I can't seem to get my OP3 connView attachment 3920805View attachment 3920806ected to my Windows 10 Home 64bit laptop. This is really annoying. Already installed Oneplus 3 drivers, Windows 10 Media Feature Pack drivers. There is no connection prompt below status bar*as you get when you get when you connect your phone to PC (charging mode, MTP or PTP those kind). Device Manager in Windows 10 don't show any "unknown devices" or "Oneplus 3" or "MTP device". Already tried the "disable verification signature" at windows 10 boot options. Still nothing. Please help. This is going nuts.

But you can at least transfer files between PC and phone?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
I'm using Windows 10 x64, and I can connect without any problem.
When I connect the USB cable, I see a prompt in the notification area (notification.png) showing USB for charging. Touch for more options..
I select the notification, and I am given several choices (Use USB for choices.png):
Charging
File transfers
Photo transfer (PTP)
MIDI
I select File transfers, and then am able to see the contents of my OnePlus 3 from within Windows 10.
Are you not getting this notification from your OnePlus 3?

@everyone
If the phone is completely not detected and no notification, try enabling USB Debugging.
For the ones not seeing the phone in fastboot, look in device manager for Kedacom USB Driver, maybe under firmware. Right click, update, manually select driver, there should be a OnePlus option or at least Android. It'll work then. Windows automatically installs this stupid Kedacom driver for the OP3, don't know why.

Still no notification after debugging mode enabled. I tried fastboot too, no "kedacom driver" in device manager. May I know where is the kedacom driver normally placed at? Under unknown devices or just separate own tab of device manager? Any other solutions? Please help.

The phone is detected and is the last entry ("Universal Serial Bus devices") on your device manager screenshot. Expand that and see what it shows. Unplug your phone from computer and that entry should disappear.

OMG, this should be stickied. I was on this for three hours trying to figure out why fastboot wouldn't respond. ADB would recognize but fastboot wouldn't. Windows must have updated the driver recently because it worked a few days ago.

This is sometimes a bit finnicky. Try changing to PTP instead of MTP. If that doesn't work, enabled Android Debugging. For some odd reason, Windows 10 wouldn't discover the storage on my HTC One M9 unless I enabled debugging from the developer settings menu.

I've tried everything that you suggested... and I'm still having the same problem as the OP.
Did you open the notification that appears on your phone after you connect it to the pc and select mtp?
How about just using a USB OTG memory with Type-C connector, something like this...
http://www.amazon.com/WEme-Type-C-MacBook-Devices-Surface/dp/B013OIGJFE/
Yea MTP nor PTP didn't work. What I did was plug it in and wait for it to show up in device manager. Then I deleted the device from device manager. Then I unplugged the device and plugged it back in... Then waited for drivers to install on it's own. Everything was good after that.
When I connect Nexus 5X to a Windows 10 PC, I can't see it in File Explorer.
Many people said that one should change the option from charging only to MTP in the USB connection notification, appeared when plugged in. But I don't even have that notification, and cannot find the option anywhere else.
In Devices and Printers, there's a Nexus 5X under Unspecified; and in Device Manager, I can see a "ACER ADB Interface" there which I assume is for Nexus 5X. I tried to download Nexus driver from Google buy it seems is the same with the ACER ADB thing and is not helping.
Any tips or solutions? Thanks in advance!
PS. First xda thread started by me, yay!
UPDATE: After awhile, maybe it's because I slid the screen while connected, the notification did pop up. But EVEN after I chose MTP, there's still nothing in my File Explorer...
Hiya,
I had the same thing happen on my 5X. I was only able to get to the "Use USB for Charge / MTP" dialog by enabling Developer Mode.
To do that: Go to Settings / About Phone, and scroll all the way to the bottom.
Tap "Build number" seven times. On the sixth tap, you should see a message that says "one more tap will unlock Developer mode" or something to that effect.
Back-arrow to the Settings main menu.
Click on Developer options
Look for Networking / Select USB Configuration.
Choose the mode you want.
The notification should appear when you plug in the USB cable to your computer.

could be a driver issue?
download and install latest usb drivers.
Go to My Computer> Properties>Device Manager> Find the android device>Right Click update driver software>Browse My Computer>set to folder where you have usb driver saved and go from there?
You can also try to let me pick (instead of browse local folders) and pick the google ADB interface from there.
I have also had success in the past using other software (PdaNet) to manage the whole installataion of drivers; but this adds software to both phone and computer ... may or may not be useful.
After re-reading your first post its definately driver related. It shouldnt say Acer just ADB Interface or google adb interface.

