Can't return to stock, help - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed Pixel Rom v3.0 on my Nexus 5x but I want to return to stock (Marshmallow or Nougat, whatever). I downloaded the correct factory images but when I flash MM (bullhead-mtc20k-factory-4a950470) everything is fine except that I am stuck at the Google logo and the phone won't boot. When I try to flash Nougat (bullhead-npf10c-factory-ab01b47a) i face an error concerning the system.img). Anyone can help me to find a solution to return to stock on my device?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Here is a amazing guide how to do almost everything with your phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206930 didn't work for me tho to i have a much bigger problem but you should give it a try.

In need of stock Marshmallow backup for T-mobile

I've been through a lot with this in the past 48 hours, and I finally got back to a bootable state. I feel like i'm almost there.
After the upgrade to 3.39.531.7 I couldnt get past app optimization and my device boot looped through the phase on 3 separate ROMS and a backup. Finally I found a ROM that atleast gets be to a home screen and allows me to move around, but I dont have wifi or cellular radios. I'm S-ON, so theres no reverting the firmware and I'm hoping that a fresh backup of 3.39.531.7 will get me on my feet again.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help. I decided to pay up and go S-OFF. It's worth it, because now i'm on the WWE firmware which is what everyone seems to be using as a base for their ROMs.

No problem! I was about to go the s-off route, but found this solution moments before doing so. For anyone else in the situation that we were in, simply download the TWRP files and restore through recovery.

Firmware Downgrade

Is it possible to downgrade to NDE63P from NDE63X? Wanting to root now that TWRP is available...

Well I'm trying to fix and issue I'm having with the camera flash, ever since the update it will only flash once and then will not work again with any app no matter what until I do a restart. It worked before the update and nothing happened to the phone so I wanted to see if going back might fix it before I have to get a refurbished one from Verizon.

Well first you need to unlock your bootloader: http://theroot.ninja/depixel8.html
After that, download the P factory image from Google's site and follow instructions to install. Just remember to backup stuff you want (photos, files, anything saved on storage) because unlocking will perform a factory reset.

Already unlocked and downloaded the images and tried to install as the directions but during the process it says boot.img and recovery.img is missing even though I did exactly what it said.

Not really sure what I'm doing wrong at this point and I'm stuck
Did you copy the files into the fastboot and adb program file?
They need to be in there for it to work.

Your using an outdated ADB and Fastboot (like 99% of the people on this forum).

Thank you, worked after that and I am back to P but unfortunately my flash is still not working correctly. Sucks in passed the 14 day return so I'll get a refurbished when the phone is practically brand new.

There might not be any refurbished phones to send you so you might luck out. Better to try now than later when they have a big stock of returned phones. Or I'm crazy and you'll get one either way...

Doubt you'd get a refurbished unit at this point, you'd still get one from replacement stock set aside for early issues.

You will need to unlock your bootloader. Why do you need to downgrade though? You can root and install TWRP on nde63x.

Downgrading from 6.0.1 - 5.1.1??????

First of all, let me say hello to everyone. I read the forums a lot but rarely post. This forum is a Great resource!! Thank you al for making it what it is.
Now, my issue. I have a Galaxy Note 4 SH-N910V which is currently running on 6.0.1.. From what I've read, I need to downgrade that to 5.1.1 just so I can root it, and then go from there. The problem is, I have to have root to flash a custom ROM. I seem to be stuck in a vicious cycle .
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get around this?
I want to root and then install a custom rom, but as you can see, I'm somewhat new to flashing and all that, and truth be told, I'm probably getting in over my head. It's all good though, i'muse to learning things the hard way
Thanks in advance!

You're correct, you will need to flash the bpa1 firmware for 5.1.1 and get your bootloader unlocked on Lp first. Here's a pretty good thread on the Lp unlock process and for downgrading your bootloader you can use this download. After you get unlocked on Lp, you can move forward to the unlock process for mm.
Cool, thanks. I've got it flashed to 5.1.1 but havent done anything with thee bootloader..

Hi Michael... I'm in the same boat as you... How did you flash the 5.1.1 rom?
I used the guide at the link below but I stopped at step 9 when I got stuck in a bootloop. I later found that a bootloop at that step is normal. You just pull your battery and leave it out for a minute and then fire it back up and it's ok.
Gonna give it another shot today.

Most of the forums on the note 4 on xda are very confusing because they include firmware/files you do not want to use to root and unlock.

You shouldn't get caught in a bootloop until you unlock. And that will be caused by the sd card. The process looks more daunting than it is. If you need any help, let me know.
I think I have a problem. I got to step 9 and got the bootloop so I panicked and flashed a recovery for 6.0.1. The phone works fine, but when I try to do a system restore it boots to recovery mode.it that top, in yellow, it shows 6.0.1. BUT,,, when I look at the "about phone", it does show that I'm on 5.1.1.
Should I continue with the process from step 9? Or should I just do a system update and start over with a fresh 6.0.1?
Edit,,,I should add that, I am able to get root with kingroot, but the phone reboots after a few minutes and root is gone.

What is the best rooting method for A70?

Hello,
I've had the A70 for about a year now and I'm really itching to get this rooted! I can see a few posts that people are successfully rooting their A70.
What's the best 100% working method to install Trwp and rooted? I don't want a method that you have to mess about with pressing buttons just to make the phone boot I'd rather wait for a fully working method.
Thanks

Samsung A70 requires following instructions to the word for successful root.
I for one had problem having stable root on stock Android 9 with twrp recovery.
I have tried lots of guides, none but the one linked in my signature which is not eve mine, actually worked for me
