In dailer app shortcut only new contact option is showing , fav contacts are not showing.
What's the problem?
Is there any solution?
have you tried actually calling someone? i think my shortcuts appeared after i did a few calls
I don't think it's related to the favorite contacts, but instead the 3 most recent calls.

I've just updated to 4.2.1 (rooted version) and noticed that while using stock dialer, the contacts profile photo is not displayed
during a call or when the phone rings for incoming call.
In the contacts application the pictures do show up as they should.
Any idea how to fix ?
first, call and hang up anyone. then go to dialer app and swipe left to go recents and tap the empty contact icon(left of the contact) whoever you want, then select another contact photo.

So the contacts pictures can't be synced with my Gmail contacts automatically ? I need to add the pictures manually
one by one on the phone itself ?
This has been bugging me for a while now. I have a galaxy S4 with stock 4.4.2 and i have checked the 'hide contacts without number' option in the contacts list what doesn't seem to apply when I search my contacts. It only works when I'm browsing if I search for a name then it shows all the profiles that was hidden before, giving me an annoying time finding the right one with the number between the other matched ones with email address only. Is there any way to work around that and really hide those contacts without number from the stock dialer app?
I can't seem to send messages on SIM2 or choose how my call gets through, there is no sim icon in either messaging or in the call settings. I have H818N.
I can assign contacts permanently to either SIM - which gets used for calling but not for SMS.
Also any way to assign SMS also to particular sim for particular contacts?
EDIT: I can change global setting on which sim to use through the notification icons, but any way to do it on a per call/sms basis?
PS1: I have updated the firmware to the latest version
PS2: Any dual sim good SMS app?
Same problem here on h818n.
Did you find out yet?
As you said, you can assign the default sim for calls and sms from the quicksettings in the status bar dropdown. Couldn't find a way to make the dialer just ask wich sim to use each time tho.
As sms app i like the Google Messenger app.
As dialer i'm trying TrueDialer.
On both u can tap the sim icon and pick a sim b4 calling\sending the sms.
Has this issue been solved through software updates by LG, Or do we have to resort to using third party apps?
Nopes not yet. I still can't put a default sim for SMS. Also if I have set a default sim for a contact, I can only use that sim, which is a major inconvenience. There should be an easy way to call from the other sim.
Also would suggest using the default sms app - dual sim support of other apps is sketchy at best.
Back when I had Sense on Marshmallow, using the Do Not Disturb (Priority Only) would result in ANY from of communication from a specific contact come through and ringing. Doesn't matter if it's regular calls and text or WhatsApp.
I am now on GPe running Marshmallow 6.0 MRA58K.H15 and setting up notification is a bit of a headache. I have my contacts starred, which I believe is priority contacts. However, when they called, it lights up the screen but doesn't ring. I didn't try text but WhatsApp notifications also doesn't come in. If I flip priority notification for WhatsApp, it works. However, then all WhatsApp notification will ring.
What I want to happen is when Do No Disturb mode is set to Priority Only, notification from my Starred Contacts come through, be it on WhatsApp or regular calls and texts. Just like when I was running Sense on Marshmallow. How do I do this?
ALSO
WhatsApp Notifications and some other apps doesn't ring when the phone idles. It's as if it goes into Doze mode. Despite WhatsApp being "Not Optimised" in the settings. Any help with that?
I have Push Notification Fix installed and have heartbeat set to 1 and 2 minutes. Still experience delay.

FYI I have the following installed:
Xposed Frameworks
Android N-ify
GravityBox [MM]
Systemless root (Although I think I broke this because of the framework I installed)

When a contact is stared means it's in your favorites list, but doesn't mean they are in the priority list. I believe you have to manually configure the priority list, approving the contacts you wish to be in that list.

How do I do this on Stock Android?
I have found a solution to the problem above. It turns out HTC broke the feature by adding their own code, requiring VIP status like discussed above.
The fix for it, is found here for the GPe edition.
If I missed a call, the Miui Dialer does not show this. Neither as a notification, not in the notification bar and not on the AOD. I installed the Goggledialer on a trial basis and everything works normally. But the Google Dialer is technically underground, so I would like to use the Miui Dialer. But not usable with this bug! Maybe someone here has the same problem and maybe even a solution for me !?
Clean cache and data from contacts and dialer app...or try to update it....you can find updates to apkmirror site.