Check Device Manager, is it listed as ACER Device? It probably is. It happened to me. Select the device, mouse right, update driver, choose "let me pick a driver" or something simmilar. Then you should get a list of compatible drivers and 2 entries, the current ACER driver and some generic USB driver. Choose the generic USB driver. That did the trick for me.
This i got from reddit . I had the same problem today this link helped me .. hope it helps you too

@arpan_pratik, Thank you! You are the best! This is exactly what my problem is and I solved it using your suggestion!
Although I didn't yet find any useful information from reddit regarding my issue, you must used some magic keywords
@The_Automator, thank you, too! It indeed is a driver issue. I tried many times to update the driver or uninstall the ACER ADB driver, but none of them worked. Didn't realize that it is Windows chose the wrong default driver. Don't know why, maybe it's because I installed adb before?
So, for the record, here are some key points to solve the problem:
The wrong driver for my Nexus 5X showed in Device Manager is ACER Device\ACER ADB Interface
No use to install Nexus driver from Google, even use "Browse my computer for driver software" and search the extracted Google driver folder. Windows will say the driver is up to date.
So I have to do this: In Device Manager -> RMB on ACER Device\ACER ADB Driver -> Properties -> Update Driver -> Browse my computer for driver software -> Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer -> check "Show compatible hardware" -> choose "MTP USB Driver" (this is a Microsoft driver under "standard MTP Device" category) -> Problem solved!
Then I can find my Nexus 5X in Device Manager here: Portable Devices\Nexus 5X
After the right driver installed, if I try again to update the driver using ""Search automatically for updated driver software", Windows 10 will actually install the wrong driver (ACER ADB) back!
Thank you all in this thread to help me exclude other possibilities, lock down the culprit and finally solve the issue!
Just got a Nexus 5X, and I'm having the same problem under Windows 10. I don't see an Acer device in Device Manager though, I see a "Nexus 5X" under "Other devices" with a yellow triangle exclamation mark.

If you have other android devices that is working on your PC, you'll notice that the driver used is the "wpdmtp.inf" you can get it on your 64-bit Windows on this location:
"C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_wpdmtp.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.16299.15_none_42867195f7d5106b\wpdmtp.inf"
Locate this file via device manager and choose "MTP USB Device"
And viola! You can now transfer files again in your Nexus 5x!

Nope, was never able to find a fix. If you do please let me know.
Yes I got it working. Since longer USB cables only shows unknown device I installed android development system and it made no difference.. But I had a 6inch charging cable that came with my power brick and I tried that and viola the Nexus showed up.. Not as a nexus 5x like before but as something like romaster composite ADB interface or something and I was able to flash TWRP recovery so now I can at least get access to it. Backed up the memory to a flash drive.. Have not flashed SU or anything yet but that should not be a problem with TWRP installed.. And like usual it takes a few flashes and rebooting into TWRP for it to stick other wise the recovery goes away.. Still dont know why the longer USB cables make any difference.. I even tried it out on a USB extension socket which is a 20 foot long USB extender and that also works.. So it must be something else like when I had the MB changed the adapter I was using did not work for data transfer.. Might be using some wire that is missing in the longer cable..

Try going to Developer Options>Disable USB Debugging, then reboot. Then connect your phone and try going to USB computer connection again, and enable whatever connection mode you want. You can re-enable USB debugging after that.

I'm at work now, but you use Explorer and go to the folder where you extracted the drivers and use right-click --> properties in one of the files there. There is a tab that lists certificates. Just to be sure you can temporally disable driver signing verification.

This instructions works in windows 8.1 and 10.

Doesn't work for me, it says it cannot find the files. In my win10 install i have two problems, ADB only works if i disable driver signing verification and MTP doesn't work. I tried running sfc /scannow and it says WinUSB is corrupt and cannot be repaired (probably why MTP does not work). I tried using intel drivers for both and it does not work. Only ASUS works (but fails because of certificate) for ADB Composite Device, but mtp doesn't work anyway.
This tutorial could help you anyway.

Hi Kras and thank for the response!
I Tried it too but in my device manager it wont show any device related to asus nor adb.
Tryied to boot into TWRP but no MTP either.
I Tried USDBview but doesnt show. The strange fact is that the phone charges normally.
It happened after i switched to CHARGE ONLY... after that, could never go back "/
I think i´ll try to revert EVERYTHING to stock. Somethings not right.
Another information, the cellphone charges, i´ve tryied to unistall and reinstall every adb usb_driver but in driver manager, nothing appears, even an exclamation. Tried to force install drivers, nothing either. All this happened after set CHARGE MODE i´m so pissed off and frustrated
This is a shot in the dark, but in device manager you can click View>Show hidden devices.
From there you can truly uninstall all drivers, and then reboot and try reinstalling. Maybe this will help.
Also, different ports, different cables?
If it's just for file transfers have you also tried something like AirDroid or Dropbox/Google Drive/Mega?
I got my OP3 today and am trying to unlock the bootloader. I've tried every tutorial and toolkit out there but they all get stuck at the same point in adb, "waiting for device". The "adb devices" command works fine but anything else gets stuck on "waiting for any device". I've tried googling the issue but none of the suggestions have worked so far. Any input would be great.
did you enable oem unlocking from developer options?
bro you may be running win 10 and to connect fastboot on that u need adb driver which u will find on windows update all u have to do is just connect your phone with data transfer mode and update the window 10 . ull find something name qalllcom its adb drive or i dont but after that it will like charm.
I have all the necessary developer options checked. After futzing with it for hours, I tried a different computer (also Windows 10) and it worked right away. I'm going to see what the driver issue is this evening because I still would like to use the original computer I was using. Thanks for the replies!

