Which ROMs give notification LED customization? - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

As the title indicates, has anyone found any ROM that gives the ability to customize the notification LED? I would like to use Light Flow or Light Manager, but it just does not behave on stock OOS, latest update. I can not find any info in any of the ROM threads, from Sultan to Freedom to RR.
Thanks

Are you looking to do more than just change the color? Because OOS does offer the ability to change LED color, though it's not completely customizable.

Yeah, the OOS LED customization is ****. Like I said, I want to be able to use Light Flow or Light Manager, and nearly anyone who has used either program on (even rooted) OOS can attest that they barely work properly.

Sultans Rom does support it. I think its CM-supported, so every CM-based rom supports it.
There is no need to use apps for it, its in-built.
here is a german screenshot:
you can change color/speed per app.

Awesome, thanks man. I will have to try this. If the 3T ends up being a **** rumor, then this will make the phone so great.

Best app to control LED settings other than LightFlow?
What's wrong with light flow?
i think right now the best light flow
Why is it that so many people on XDA either 1) reply with another question and no answer or 2) with a statement that is not an answer because they didn't really read/understand the OP.
I have not found any other apps, besides light flow, for controlling the led. Some custom ROMs (CM9/10) have built in led control

If you have a question for another question is maybe cause the first question is not just clear.
So, isn't wrong to reply with a question. This could help to get a more detailed context, in wich you can give better answers.

IMO: you should switch to a CM based ROM (or a ROM like e.g. "BAKED Black Bean" from user Travp) which has the CM hack included.
Then you don't have to use a third party app like LightFlow because the CM hack just works

Does CM hack have individual LED color settings for contacts, sms etc... like LightFlow does?
The problem I have with lightflow is that sometimes it "turns off" and I have to re-open it.

It has all the essential setup possibilities in there, yes. LightFlow is more powerful but I think the CM hack offers everything one could ask for. And it works

I couldn't get it to work with apps such as the stock calendar, Words With Friends, or Scamble with Friends though.

lol I don't need it that specific, I mean things like charging, charged, missed call/sms/mms from general people, specific missed call/sms/mms for specific contacts, etc...
It can do all that? If it can I may switch because I am tired of Light Flow randomly not working then having to re-open it (yes accessibility is checked and yes run in foreground is checked)

No charging, charged, specific contacts/mms.
CM's implementation is limited to apps. So you select an app you want a notification for and the color and frequency of the light. That's it.
cm10 does it all.

Not charging/charged lights... Or specific colors for calls/texts/emails from specific people. I could do without the contact specific option, but I love the charging lights. I have the wireless charging mod on my phone so I'm very, um, anal retentive, about making sure my charging setup is in good working order. I like to verify it with the lights. Plus, it's nice to know by a glance when your phone is full and good to go!
I wish I didn't have to use Lightflow, but CM just doesn't have the bells and whistles I prefer on that regard.
Thanks

Thank you for a good answer.... and nothing is wrong with lightflow i just wanted to know if there was anything else... hopefully AOKP will add the LED settings soon
is there anything that lights up the camera flash when the phone rings? this app doesn't work on the nexus
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1556118
The only thing I like light flow more than the aokp/cm10 type controls, is setting a standby light, or a service light that always pulsates even with no notification. Is that a run on sentence?

Same here...uhh I would configure them but it wouldn't do a thing all I get is just a white led whenever I get gmails

[HELP] Looking for alternative to Xposed Module - Custom Slider for Nougat

I've wanted to update to a custom Nougat ROM, but Xposed is holding me back.
So far, my research has yielded good results: alternatives to Callnect, FingerprintEnabler (which is integrated in Nougat I believe), YouTube AdAway, etc. can be installed in Nougat.
Except for Custom Slider. I have Tasker and AutoTools and I can't seem to make it work.
Anyone can help me or point me in the right direction? Thanks

Some roms have it built in by default depending on what you want them to do.

While in MM, I was using the Xposed mod by Weathon which enabled me to control wifi, BT etc with the slider. I think the OP also means this. I don't think any ROM has this functionality built into it.
I am also interested in knowing about an alternative.

Yep, exactly this. I'm looking at Paranoid Android's implementation but I guess that is just for DnD mode.
I'm currently using mine to turn on/off mobile data and to switch to 2g/3g/LTE

Notification LED with screen on?

Is it possible to enable the notification LED to pulse on this device? I know it's possible with Android Nougat because it was working on my OnePlus 2 on RR. Oreo RR has the option on this device but it doesn't work properly, and any solution I've found for customizing the LED doesn't have an option to enable this functionality.

