I bought it off ebay, but it has screen burn. It was advertised as excellent condition, until I saw burn. Got it for 180 and around over 6 bucks for shipping. Seller was OK if I returned. Wondering if it'll get worse.

BTW a screen shot does not show screen burn you have to take a picture from another device. To show the Super AMOLED screen

I have a keyboard screen burn on mine it hasn't gotten worse but on a white screen you can see a whole keyboard.

use a screen burn remover app. They actually work but it takes more for amoled displays i noticed. I remember having one that would flash the whole screen r,b,g,w and you were told to set the screen to max brightness just so it warms up a bit.

Can you attach the image? Does it look too yellow on the phone's screen or on a computer screen, or both?
mmm i see let chek
Looks normal to me on a calibrated monitor. Whites are white in the second image; in the first image, the White Balance just might be off a little. And it's out of focus.
to yellow the pics or not ?
i think my camera it's bad
anyone please
Youre not alone. I have the same yellowish tint on mine. Happens in low light/ indoors only

This probably is a software issue. Hope it gets fix in future updates

Yeah the zero shutter lag is pretty useless as it misses focus most of the time.

Sure its not the flash causing it? Most of my pictures look fine and I have beige carpet.

does the GN have white balance categories like cm7?
like auto, incandescent, daylight etc?
I agree with the person who posted earlier - is does seem to be something that only affects it indoors. It does come with different "scenes," but I haven't experimented with that yet.

lmao. dude. there seems to be a bit of yellow in your house. it called ambient light or reflections. everything seems to be normal. should definitely check the pictures on a better screen and not on the nexus to verify. people with blue ceilings, wal: and carpets can get a bluish effect or whatever is your situation.
Yeah, it's just an incorrect Auto White Balance. Just change the White Balance in settings. There's nothing faulty here.
User error.
Discuss.
I don't think its user error. My sgs2 doesnt have this yellow effect when set on auto.

[Q] Does this look washed out? Is it a faulty screen?

Take a look at this screenshot of my phone. Does it look washed out to you? I think it's horribly washed out. I had a serious hardware issue with my phone (the microphone failed completely - I even reverted to 100% stock and the issue persisted).

So I had a warranty replacement and this new phone's screen seems horribly washed out. I took a screenshot which I've posted here, but I'm not sure if it does justice to how bad the screen seems to my eyes.
The background looks gray but is supposed to be much more black looking (Tapatalk dark view).
Should I request a replacement due to screen issues?

You do realize that the screenshot will absolutely show nothing that the physical screen is showing you? It's effectively showing a "video out" of the screen. Its showing what the phone hardware is sending to the screen.
You have to take a picture of the screen with another camera...
Looks fine on my iPad 2.

Looks perfectly fine on my notebook too. LOL.
Ya do what the 2nd guy said.
Sometimes my Tapatalk looks like this and other times the app is actually black. Are you saying my screen goes from washed out to not washed out?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I think what he is seeing is the HW acceleration gradient present in ICS.
To the OP, if you go to your settings, do you see the same gradient running from the bottom of the screen and getting progressively darker near the top?
I would recommend using Franco's kernel until voodoo comes out. To me the "hue" is slightly yellowish on stock. Using Franco's kernel it's much nicer.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
It isn't washed out. That gradient you see means hardware acceleration is currently enabled.

strange screen problems

hi all XDA's

as you see in the previous picture
in the upper part of the screen there is a less than 1 cm bar thick, which is much whiter than the rest of the screen and there is a smile face and clip icon on the right of that bar
its identical to whatsapp chat bar
the problem is that this bar is like a back light on the screen its showing in the screen where ever you are at and its so clear to see on a white or gray back grounds its even noticeable on CWM , its so annoying and defecting the beautiful screen of my note 2. :crying:
cant seem to understand how or why that happened
could it be that my screen is a defected unit ?? cuz my brother's note 2 is just fine
right now i dont know what to do i asked a mobile's repair shop for new screen and he said it will cost me 300$ (its half price of a new device)
here is more pix
*note : it may be no so clear to see on those pictures but in real its so clear and ugly

so the only solution is to replace the screen with new one right ???
and do u think that the one year guarantee that came with the device should cover this ??
thanks all for helping
i make up my mind
the screen is so annoying cant live with it and even the colors tune is less brighter than it was and more yellow-ish i started to hate the phone cuz of the screen
and the new screen will cost me 300$ and its too much its almost a price of a new mid range android device
i decided to sell it and buy HTC one but not so sure
i will think about it and do some researches on the HTC one and see if it is good enough
damn you samsung you always disappoint me with your super amoled problems

GS3 screen burn-in

I've had my GS3 for about a year now and I'm seeing some unfortunate burn-in on the lower row of icons (the ones that don't move from screen-to-screen), and the main clock/weather widget, particularly when the screen is all white (as in bringing up a web page in my browser).
I was very surprised to see this, especially since I do NOT leave the screen on just at the home menu screen, my timeout is set to 1 min, but I'll hit the button to kill the screen most times.
I was under the impression that the newer screens, like on the GS3 and other phones were not supposed to even get burn-in like this? How many others are seeing this?
I've had burn in on mine for a while. The top status bar is burned in a little and a Reddit icon from the Reddit Is Fun app. Not too easy too see unless you go to a bright screen and look for it, but it's there. It's been like that for about 6 months and I got the phone last September.
Wife had the same issue, Sprint replaced the screen under insurance. Didn't have to ship it off or pay anything.

Crazy didn't even know that was still an issue with today's display tech. I have yet to see it happen on any of my Samsung phones.

I've got a little bit of burn in. In the right light and a white background you can just make out Poweramp controls.

burn in is an issue with all amoled screens...
I got the s3 sph-l710
is there any app or any solution to minor burn in other than replacing the lcd?
I had it on my S2 but not on the S3.

Well what about this app called "burn in tool"? I'm reading good user reviews about it... Is it just a placebo effect?

Anyone else potentially a bad screen? - Note7 just got it

I just got it yesterday and I noticed on a lot of screens it looks like bad rendering follows it around. The most noticeable is under display settings, mid to low brightness. When you change the screen mode it shows it in some modes very clearly. Does anyone else see this? I will try to upload a picture.
I uploaded a video to youtube, you can clearly see the issue on the left side of the screen:

My phone does not look like this at all. Your screen may be defective, i'd suggest an RMA.

Cool, Thanks Let me contact Tmobile and see about the RMA
Both the violet streak and the lines that come up when you change the brightness points to a faulty display the exact same issue with the S7 and S7E
Can you guys check your tapatalk app in night mode. Mine looks washed out in the left bottom corner. Is that normal on yours too? My note 4 does not look like this.

It wasnt that, it was messed up colors showing up on the screen based on constrasting areas of the screen. THeres a video in the first post and another here where you can see the issue. This doesn't show up in screenshots I send to the computer so I know its a display problem.

My Note 7 had similar purple / pink hue on all around the edges. It's not so pronounced and I had to argue with the service adviser before the accept for warranty claim. Went in for RMA today.
International version. Sorry, didn't capture any video or images of the defect.
Thisis what i see a greenish wahsed out screen with dark gray.
