Hi all.

Seems that web sites do not provide unlock coded . Is there any other way?
To root the phone etc?

I would also like to do this with my Telus note 7 and have done all the research. There is no way to do it and I don't believe there ever will be. Sorry bud

thanks man, truly sad. Gave the phone to a friend. Either she'll have to get sign with telus (if they have good monthly plans) or call samsung settle for something. Calling Samsung prolly will be a hustle even more.
I'm using my note and cannot be happier with it.

Telus has been aggressively pursuing me to get my Note7 back. User beware.
But they will never get my Note7...

Hehe thanks.
That phone is second hand. I bought it off someone. So if they will pursue its the guy who sold it to me. =)
I'll be just getting monthly plan and a SIM, don't think they will know which phone is in use.
Not sure how good Telus plans are, as FIDO have good deals, hard to beat them.

[Q] Stolen galaxy S3

Ok im new here mainly to try to find answers to my problem. Apparently i bought a stolen S3 that is blacklisted through AT&T. Phone turns on and looks like its brand new except i cant do anything on it (make calls, text, internet) my question is can there be ANY solution to this, or am i just SOL. Its fine if i am, but just figured i could try all options and thats when i stumbled upon this site. Im not asking anyone to do anything for me, just can it be done. Is it "locked" or "blocked" ? If i unlocked it would it work then? Please any help is appreciated

Unlocked might work on tmo 2g. Other services that use att might work on prepay.

Did AT&T tell you that it's blacklisted, or is that just your assumption? Just trying to make sure it isn't something else like a missing IMEI code.
And if it was stolen, I'd get rid of it if it were me. You can get in a lot of trouble for receiving stolen goods.
At any rate, not here to preach. You can unlock it for free using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34661189#post3466118
That said, if you use a T-Mobile sim card you'll probably only get Edge network, which is slower than dial-up (not really, but it is agonizingly slow). In some areas of the country T-Mobile has rolled out newer networks and you might get H+. Worth a shot at any rate. Good luck. :good:

Chances are, it could be blacklisted on all GSM networks, not just AT&T. All a person would need to do is call up respective customer care, and get it disabled. If he got it for one, I don't think he'd be stupid enough not to get it disabled on other MAJOR networks.
When you got it, didn't you put in your cell sim and check if it was working or not?

[Q] Sprint Galaxy Note 4 -- LTE Bands? Uniband? Dual-band? Tri-band?

One of the biggest reasons I didn't buy the Sprint Galaxy Note 3 was because of the device only supporting uniband LTE.
Do we know what kind of antennas the Sprint Note 4 will have from the FCC filings? I am hoping it's Tri-band. :good:
Here is a link to all of the documents if someone who knows what they're doing can gleen an answer:

I might have answered my own question, but confirmation would be nice:
I found these:
* LTE Band 26
* LTE Band 25 (PCS)
* LTE Band 41
It also appears to support MIMO Wifi
Yes it's going to be triband and thus spark enabled.

Sprint note 4?
Lets see if sprint locks the sim down on this phone just like they did on the note 3, if so, I will NOT purchase this handset. Samsung is trying the apple approach when it comes to developing its own eco system, giving users less options; Is anyone else hear worried about the sim lock? What about the new KNOX? I really dont want to go through all that again, ughhh

By sim lock do you mean not being able to use it on other carriers domestically?
As far as my understanding goes, isn't a bigger issue a locked bootloader than Knox since sprint could probably care less about Knox being tripped?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using XDA Free mobile app
That as well
We still dont have a way to unlock the N3 ( without sprint international or domestic ) So I assume it will be the same way on the N4. Lock bootloader im not so much concerned about, only because i doubt it will come with one. ( I could be wrong and if i am i apologize in advance lol ) If it comes with a locked bootloader, then i will simply rma it and not use my upgrade, ditch sprint and head to tmobile.

Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding what you said but to use your phone internationally all you have to do is call sprint for the unlock code. For domestic purposes sprint won't unlock it until after Feb 2015 for phones made after that date
Yeah I don't forsee the bootloader being unlocked but hopefully some devs will find a way around it? One can hope at least. Either way I'll stick with the note 4 as I'm coming from the s3 and got a good family plan so no plans of switching carriers.

No worries ..
My dear xda friend, you cant unlock the sim for international use if you are on the sprint easy pay program, even i fyou purchased your phone out right ( in my case anyway ) i have 3 lines with sprint and they wont allow me to unlock them, so i am s.o.l, even if i wasnt on easy pay, they told me that i have an old account that has an unsettled debt so they wont unlock it, even though it was proven to be fraud in court.
Thats even more of a reason to terminate service. im really disappointed with cell phone manufacturers, especially samsung, how do you not include usb 3.0 and temp and humidity sensors, some people actually use these for work, guess ill be sticking with my N3

Wasn't sprint the only carrier to send out the S5 with unlocked bootloader? So why would t-mobile leave the Note 4 alone but lock the S5? For me im good as long as there is a root but I also don't mind TW roms.

But i dont mind stock roms, i like tw, and regularly use my spen, i just want to be able to swap sims and carriers when and how i want.
Sprint released news a while back about devices manufactured in 2015 will be " unlockable" but the funny thing is, the law allowing you to unlock your phone expires next year< end of 2015. So sprint is trying to dodge that bullet, and im pretty sure the note 4 wont be unlockable

Should I ROOT?

Hello everyone I just got the lg g4 coming from the droid turbo what a great change it was. Worth it in every way except battery life. Thing is I wanted to see if it is worth rooting? Anyone have been for a bit and willing to share any improvements? What method is best to root and if so a way to unroot as well for future reasons? Thanks so much for your help.
Root has been achieved, but isn't available yet. Gotta wait.
I get great battery life. It gets better after a few charge cycles.
Even when root comes out I would wait a bit if you have a leased plan. I would not be surprised if some of the carriers start putting in a phone home that will immediately inform them when you root and then they send you a bill for the full amount of the phone right away.
A lot of these carriers switched to this leased phone way of doing business and people need to realize you don't own your phone! The carrier owns it.
Root is always a must for me. I like root explorer and Data Sync and Titanium backup.
I am rooting ASAP is comes out. This phone needs some work under the hood.

Not saying they did anything like that for this phone... although with the carrier IQ on some of the carriers who knows! I am just saying this is something to look out for in the future.
Listen... this whole leased phone thing that most of the carriers are trying is a fairly new concept. If you lease you do not own your phone. PERIOD. It isn't yours. The carrier technically owns the phone till you choose to pay it off(if they allow that and most do). What is to say that they won't want to detect if you root your phone. If they can tell you did then what? Since it isn't technically your phone what will they do? Will they care? Well, I'm sure they will see it that all those people can now tether without paying an addon charge and they are losing X amount in money since they are getting something for free. You or any other logical person may not see it as them losing money but that is not how companies view things.
Again, not saying this is something that will popup with the LG G4 and surprise everyone. I'm just saying watch out. There is a reason they won't unlock any of the US carrier bootloaders.
I doubt that carriers will be implementing that technique of being notifed right away when the phone gets rooted. If they do then one can sue or take to court because they are invading privacy.

Can the bootloader on an Unlocked att Note 4 be unlocked

Hi,
I know there is no way to unlock the bootloader on an att Note 4, but if ATT unlocks it would it become an International Version and can the bootloader be unlocked? Sorry if this is a dumb question.
Young fool.... only now do you realize the power of evil AT&T produces.
Now Rosachin, you will die.
(In all realness, no of course not. ATT ain't that nice nor will it ever be. You can unlock the phone in terms of cellular network but that's it.)
I cant believe I didnt come here before I bought 2 brand new at&t Note 4's Unlocked. What an idiot I am. Just never had a at&t and didnt think anything of it because everytime I have wanted to root and mod my previous phones, I never had a problem.. I never had at&t though.. uhhgg. maybe by the time I just cant stand the stock rom, they will unlock the bootloader? I dont know if that's how it works...
Oh well, sad man here.

Well, I just sent a return request for one of the note 4's. AND just bought a USED sm910T from ebay.
So, instead of me getting a brand new AT&T UNMODDABLE note 4, I will be getting a used but in great condition T-Mobile note 4.
And if I can get out of the restocking fees from the return, I will come out 50 bucks ahead. Cool.
The other new note 4 went to my daughter for xmas, and she already broke the screen. DOH!!
I lucked out this time I guess.
Cheers all.

Yeah man, I'ved used At&t for years. Some phones still ended up rooting and unlocked (Sky-Rocket, LG E970, and Note II) this is the 1st phone I purchased that couldn't be rooted to install ROMs and Mods. Very annoyed but glad to know after this experience we know not to buy from At&t directly. Either buy unlocked form Swappa, eBay or Amazon or know that you will be limited when you buy from carrier. In the mean time if you really want out, pay the bill so its clear for selling, and sell it online or in person. Also you can wait it out until the next upgrade.

Never again for me, not directly from AT&T & maybe not Samsung. [AT&T-Captivate, and VZ-Note2..rooted and other ROM'd but now ]. Question: what aspect of the hardware allows a carrier's specific bands of LTE to function? Or is it that the hardware is fully "plastic", capable of any LTE banding given the software[albeit locked] and SIM[mine unlocked] ? There are multiple Note4's. AT&Ts also runs UMTS and GSM. T's? Verizon's also runs its EV-DO. Perhaps these 2G, and 3G aspects become irrelevant and the 4G/LTE buildout completes, but the question remains over capability on carrier specific LTE bands.
With my SIM unlocked Note4 I used a VODA SIM this summer in Italy, but don't recall whether I had access to LTE , or evn which data mode functioned.
Ok, I hope I don't get in trouble for asking this here. . I tried to search but I'm not real good on this phone yet. . That's no excuse, I know. ..
Anyway, I received my T-Mobile Note 4 today and I want to root it right away as I am an owner of titanium backup and rom toolbox.
I am wondering if there is an easy way to root my device without installing a custom kernel AND not require a pc?
If I have to use a custom kernel, which one is the most stable?
My device specs are
SM-N910T3
Android 5.1.1
LMY47X.N910T3UVU1DOK2
KNOX 2.4.1
I have data turned off on my phone and disabled data from my carrier. I use WiFi and no data. .
Again I'm sorry for asking this but it's been a real long time since I have installed custom anything and my pc blue screens randomly so I'm afraid to try rooting my phone that way.
Please, step by step, easy tutorial or a link to where I need to go?
Thanks a bunch.