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers but when I plugin the phone, the wrong drivers get installed. Try this:
Connect the op3 to usb port - don't bother changing from "charging"
Right click on "ADB Interface" in dev man and disable it.
Without unplugging the op3 use the buttons to reboot into bootloader.
Hopefully W10 will now detect your op3 and either load the correct "oneplus" driver or create a new entry in dev man of Other Devices > Android Composite ADB Interface. Right click on this and then Update driver software > Browse my computer.... > Let me pick... > and if you're lucky One plus will show up in the manufacturer column and allow you to select the composite interface

Okay so this is the problem. I figured it out 2 days ago.
check the bootloader driver when you're in fastboot. Right click it and update driver, it should be the Android Bootloader 9.00, and not Bootloader 11.00
it's a silly weird fix, but it should be under Android and not Kedacom
I was using the Android SDK Studio Platform Tools and Google Drivers provided from SDK Studio

Similiar to the previous users post I'll try and be a bit more clear.
unplug your device if plugged in.
boot in to fastboot mode on your device.
Go to your PC and access device manager
plug your device in and you should see
"kedacom" instead of android interface
now inside you wanna click update driver
browse my compute for driver software > let me pick from a list of driver software > "Android adb sooner interface"
if its not that exact one check for the one that does say adb interface.

I created a bootable USB drive with Linux Mint to solve my problem. It was Windows 10 that would recognize my OnePlus 3 in "Fastboot Mode" with Kedacom drivers.
When i connect my phone to the pc the only thing i see is a cd drive with hisuite on it. I'm getting crazy, all of a sudden i can't transfer my files anymore. I looked all morning for a solution but i couldn't find one. Is there anyone who could help me?
Can you confirm you are using the connection in MTP mode?

when you connect to PC, check the phone. pull down the notification bar. there should be an option to change the mode.
also, since you're seeing that CD drive... on the PC, can you see any other drive that resembles the internal storage of the phone? i do see both the "CD drive" and my phone's internal storage.
iinm, under Develop Options, you can set the default. however, i've not gotten it to work at all -- selected MTP but still defaults to charging only, which I find useless.
I am using mtp and the only thing I see is this cd drive with hisuite on it. The thing is that this started to happen all of a sudden and only on this pc because on my laptop it works fine.
Just install Hisuite or Android USB drivers and connect it through MTP, it will recognise the device

Yes you can! Once your device is recognised as MTP device and drivers are installed, then you will see a Honor 8 Pro MTP device symbol in the Explorer, double click it and you can find it as normal USB Drive, then just copy paste like a USB Drive

I reinstalled hisuite but now it won't even show the window on the phone that authorizes adb connection. BTW i'm pretty sure that even when i managed to connect it to hisuite the only thing shown in the explorer was this damn cd drive
Why would you need hi suite? Transferring files doesn't need it. Just plug it in and select the mtp from notification on phone.

Try it in Linux to confirm this is a Windows problem.

i suggest you connect the phone, then from device manager, remove/ uninstall the driver... and let it detect and install the software again.

Try doing this
Go to Windows and search device manager
Remove all the MTP drivers
Select the driver and uninstall it.
Now install Hisuite before connecting your device to the PC.
And then restart your computer.
Now try plugging in your phone.
Hopefully the issue will resolve.
If not then just do all the above steps and instead of installing Hisuite, install Universal ADB Drivers and then try plugging in the phone.
just wondering... is there anyway to turn off/ disable this CD thingy? kinda annoying actually... pops up whenever I plug into my PC. even though i have set default action to do nothing, it is basically still there as CD drive and i can "eject" it. i wish for it to just go away...

If you have installed the Hisuite, it will go away! And then when you select the MTP, your device will be seen as Honor 8 Pro MTP device

thanks... **sigh**
not into installing any additional software. never liked such idea even when I was using Samsung. I have even enabled default connection mode as MTP under Developer Options, but it still defaults to charging only... annoying.
i guess worst case... when I can't stand it anymore, i'll install HiSuite.
