Ever since I purchased the OP3 I have been plagued by constant UI stuttering a lag in the system apps and elsewhere within Oxygen OS, but just recently I came across a strange correlation. This stuttering and lag would virtually disappear during the duration apps install/update through the Google Play Store. Yeah. I have no clue as to why, and I have tried clearing the Google Play services data PLENTLY of times, so don't tell me to do that. I can deduce that the issue does likely revolve around the Play Store though. If any of you have had this problem, share your findings here!

Hi all,
I've had my Bell G3 for a few days now, and I've run into a weird issue. I don't play many games on my device, but the two I do enjoy are crashing on launch.
Up first is Timberman. This one has never worked. I start it up, get to the very first company screen, and the app crashes, asking me to send in a report.
Up next is Clash of Clans. The weird part here is that it was working fine. Then suddenly I go to start it up, and nothing. I just get a black screen. IT doesn't seem to have been updated, and I haven't done anything recent that I can think of that would cause this.
I've tried restarting the device. Deleting data. Uninstalling and re-installing the apps.
I switched from Dalvik to ART as soon as I unboxed the device, so that may be a factor, but I was running Clash of Clans perfectly for a few days before the trouble started.
I've run out of ideas and was wondering if anyone else has experienced similar problems?
Thanks!
ART causes this kind of thing with a lot of apps. Try it in Dalvik. I'd be surprised if there were a compatability issue with our phones with Clash of Clans because it came preinstalled on my Verizon version.
The one I've experienced this with is SMASH HIT. I noticed it only happens when there's a poor or nonexistent signal/data connection for the cell network. It may be just a bug in the specific app which calls out for data when it starts, I emailed the publisher.
ETA: I do not have ART enabled.

I'm guessing that it is indeed ART being a bad boy. Essentially I had to switch back to Dalvik, delete data, uninstall and re-install. Both Clash of Clans and Timberman are working now.
Thanks for the advice. I was kind of afraid that it would be the case. I guess ART just isn't ready for prime time as of yet.
So it's been 3 months since I bought this LG G3 D856. After a week of use, google play store and other apps (mostly associated with Google) werent giving notifications and werent loading. So I saw that if I factory reset my phone, it would be fixed. So i did it, and it did get fixed. But it didnt take long until it all started again. But i was living up to it. I thought LG might roll out the Android M update which would fix it all. But after seeing the news about it being delayed, im kinda pissed off. Now my games apps wont even load. They show the error of stopped working. So if anyone could help me out, it would be a hugeeee support. :/
Try to find an updated Google play services. Also you can hold the Power+Volume down rocker to get to your stock recovery and while your cache and dalvik.
I already got the latest play service. And the games app not responding issue, it got fixed after a restart. But the google play store thing is really bugging me. :/

It could be very well bug in Google Play Services, since it silently updates itself in background, so lot of time they suddenly start misbehaving eating up lot of battery and crashing here & there. Cross check your version with apkmirror

Already did. Got the correct version. Still no fix. :/
Actually, this is the text from XDA forum and I have exactly the same problem ..
Anybody has any idea?
This drives me crazy.
I've tried everything ,from reset , to factory reset, safe mode..etc.
It's not apps related because I have only few regular apps on my phone.
Any help will be very welcome...
Tnx

So I've had this issue with both my S7 and S8 where whenever I click to open certain apps from my home screen, there's a noticeable delay between when I touch the icon to when the app actually opens.
This most notably happens on the Facebook, any and all internet browsers, the Play Store, and the Google app.
The thing that confuses me is that no one else seems to report this issue, nor have I experienced it on other brand phones.
Has any one else experienced this or have any ideas for a solution
Certain overly bloated software (like fakebook and web browsers) will take time to LOAD. This is not an "issue". Behaving normal as expected.
Of course it is... Google apps are not third party apps...
While watching Netflix, sometimes the video will freeze but audio continues. However, once I tilt or move the phone it will begin playing again. If I leave it still the video will not resume on it's own. I did not know how to begin to search for a similar problem to this without looking through every "Netflix freezing" post. Anyone else with something similar and a possible fix?
Happens to me... I think it's a Netflix issue for sure. I've been noticing this odd freezing across many devices lately...
Yeah like the previous poster stated there have been issues with Netflix on many devices. My fiance's note 8 has random freezes of video, my Pixel 2 XL, and Shield all have it too. It's not the phone, just a buggy Netflix app.

I had something that sounds like this only yesterday.
Mxplayer and my keyboard app would open and then close within a second. The whole UI had a periodic flicker to it as well. I checked running services and then battery management. Both apps mentioned had high power consumption so l put them to sleep and the UI was better for 1 minute.
For the first time in years I've switched from 2 of my favourite apps and the problem is gone. I'm not happy that I've had to do this on a new phone on official software.
This was out of the blue, the only thing I can think of is a Google services update screwed something up. Nothing else on the phone changed but for a services or play store update.
EDIT: following @toothfairy's link I updated system webview and tried a newer version of touchpal (I know, banned from play store. firewall will eventually cut them off) and all seems good there again.
I'm actually liking VLC for the moment so mxplayer can wait for another test.