You'll need a 3rd party app like Light Flow or Light Manage from the play store. Personally, I use Light Manager. Works like a charm :good:

Thanks for the tip. I was actually trying to find something that would enable the LED to be turned on while the screen is on, but it looks like Light Manager confirmed my suspicion. It looks like either Oreo disabled this, or Pixel's LED just doesn't work this way.
Am using the DU ROM, and it has the option of LED in screen on / DND and it all works for me. I use this as my daily driver as am content with the insane amount of LED customization I get.

Ohh, excellent! How's battery life, the camera (I'm sure it's same as stock with Google camera right?) customization, stability? I'm perfectly happy on stock besides the LED, so I'm trying to figure out if it's worth going through the hassle of flashing another ROM. Thanks

Battery life is definitely better than stock, comparable to Nitrogen. My stock was giving slight less screen-on time and much less idle time. Not giving you any numbers as usages vary person to person.
Stability is good too.
Camera is all stock as usual.
There are a lot of DU tweaks, same as aquarios and other other ROMs. Maybe lil more or less, but am not that much into it. You can check out more in their website or the unofficial thread here in XDA.

Battery life being better than stock really surprises me, considering I regularly get 6-8 SOT with excellent standby.
Sounds pretty good, I'll definitely check it out. Thanks!

Just outa curiosity, why do you need the led light on while the phone is on if you already know you've got a message or whatever? ?

It's not necessarily something I absolutely need, I'd just like to have it back. I got used to having it on my OnePlus 2, and it was useful to be able to tell that I had a pending notification, like a message or a missed call during media consumption like Netflix or YouTube. It also allowed me to get rid of Heads Up notifications and disable vibrations.

Question Horizon Light

Hello,
would you please tell me if there's any app that can edit the horizon light animation and/or add a loop, so the animation continues till the notification has been read or cleared?
Thanks in advance
Would be a nice feature to have since the notification LED is gone
On Color OS 12 Stable works fine & is awesome.
I really wish we had Renovate ICE for OP9P. I used that to customize the horizon light on my previous phone.

I 1000% feel the same way. I find myself wanting to go back to my 7pro just to have RICE again. It was so easy to install/use and had every customization option I wanted. I just got my 9pro within the past month and at least once a day I debate returning it and using my 7Pro still just for Renovate.
:I can't decide if I should try a custom ROM like evolution or try to hold out for a rom to flash in Magisk similar to how RICE was. Not sure how many of those will exist anymore considering Magisk is slowly going away

If mwilky and the rest of the Dev team managed to get a OP10, would you upgrade to the 10?

If the hardware turns out to be a better upgrade than the 9 series was and it receives a generally positive response from the dev community, I'll probably upgrade. RICE would definitely be a bonus, but overall this phone just hasn't lived up to my expectations.

I didn't realize how much I depended on notification light until it was gone. The ambient display serves my needs as a replacement.

Yeah, it's natively available in Oxygen OS. See Settings > Display > Ambient Display. I set it to show during my daily active hours.
Other places that affect this include:
notification detail settings and customization (to change the clock style & other visual elements).
Enjoy!

Im not entirely sure how well this works, but I have messed around with this app previous. I used an app on the playstore called AOA by newGen Mobile, its not quite an ambient display but it is an Always on Display app that enables you to customize your horizon lights as you see fit(color, duration, pattern and such). There is a free version of it if you want to at least try it out.

Question Can you guys help me pick a stock android 12 rom to flash?

My Poco f3 is my daily driver and I can't test lots of rooms rn and I was wondering if you guys tested different roms and would be so kind as to recommend a rom. My most important feature is to be able to unlock just by fingerprint touch or press (as in without the need to double tap/wake up the screen first). Also a totally black (not gray) dark mode is important
Thank you in advance

Yeah features and customization without diminishing stability or battery life
I use Evolution X but it's Android 13.
It has a Black Mode and lots of customization. It's a Pixel ROM so it also has Pixel-exclusive system apps and features. I can recommend it It also receives frequent updates and has a big community on Telegram.
The question is, do you want a simple AOSP ROM or a Pixel ROM with more features and customization.

Yeah more features and customization as long as its stable and has a good battery life. I kind of disregarded A13 bc I assumed it won't be perfected yet but I'll check it out now. Can you unlock from a black screen just by taping the fingerprint scanner?

Yes, this is the default behaviour when having set-up a Fingerprint.
Doesn't every ROM do this by default? I think even MIUI. You can also configure to only scan for Fingerprint when Screen on, on Evolution-X too.
