Scrtn??? Will it hurt? - Sprint Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I use Sprint Note 4, but I'm unlocked sim to use Cricket. I understand that by doing SCRTN resets the device to like new before service. So my question is, is it safe for me to do this? Will it affect my sim unlock or IMEI or EFS folder?
Any info will be appreciated, thanks.

Thanks,
I could always unlock it again. My big concern was my IMEI and EFS folder.
I'm not currently going to do it. I have no need to, but was just trying to understand it more. In case I was to sell phone and reset it.
Thanks for your reply

My phone started to ask for the SIM network unlock pin after a flashed the stock 4.0.2 downloaded from Google. I purchased an unlock code, but I have no idea if it will work as I haven't received it yet.
How do i know what is my phone from i bought it from some wholeseller and its locked. Plz help
The unlock code worked fine. For some reason, it asks for it every time I burn a new ROM. Seems that a number of people have the same problem. The same code works, fortunately.

I have no first hand knowledge about Verizon, or CDMA for that matter, as we use GSM in Europe. I believe it should be the same, but perhaps someone from the States can help.

Same Here - On Vodafone Australia, i can get the unlock code for free but every time i re-flash a ROM i have to unlock the network. - Annoying - but as pedmond mentioned at least we can use the same unlock code as it is calculated on your personal handsets IMEI number..
Not experienced this with any other handset after unlocking the network carrier..

I send it the IMEI. You have to use the code everytime you flash new rom.
Has anybody figured out whether or not the sim-lock persists when flashing back to a stock yakuxw-ROM?
As far as i know the sim-network-lock issue happens when going from a Galaxy Nexus with a yakuxw-ROM by factory to an alternate ROM (happens in my case when i flashed the IMM76D by google).

Dinc's on verizion have an unlock code but its the same for everyone six zeros (000000). To switch a phone over your self you would need a pc a program called qpst, and all the needed info and prl file from the carrier your switching too. Its fairly complicated, but can be done.

Same method but sprint has specific lock codes. I believe there is an app on the market " mslreader " that can find you the code off of the sprint phone.

Unlock Code From AT&T Not Working - What Can I Do? [HELP]

I was given the unlock code and it still says request to unlock network unsuccessful, it's eligible to be unlocked...
All help would be greatly appreciated.
Should I try flashing over back to this stock rom and then see: http://server10.stockroms.net/download/GalaxyNote2/SGH-I317/I317UCALJ2_I317ATTALJ2_ATT.zip
I hate being stuck in a rut like this, already had my account transfered to a T-Mobile microsim. This is driving me nuts...
The person I bought this phone from said they updated but then when I checked it was still at 4.1.2 and said something about update interrupted...
Or which of these should I use: http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=71
Flashing a Rom won't unlocknyour phone..... Also what do you mean your still on 4.1.2?? That is the latest Rom for the phone. ... Where are you obtaining your unlock code from? The only time att provides it themselves is over the phone. You sure your not getting the wrong code?

Yes I got the code from AT&T over the phone, called them twice and got the same code 1-800-331-0500 they gave me 41907314... According to this: http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-note-2-tutorials/how-to-unlock-sim-for-free-on-gsm-galaxy-note-2/ if ya take the newest update, ya can't sim unlock the phone cause it takes out the “NW Lock NV Data Initiallize” (Step #9) according to YouTube user comments...
THIS IS WHY I'm wondering what Stock firmware I need to downgrade back to in order to get that option again and be able to sim unlock my phone.
So I'm wondering if it's I317UCALJ2 or I317UCALK7 that re-enables that option for me. Right now I'm on I317UCAMA4...