Since we are on the subject of bootloaders. It's been a while since I flashed a custom rom on a phone. But from what I remember, isn't the bootloader these pictures that I attached? I took pictures on my AT&T Note 4.
Thanks
Yes i have read the whole thing.
Ok, to cut a long story short;
i bought a note 4 on an online australian shop for $470 (really hard without a job)
Anyway, they noted that their phones are from GENUINE Suppliers and i got a Note 4 UNLOCKED from, you guessed it. AT&T.
Now i wasnt too fussed. I was happy i got a note 4 that wasnt a chinese brick phone, since it technically was refurbished from their Hong Kong Warehouse. Anyways
After like...idk 2 months? approx? i decided i wanna root it. Guess what?! BOOTLOADER. WHAT THE ***T!!
Anyway, i spoke to some people, one said he hasnt rooted a phone passed gen 6. and the other person said 'no cant root. Bootloader is locked and no way to bypass.'
Soo im wondering if its possible to root the phone without removing bootloader? I dont restart my phone much and the whole bootloader doesnt worry me so im just curious if i can chuck a stock rom on without worrying about the bootloader.
Some background info:
I am Australian, therefore my phone is running under Australian networks (Boost, Lyca, Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, etc)
It is filled with unwanted, unnecessary AT&T bloatware.

No root or bootloader unlock yet or maybe ever....u can disable all the att stuff but not remove completely without root. At least it will cleanup ure app drawer a lil.
AT&T note 4 update?
I'm seeing the most recent updates being in 2016. Is there any new updates on the progress of unlocking bootloader for this device?

Still waiting for a miracle to happen

Hi,
I know there is no way to unlock the bootloader on an att Note 4, but if ATT unlocks it would it become an International Version and can the bootloader be unlocked? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Ripping encrypted DVDs (or DVDs locked to a region) = unlocked
PlayStation 3 = reverse engineered
iPhone = jailbroken
Why isn't the AT&T Note4 unlocked yet? Would offering a bounty help? Is it impossible to unlock? Is it a matter of time? Is it a matter of throwing lots of computation power against the lock?
What will finally get the AT&T Note4 unlocked?

With that, the ATT Note 4 may very well be, the most secure mobile phone ever!

Is there no bounty offered? If each ATT Note4 owner chips in a few dollars, we could raise a bounty of several hundred dollars. Then some tech-wiz can take much time trying to unlock the bootloader.
Anybody else willing to contribute to a bounty?

Question Samsung remotely disabled Fold 3

Long story short, GF and I broke up, she didnt pay the remaining balance of our trade in, I had no idea she did that and now my fold 3 has been remotely disbled by Samsung, is there a way around this ?

Samsung would have entered in to a contract with only one of you. Rather than "our" trade-in, it would have been your girlfriends, I assume.
So, you could contact Samsung and see if you can take over the contract - or start another one?
But, it sounds like the phone isn't fully paid off, so isnt owned by either of you yet.
Thats my delima, its under my exes name and when I called Samsung they refused to talk any further. I tried to pay it off but they dont want to hear me. Is there another way such as rooting ?
Pisses me off, im out a S21 because of this for trading in and using a older iPhone which im no longer fond off since I switched to Android.
Long story short, send it back to your GF as it's hers and get one for yourself ...
Can't places like Cricket Wireless activate them? I guess I'm thinking of a device that's carrier-branded, with it being that Samsung locked it, not sure.

You should check the IMEI against blacklist database. If it was purchased through a provider, chances are it will not work on that carrier, but should on others. If Samsung has it blacklisted, you're basically screwed.
Really frustrating, im trying to pay the balance owed so it can be reinststed, trying to avoid buying another one altogether since I gave up my last phone as part of the trade on this. Samsung doesn't want to talk to me.

and when you got the email that Samsung was going to disable it you should have signed out of your Samsung account bc you don't need it to get the phone to work bc you can sign in to your google accounts that's a loophole i figured out how on my own bc I didn't know about it until Samsung sent me the emails bc its gotta be signed in on a Samsung account before they can disable it bc its gotta be log in on Samsungs server i got the email in late December and been using it since i have gotten my z fold 3 and also verzions rom splits the iemi number up as it does on Verizon phones bc on gsm the iemi number is all into one and then Samsung can only disable it when your signed in
they can remote lock it if they don't have Samsung account signed in and i also think its doesn't matter what Samsung account i think it only matters to the one that the phone was bought with but i ain't gonna test it tho i don't want a paperweight

I like how you think. Thanks for the info
I'm pretty sure your EX GF the owner of the phone is the only one Samsung can and will talk to.
If you can still reason with her I think your best bet would be to contact her and try and work something out
its in her best interests other wise it's just going against her credit. Maybe she'll let you take over the phone and payments.
