TWRP after restore no home button or fingerprint - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Hello all, sorry if this is duplicate but I cannot find this on search.
I know there is an issue with wrong passwords when recovering but I removed my screen lock ( pattern) so I removed my pin changed to none and now after restore my home button does not work and I have no option for fingerprint?
Any fixes for this or who do I do a backup properly.

Had a similar problem restoring my freedom os nandroid backup after flashing miui rom.. had to reflash the zip.. the home button and the fingerprint started working properly thereafter..

Flash the right firmware

What firmware you on its either 3.2.6 or .7 or your on 3.2.4 if your on .4 then flash either .6 or .7 and vise versa
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk

Thanks that fixed it, re-flashing the firmware. So it the correct way to back up then turn off password then after restore flash firmware?
Is this bug being addressed by TWRP? I have not had this issue before with my 1+1, 1+2,N6 or 5X, is this just an issue with the 1+3?
Sorry for posting this in wrong location BTW

HELP! Accidentally formatted firmware in recovery

My wifi & mobile networks are not working and some options in settings force close after clicking on them. I was flashing a new rom (cm11 4.4.4) on my Redmi 1s through cwm recovery and I accidentally formatted firmware and I think that's what caused this problem. Rest of the rom works fine, but practically without network and wifi a phone is useless. :crying:
What should I do now?
Would flashing a new firmware solve this problem?
I found this procedure on google, someone please help me and tell me if it works or suggest any other method.

Try re-flashing the official MIUI ROM using fastboot method (be warned that data and other stuff may be deleted in your internal storage when flashing using fastboot) then flash any custom ROM you want. See if that solves the problem.
Try to flash the stock rom via fastboot.

1)what software version are you on now?
2)what rom are you trying to flash?
Note4 Rocking a Hybrid Rom
Not long ago, it was discovered flashing the wrong recovery will mess up the lock-screen.
Some were solved with KIES firmware restore; no root, straight to dialer type *#2663# and then TSP FW update. If KIES won't update it, power down, pull battery 30 seconds, Odin stock tar and boot then the dialer code and update.
Do that after you determine which stock tar or KIES update is recommended from Your response above.

I am using
Cyanogenmod version
12.1-20150814-nightly-trltespr 5.1.1
kernel 3.10.40-gef59855
baseversion
N910PVPU4COG5
GALAXY NOTE 4 SPRINT
How ever im trying to flash back to stock evrything.
so that i can flash a rom that uses stock fetures of note 4 (windows mode etc)
the cm 12 does not utilize these and i need those badly.
so i tried to go back even factory reset wipe all cashes
but some reasn during all those fails my system UI says fail. and my touchscreen is not in sync correctly.
i heard of wiping system cache not sure if i done that but with TWRP i wipe everything but SD
it seems this has been a common issue the word we are looking for is calibration issues
it seems it happens to this person exactly how it is happening to me
there was a solution at the bottom but those buttons do not work for galaxy note 4 spr
does anyone know the codes for doing so ?

Did you see post 3?
I suspect you need to flash OG5 first. Use KIES or Odin. I would suggest wiping all but ExtSdCard and factory reset or format data partition, then power off; pull battery 30 seconds prior to stock tar or KIES recovery.
There's a guide you can follow as well as the OP in this post/thread. But see the steps on post 3, this thread. Boot into stock right after stock flash to try to recover your touch screen. If your touch screen is OK, then follow the guide below to root stock.

I recommend you flash this rom. Mostly stock but very stable, and the developer is working on some goodies.

I recommend that you back up everything you want to keep because you need to wipe everything EXCEPT external SD card. Wipe cache, dalvik , system, and data three times. Then factory reset three times and then flash this rom.

Odin stock tar and try again.
There's also an update to CFAR (Chainfire auto root) for Note 4. After you fix your touchscreen, root with it and make a TWRP backup once that is installed. A TWRP restore plus full un-root in SuperSU may make OTA possible; CFAR backs up stock recovery.
You can use Flashify to install custom recovery. You may have installed the wrong recovery to have the touch screen out of cal like it is.

Home button/fingerprint reader stopped working

I tried to flash freedom OS but wifi didnt work,so i flashed stock back and now everything works, except the home button/fingerprint reader. I guess i have to go back to the stock kernel as well, but how do i do that?
1. Backup, Wipe everything except Internal Storage.
2. Flash the latest firmware (3.2.6) (Search on xda)
3. Flash FreedomOS1.5 and select stock kernel, it'll encrypt if you are decrypted before)
Hope i helped
I have exactly the same problem. After trying Freedom OS I restore Resurrection Remix from backup and lost home button/fingerprint. Also fingerprint setup option disappear from the settings menu.
Can anyone please help

Sensor not working on Nexus 5X

Hello everyone, recently I have started digging into the world of modding so I tried rooting, custom ROMs and custom kernels. Everything was working fine until yesterday, when I decided to move from lineage to pure nexus with elementalX kernel. I had some trouble with the installation and I had to re flash the same ROM several times because it soft bricked( At the end the problem was the radio and bootloader version ).But when I configured the ROM I saw that the autorotation on YouTube wasn't working, so I started searching for solutions on Google but with no luck. I swear I've tried ALL the possibile solutions (installing an app to see if the proximity sensor works, reflashing pure nexus and Resurrection Remix and lineage and stock Nougat and stock Marshmallow ROM, wiping data cache system ART/DALVIK internal storage, factory resetting from stock, editing the proximity firmware manually, disassembling the phone to check hardware error and so on ) but I can't get this sensor working, I can't even find the cause of this faulty sensor . I would really appreciate ANY kind of suggestions, thanks in advance

Flash the vendor.img in TWRP or fastboot that matches the build name of the rom you are installing. This gets updated monthly so custom rom users need to flash this each month.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
I think am already updated with the latest vendor for my current ROM (pure nexus with N2G47F vendor.img)

Well, it looks like you'll have to wipe the entire device and reinstall the latest factory image.
Edit: Does autorotation work anywhere else?
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Sadly auto rotation doesn't work anywhere, I've wiped all the phone ( system, internal storage, dalvik and cache) and installed the latest factory image but the problem doesn't seem to solve..

Interesting, no working autorotation anywhere. Which factory image are you using (include entire file name)? Could you screenshot the computer after you run the entire command for installing factory image?
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
The zip file name of the image was (image-bullhead-n2g47)
I installed the factory.img manually because I had trouble with the flash-all.bat file.
I don't think I can take a screenshot of the computer anymore because the PC wasn't mine and I can't have access anymore.
I take it you have tried sensor apps to see if it gives any values,
I have the same problem, warranty states it is due to water damage.
Does anyone know where the sensor is on the board?

twrp ask for a password, help appreciated

Hello,
I whas trying another rom on my 5t and wanted to flash another rom to try out but when I go to recovery then it asks for a password. Did try different things found by other people but still no luck. Can't flash stock rom again because twrp is encrypted.
Is it possible to format partition so it is decrypted and then install twrp again and after that flash stockroom again.
I use latest blu spark twrp right now.
Also strange when I flashed a new rom ( default was stock) it deleted the internal storage data and my backups where gone. How is this possible?
I never had such issues with my oneplus 3.
Any solution or suggestion are mostly welcome.
Thanks in advance.
Regards ysco..
Did you try the lockscreen pin you put on your phone? It's a security feature as far as I know. I have a pin in freedom os and twrp requires the lockscreen pin that I set to boot.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
It does it for the stock recovery too. For that it's the password/PIN used for the lockscreen.