Sorry bout the 2 posts, I thought it'd auto-append them to my main post...
Okay now I keep getting errors on installing about a signature and then two file locations sdCard0 and I think extsdCard...
How can I fix this do I copy the image to sdCard (InnerSD)? Or do I need CWM to install for Scott's Stock ROMs?
Yup that worked, I had to use Odin and this image http://server10.stockroms.net/download/GalaxyNote2/SGH-I317/I317UCALJ2_I317ATTALJ2_ATT.zip and followed these instructions on installing it: http://androidromupdate.com/2012/11...y-note-2-sgh-i317-original-factory-stock-rom/ then unlocked it with the directions galaxynote2root.com had listed...

No I mean while doing this process? Odin thing.. does it matter which SIM I have to keep in note
This http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-note-2-tutorials/how-to-unlock-sim-for-free-on-gsm-galaxy-note-2/ is the tute I believe, gotta remember it's been 2 months since I did this, so I'm not quite 100% certain. LoL
I'll be having to do it all over again too, by the end of this week possibly, since some jerk decided to steal my note 2 I had to go to ebay and win a new one.
I don't think it'd matter during the Odin flash with a AT&T sim card or T-Mobile one in it, I can't remember if I did it with or without a sim card, but to be on the safe side I'd do it without a T-Mobile sim card in it, just for that first successful boot... Then do the 4.1.1 unlock code method, take the back and battery off then pop in the T-Mobile sim card(Or whatever other non-AT&T carrier sim card) and see if it done it correctly...

I bought an AT&T live demo note 2 that was used in an AT&T store. I used this method from youtube, popped in my niece's T-Mobile microsd and dialed 611. T-Mobile's customer service rang and answered showing it worked. You need 4.1.1 to use this method though. I'm going get me a microsim today since my vibrant doesn't use the micro.

You do not really need the unlock code. Do a search in the forum as you cam just unlock it with Samsung' service menu.

The above is not true - if your phone has upgraded firmware, you will NOT see the item "NW LOCK NV RAM...." in your "NETWORK LOCK" "PHONE CONTROL" menu.
So, the ONLY two solutions are:
1) keep bugging ATT to create a case for you and investigate
2) downgrade to 4.1.1 modem (NEED TO READ/UNDERSTAND HOW TO FLASH etc.)
then apply the Samsung service menu "fix" as shown in the above video...*
*Then, you could upgrade to newer ROM... if you wish....:cyclops:

No service, unknown Carrier, etc

Hey guys, recently bought a N910V 'GSM unlocked' from the US to NZ so I can save myself a bit of money. Holy **** i was wrong.
I've spent 3 days so far trying to fix it because of no signal, carrier searching error etc.
Its currently Boot loader unlocked, Custom ROM installed, Modem flashed. Still nothing :crying:
Only thing left I can think of is messing with CSC, EFS, QCN (started learning 3 days ago so pls excuse my newbiness :silly: )
Could someone with experience please point me in the right direction and pull me out of this world of trouble?
p.s IMEI is clean and I haven't deleted any partitions.

Verizon Mobile Getting Bootloader Unlocked

Hi, I lost my Pixel 2 xl last week from my pocket. and bought a used one from a local shop here in Pakistan . Later when I tried to unlock bootloader , I found out it was a verizon model and I can't unlock it no matter what.
I just wanted to know that if I get the IMEI changed of this device, Will I be able to get the bootloader unlocked?? as the imei is the part which recognizes it as a verizon model
As far as I understand, verizon encrypts their bootloader and imei has nothing to do with that... Please correct me if I'm wrong.
AFAIK there is no hope of having a Verizon variant Pixel 2 XL with an unlocked bootloader.
I do know that several people have purchased "unlocked" devices only to find out the "unlocked" referred to their ability to be used on any carrier network; NOT to have the bootloader unlocked.

No, they are not related. You can google it if you'd like. Unlocking or relocking the bootloader will have no effect on the IMEI number. However, changing the IMEI number is considered illegal in several countries. So check your local regulations before you attempt to do so.

Thankyou . Well Yes it is illegal in my country too but I thought I could take the help of local police for that. but I guess after your reply it's useless to change the IMEI number
