Trick hulu?

I was wondering if there was a way to trick hulu into letting you play videos on android..

I don't think netflix is going to work since it uses Silverlight to stream on a pc...
maybe if we could figure out how the wii does it or something.....

Last I checked the user agent trick doesn't work, it still says we don't support it.

Easy trick is look at your address on the cpu and type Hulu.com and BAM theres Hulu

I have a bug to report, I can see my computer with my binoculars, but I still can't reach it, FIX IT OR I'M TRADING IN

The user-agent method for Froyo has been fixed. I am unaware of any other way to access Hulu on our phones. I did sign up for the beta Hulu program, and they asked for what type of mobile operating system that I used. Checked Android, hopefully they are deving an app, as they are doing for iPad/iPhone.

Swype?

I can't find a working copy of Swype for the GS3. I'm running CM9 nightlies because I can't find a 100% working Rom.
Does anyone have an apk that is fully working?
I've included a screenshot of what happens when I use swype = tiny.

Go to the Swype home page and you can enroll in beta testing which allows you the full up to date program for 6 months or so, and when your license runs out all you have to do is wipe data and you're good for another 6 months

Just outta curiosity, why is it still in beta?

I've never stopped to ask myself that honestly..I would assume that they are not fully pleased with the current standings enough to call it a full release..

it's a program to test out beta versions of swype that aren't being publicly released yet.

There will never be a stable version in the traditional sense. They consider the version OEMs pay for "stable" and the beta is a way people who buy a phone without OEM-preloaded Swype to still experience that and in return it sends Nuance usage statistics anonymous about how it's used, crash logs, etc. Swype will probably never have a standalone Play Store version if they keep on the way they have been going. However, with Nuance's recent acquisition of Swype and how they've added in all of FlexT9's features I could see it happening eventually since Samsung and HTC seem to have pulled out of preloading Swype and have copied its functionality into their own keyboards and no longer pay Swype royalties to licence it.

I'm running the latest Swype Beta on 081412 nightly. Works flawlessly. I recommend signing up with Swype over installing a .apk because the Swype Beta Installer will let you know about new updates versus waiting for someone to post up an updated .apk.

What about your browser? Is it set to memory card for downloads? See... Usually I get weird errors like that when mine is set but mine is reversed because of the swap init.d script. Maybe the download was incomplete. I'm really puzzled cause we have the same ROM...

Of course! Generally the only time you have to worry about cross carrier compatibility is when using modems (aka radio). Most. Roms are cross compatible and will strickly say so. Apps don't matter 99% of the time. Enjoy!

Oh ok. I asked because I did a crazy thing. I downloaded the GMAIL 4.6 from here for the Nexus (without looking @ the phone it was uploaded for) and installed it on my Note 2, and it caused my Note to go into an endless reboot sequence. The only resolution I had was to Factory restore my Note2 and all the apps and data. So, I'd like to avoid that again. I'll wait for the official release...lol

I'm pretty sure they started splitting some Google apps up by os versions. I've been able to run most. Maybe the one you grabbed was for 4.3... Did you end up pushing the file to the system instead of just installing it? That might have cause a boot loop but it is still weird. I'd don't blame you for waiting lol! Next time keep a nandroid backup handy for all accidents

Facebook app on my nexus open links on its own Facebook browser.

How do I stop that? I want it opening on Chrome not on its own browser.
On my cellphone Facebook apps still open links on Chrome.

Why don't you just uninstall the Facebook app? You can still use Facebook in the Chrome browser. Additionally, more battery juice can be saved by not having the app installed. Maybe go into the app manager of your device and look for Facebook. Then tap on it and reset the app as default for opening links. If this does not work, see my first suggestion.

I had an iPad a few weeks and the one thing I liked on FB app was that links were opening in FB browser, so for me it's very useful thing but I don't have that on my FB app yet. Are you participating in their alpha/beta testing program?

No, but I notice it's version 15.0.0.9.16 released August 4. My nexus 7 has version 4.4.4.
My note2 has same facebook version but with firmware 4.1.2.

So you're using the beta app. Weird, because I got the beta version too and don't have this thing

I have alpha version 16.0.0.0.8 and links are always opened in Chrome, I never see "Facebook browser".
Can you share screenshot of FB browser?

Mine does it too. Its annoying to always click "open link in browser" If someone finds a way to bypass this new "feature" let me know. :good:

I've never seen anything like this (on my device).
If I click on link in Facebook, it asked me which app I want to use...
I did not find anything in app settings, so I think this can be changed (maybe) only with Xposed module.
You can ask HERE if someone can make module for this...

In the settings menu inside the app there is a check box for this very question.

Solution:
Go to Galaxy Store and type just "Browser" and select it. It'll show the compatible Samsung internet browser.

Even the stable version(March 5 build) hasn't made it to the playstore yet, hence was that reply.

I have the regular version installed but the beta version is not showing up anymore.
