Anyway to hide the software nav buttons in different apps? Like home screen? It can help reducing burn ins.

You can root and use another type of navigation like Pie. You would have to edit build prop with
"qemu.hw.mainkeys = 1"
Ugh... Didn't really want to root

Yes, LMT and SwiftKey.
I was looking for a way to make the nav buttons transparent / translucent like they are in Google Now, but for all apps.
Would probably consider rooting if i could do something like that
I would love to swap the multi tasking button with the back button, anyway to do it without xposed?

I was wondering if a tweak can be made by adding something like this to work anywhere on the phone since most devs haven't updated their apps to hide the soft buttons. Thoughts?

i tried looking for code how to show and hide the soft buttons but cant find it.
It wouldn't be particularly hard, but...wouldn't you have to press power to show them again? Seems counter-intuitive.

Yea exactly. This is needed for full screen video apps that haven't updated their apps yet like Slingplayer. Would be an awesome feature.
Can't imagine the wear and tear the power button would have to go through.. I think a toggle in the notification dropdown would be nice
What about putting three fingers on the screen and pulling down to hide them and three fingers going up to show them
Ability to use full 720p for anything with a soft key overlay toggle is all I want changed from how Nexus is currently

wear and tear? u already use that button to turn on/off the screen and its not like this is something that would be used in every app. a toggle in notification would not work because the status bar is not accessible while watching a video in certain apps.
still looking for this
why not install lmt i used that for a while http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1564253
lmt and the fullscreen mod for the galaxy nexus = fullscreen awesomeness lol

Mines hidden on stock rooted.
Yes I am running FreeGS3 but all of the battery mods that have what I am looking for also have the ever annoying full battery notification with screen on. I have been trying to find someone who could help me fix one of the battery mods that has the desired settings but no one has stepped up yet. I don't know how to edit the files themselves.
Does anyone know how to fix this? When I change the size to "tall" for gbored the emojis are small when it's one "medium" they are big I would like to have my keyboard set to tall but also have the big emojis.

Hi, everyone. I really like the design of original Android pie, I am using Havoc OS 2.0 which is a wonderful rom. Swap up on home button and switch apps is very attractive to me. But there is only one problem, The Google search, I am from mainland China and it's unconvinced for me to use this app, and to be honest I don't like this design that much either, so I wonder is there any way to hide Google search bar in the bottom? I tried disable Google app. But search bar is still in the bottom and when I touch it I went to the app information page of Google. The other third launchers aren't smooth as pixel launcher. :crying:
Could you please give me any suggestions? Thanks.

I couldn't find this in my phone. Maybe we are using different systems.
I'm about to install a custom ROM on my Pixel 3 XL, but before I do, I wanted to know if there was a way to get the Navigation Menu Button back in Android 10? If there is not a way to do that, I'll be opting for Android 9. Or are there any other alternatives that allow me to have the ability to access that menu? I use two older apps that both have that menu for my CCTV camera software and I don't want to give that up. Any help on this is appreciated. Thx.

I use gesture navigation with Vivid Navigation Gestures (OnePlus Gestures), which supports the menu button via gesture in android 9. Not sure about android 10 but worth looking into, if you want to move to gesture navigation. Used with Hide Navigation Bar.
google is trying to get rid of this... https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/...utton-has-finally-been-retired-in-android-10/
Thanks guys. I'll check those apps out and see if I can get it working. Appreciate the help.
