while holding the volume up button only, android will go into safe mode and disable all 3rd party apps. If the password still doesn't work, then you have 2 options:
1) if S-ON : factory reset and lose all user data
2) if S-OFF or bootloader unlocked: remove password (this is the most details I can give without being an accomplice)
Ok, Ill admit I didnt research things fully, and went on my merry way flashing things mercilessly in hopes to find something I really liked.
I ended up flashing a 7.0 rom and it wanted me to add a fingerprint, which meant I added a pattern. This put that damn pattern everyway, except fastboot/bootloader
I wanted to remove it, a user suggested a delete userdata and rebuild - I did that, only I deleted everything, all partitions.
Now, the code representation of my pattern doesnt work and recovery doesnt do much, doesnt mount anything.
Where, Im currently at / things Ive tried to get going again:
adb sideload: seems to work, says it serving the file, but nothing happens ( thought it was immediately supposed to start installing? ) Cant seem to find the file in sdcard or sideload. I suspect its because things are not being mounted.
fastboot works as Ive tried reinstalling TWRP in efforts to remove the damn password. That seemed to have installed, but the password persists and my old one ( the pattern above ) does not work.
Please tell me how to correct this password madness and get a working phone again.
same here +1
Ok so I flashed: cm-13.0-20160820-SNAPSHOT-ZNH5YAO0J6-oneplus3-recovery.img from https://download.cyanogenmod.org?device=oneplus3
and did a factory reset and Im up and running again.
You can turn off PIN on boot/ boot into TWRP but it's enabled by default and it's not obvious how to do it. You have to turn off the pattern (set your security type to None), then re-enable a pattern. At that point it will ask you if you want a pattern on boot or not.
This device had a messed up screen for a few months (the fade-out/black screen issue), and I now have been able to apply a temporary fix (paper wedge behind the mobo) so I can get to the screen again. I have found that I've actually forgotten the recovery PIN and the pattern lock I setup on the device.
I know I had enabled ADB at some point previously, but at this time it does not show up when I connect it to my computer (Linux system). I need to recover the data on it, if at all possible. Can anyone offer some insight on ways to get around this?
Thanks in advance
My father in law died last weekend and we don't know the pincode of his stock Nexus 5X. We can access his Google account and we know the pincode of his sim card. I hope someone can help us out to get access to his phone. Things we've tried:
- The vingerprint reader was setup but we've tried a lot of possible pins. We've tried his vinger yesterday but because of the attempts the pin is also required now.
- With a pattern lock you'll get a possibility to unlock through the Google account password after some attempts but his phone was secured with a vingerprint and/or pincode. Only the delay between attempts get increased, currently 16 minutes between them.
- The lock option from https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager, but because there is already a pin lock it doesn't work. The pin doesn't change.
- I've tried to access the phone through ADB, booted into the recovery but "adb devices" doesn't see the phone. When I choose to "install update through adb" I see the devices with "adb devices" but I can't use "adb shell", only sideloading works.
- Installing a custom recovery could work but the bootloader is locked, when I unlock it a full wipe will be performed so we still can't access the data.
- From the Play store in the browser on my Mac I've installed the androidlost.com app on the phone, but the app needs to be opened once before it can be used.
- A rubber ducky could help us out, but I don't have one and the time between attempts get increased and increased... it would take weeks, months or years to unlock.
What other possibilities do I have?
First sorry for your lost!
Second, i don´t know for sure, but maybe get the phone to the store where you bought it and explain the situation, maybe they will give a correct advice or like you said the phone is registed in google ( device manager) maybe if you contact them they will help you with that ( the problem is they probably will take a long time to reply or don´t reply at all) or wait for a more expert user than me here in xda,
again, sorry for your lost and hope you solve this problem,
cheers
If the phone was rooted with a recovery installed, YES, you could delete the passcode files and get into it, without root/recovery, you cannot get into it without the password, that is the point of encryption and passwords and all that jazz.... Yes there is probably a way for some high level hacker to do it but good luck finding that.... If you just want to be able to USE the phone, do a factory reset from recovery....
