Just download the odin tar file firmware for Android 4.1.2 off of the Samsung site for your phone, flash it, then root using king root or frama root.

Personally, I would flash the LK3 stock firmware from sammobile.com and root using cfautoroot via Odin or flash supersu via TWRP.

[Q] P605 not able to upgrade by OTA to 4.4.2 because of root

Hi all,
I tried to uprgrade my P605 by OTA to 4.4.2 from 4.3 MJ4 with wanam exposed but it didn't... downloading is ok but after a reboot it appear "unable to upgrade".
How I can do that ? And if I can't, where I can't find the ROM prerooted ?
If there is no prerooted ROM, what is the step by step method to unroot my tab, upgrade it and re-root it ?
Thanks a lot for all your responses
regards
Or perhaps a ROM I can use with mobil ODIN ? (is every ROM can be use with mobile odin ?)

Hi,
I think that the best thing would be to download the stock ROM you want to install from SamMobile or Samsung Updates, flash it with Odin and the using the method given HERE root it with TowelRoot.
So far there is not any stock pre-rooted ROM available for the P605

Well I don't know but AFAIK Mobile Odin doesn't support the Note 10.1 version 2014 !!
It's not a big deal to root it after flashing the stock ROM !!
Thanks,
Finally I flashed my tab with the stock rom from sammobile with ODIN and yhen I rooted it with cf-autoroot from chainfire and everything is perfect !!!

So do you have the P605v (Verizon LTE) version? Then you flashed the stock ROM (4.3) from SamMobile via ODIN and re-rooted, correct? I just want to make sure that I am doing this "apples-to-apples" as I don't want to lose root on my P605v.
No I have p605, not verizon version.

Galaxy S3 4.3 T999UVUEOH1- Root Method?

Confused about rooting with T999UVUEOH1
ok
If the phone is running a stock 4.3 Samsung ROM, the phone will have knox. Best thing to do would be to run OTA updates until the phone is running the latest ROM. This will ensure that the phone has the most recent bootloader and modem.
Once updated, you can easily root the phone by flash TWRP for the d2tmo via Odin. After installing TWRP, you can flash supersu 2.45 or 2.46 via TWRP and have root access.
Note that flashing TWRP will trip the knox counter.
Ok
The method I recommended should not cause any loss of data. To be safe, always backup before flashing anything.
Is there any warranty left on the phone? If not, tripping knox isn't going to matter.
Any attempts to downgrade the bootloader may result in a bricked phone.
Looks like the root66 method involves flashing a prerooted stock ROM. If you want to try the root66 method, just make sure the root66 ROM's bootloader and modem are the same or newer than the phone's version. If the phone has oh1, I would not use the root66 method.
Ok
Flashing TWRP and supersu from TWRP is the easiest in my opinion.
Just make sure to get the tar version of TWRP to flash in Odin.

Nahh!! The easiest way is use TowelRoot
Only need to press a button! I'm using that firmware so I CONFIRM that it's working
I guess it depends on the rom. It wouldn't work on stock 4.4.2 for me.
The kernel was patched against Towelroot in 4.4.2. We were never updated past 4.3 so it should work fine.

Baseband M919UVUFOK3 Root

Greetings,
I have researched rooting this baseband version. I am new to this and wondering if I can use Odin to just root my phone. Tmobile just put this update on the phone and I am confused as what to do. Do I use CF auto root? Or is there no root process for the new update yet?
Thank you in advance
Jeff

Warranty (Knox) now void if you do this. You could flash twrp with Odin, then SuperSU 2.52 beta through TWRP. Next time post in Q&A section.

Thank you.
I have Odin 3.10 with CF auto root tar file. I am uncertain if that includes twrp and the supersu beta 2.52. I apologize of my ignorance. I have in the past just used odin to root my tmobile s4 and never had any issues. I am not concerned about voiding the warranty if there is an easier way to do this.
Thank you again

Assuming you understand how to use odin.
Odin CF autoroot to get root. That will still leave you still with stock recovery.
If to want twrp, get latest release
2.8.7 in .tar format. use odin to install. That simple.
Be certain to get the proper packages for your device.

^^ @jwent333 odin 3.04 and 3.07 seem to work better so if you have any issues switch to one of those and make sure your using the usb cord that came with the phone, if you can.
Thank you, everything worked perfectly.
CF auto root worked on my phone with this baseband
I am having troubble finding the correct CF Autoroot file for m919uvufok3
Any pointers would be appreciated - I checked chainfire's site already and here.
Or can I use CF-Auto-Root-jfltetmo-jfltetmo-sghm919 (even if it looks like it's for M919UVUFNH7)
Thanks in advance.
Another easy way to root would be to flash TWRP with Odin and then flash supersu from TWRP.

Flashing Stock ROM Question?

Hi guys.
I'm wondering, if I flash stock ROM to my note via Odin, do I need to re-root ?
And only recovery is back to stock one right?
Thanks!
Yes you will need to re-root. But it's really very easy. Just flash TWRP after stock ROM and then install SuperSU.zip.
Depending on the phone model and stock ROM version, you may be able to root by using cfautoroot and Odin.

there is another Solution to flash stock firmware ,and without PC !!
you can use FlashFire .apk
you can keep root access & inject SuperSu while flashing & manage recovery... and,.....
and the most important thing it is chainfire made
Can the stock rom be flashed with the TWRP, like an AOSP rom (img file) ?

No. But you can use eclipse (flash via TWRP) if you want the feeling of stock ROM.
Sorry guys guys for late reply.
I was using Kingroot before but I cant run flux or cf lumen using with its root access.
I tried using the CF autoroot, flash using odin, its all good no error and "Passed".
After rebooted, I try to run the SU and get this error:
"there is no su binary installed and supersu cannot install it. this is a problem"
I then installed latest TWRP using odin and installed latest SU using recovery but the error still persist.
What should I do? Thanks!

Its n7100 with 4.4.2
N7100XXUFNI4 - October 2014
I have always had success with cfautoroot.
Just double-check to make sure you used the correct version of cfautoroot, Odin 3.07, and the original Samsung USB cable.
Did you flash a stock ROM after kingroot failed? If not, this may be why cfautoroot didn't work.

Nope. I flash stock ROM and trying to find easy way to root. I tried Kingroot.
Now, I uninstall Kingroot and try to root like good ol day. but it didnt work.. :crying:
You don't have to just Odin 3.07 but that's what I always use.
Flash back to stock, then use cfautoroot.

Tried with 3.07. Same issues.
Em, I will stick with Kingroot if I need to flash back I guess.
Is there any other way?
I'm using this one tho:
CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.tar.md5
You tried 3.07 to flash stock or cfautoroot? I meant use 3.07 to flash stock, then use 3.07 to flash cfautoroot.

I reflash my note to stock and flash cfautoroot after. It worked perfectly fine now.
Kingroot was the real culprit.
Thanks!
That's great:good:
