GPS running fine. Without any force close, smooth and stable. It's getting a bit hotter, so I'm going to try changing the kernel. One of the best ROMs I have ever experienced.

I have been running build 0.26 for 3 days now as my daily driver. This rom is very stable. I am very happy that everything on this rom that I use on a regular basis works very well. The utouch button works flawlessly for me, even with the navigation bar enabled. The configuration is perfect to my preference - tap (back), press (home), swipe left (recents), swipe right (menu). The finger print scanner works perfectly. I have not had any issues. I was surprised when I first flashed the rom that there was not a messaging app or brower installed, but I guess that is part of the Slim concept. I was able to install messages and google chrome from the play story and they are working great. The battery life is comparable to Lineage OS and Mokee rom on my phone with my configuration. I will say with the other roms I was running Greenify as well, but with Slim7 I decided to try the rom without Greenify, and I am getting about the same battery life. SOT for me is a little over 4.5 hours. Performance is pretty good with an antutu score of 140662. I also rooted the rom with Magisk v12 and I have no issues with root. This rom is very smooth and works great. There are not a lot of configuration options with this rom, but what is available works very well. If you are looking for a stable rom, that works very well without a lot of extra "fluff", then I highly recommend this rom for you to try. Kudos to the development team on this rom. Thank you for the great work!!

The rom is simply perfect, no bugs and stable for daily use... But the v0.26 is much better on battery than v0.27 (1.30/2h more on the same usage) and slightly higher performance (always at 0.26)

Not sure when you installed v0.27, but I noticed the same thing on day 1. On day 2 it seems to be better for me, much like v0.26 was. I have no complaints today with the battery life, but that is just me with my setup. Your mileage could definitely be different.

I'm actually working on something...
AOSP source used, needs a little tweaking, but maybe I'll have it ready next week sometime
Woooohoooo! I'm not really a fan of LoS as the camera and battery life always seems to be best on a stock based rom.

Currently, it's straight up AOSP, no mods yet, just a build. Seems to be pretty "snappy" though :good:
I'll be sending out some invites for beta testing over the next few days, those invited will need the Telegram app, as that's where discussions will happen.
Also, "full confidence in your ability" will be required. I've semi-bricked my Marlin several times trying out the builds I've made, IF you can't recover your device, maybe you shouldn't join my beta
Regards,
Nepo
I've rooted every Android device I've had where it was possible, but I'm no expert. I just bought the pixel xl today and should have it next week. It will be my daily driver, so I'm not sure I'm the best candidate for beta.
Very excited to test out the first release though.

Joined the chat, but don't have the ability to talk. Is it an actual chat, or just something for us to check? I'm fine with fastboot, though Marlin is a weird device lol. Very conferrable with manually flashing

I have tried Pie roms but they are not as stable as Oreo. Especially in games like PUBG where there are glitches.
Anyone else on a stable Oreo rom? Which rom and why? (Do mention Android version to avoid confusion.)

I'm on bootleggers 3.0 last oreo build with derp 2.8 Kernel i tried almost all ths oreo ROMs and this one is my favorite , you should try it once :good:
yes,
I am using Cardinal AOSP and pretty much happy with this ROM ! :fingers-crossed:
you can try it
Yaps i still on orea , i have tried most of pie rom available for our device but all of them has some kind of glitches and not enough customization as in oreo ,so i will stay in oreo untill pie rom as stable as oreo and has enough customization.
yep, still using aosip oreo rom, it's the first rom i flash after unlocking bootloader, pretty much stable for my daily use
I'm still on AOSiP Oreo, pretty much since I've bought the phone back in June (used RR for some 10 days maybe), and have briefly tried Pixel Experience, but back when it just came out.
Oreo roms are still more stable than Pie, although for my kind of usage I could even go for Pie, but I don't want to give up Xposed just yet.
It would be nice to have another update for Oreo roms with updated blobs, but I guess exactly 0 devs share this opinion so there's that.
@Cirra92
What"s wrong with AOSP PIE roms ? I"m using PE right now. Apart from "not perfect" standby battery drain, broken manual network selection, broken 5GHz hotspot and that time when MIUI camera refused to record a video (fixed it by rebooting the phone) there isn"t much to complain about. PIE roms seems stable to me

Well I didn't state anywhere that they are unstable, I have just said that Oreo roms are still more stable which means more refined and bugs (mostly, or at least the major noticeable ones) ironed out. You have named couple of bugs already, there are also couple of bigger ones, not supported SD card formats, unstable network handoffs (4G->3G->2G), some roms have WiFi bugs. And that's normal, count in the time put in Oreo roms, and on the other hand Pie roms, as with each major Android release, new bugs arrive, some harder to fix, some easier.
And another note I want to make (mentioned in previous post) that for my particular usage, Pie roms are probably suitable enough, though it depends when will I decide to switch and give up on GravityBox and XInsta (mainly the latter).
Pie roms are certainly getting polished, and are already daily driver material for most people, but still, not everyone.
Revolution OS in combination with latest Deep Kernel.
Perfect for me. Smooth, no lags, fast and awesome battery life
After bricking and paying a service to fix it, I finally rooted and installed TWRP on my phone. Any stable ROMs for this thing? I have seen a couple, but it's pretty unknown whether it's stable enough for a daily driver.

For mi the most stable one is the Evolution X Rom, now Linage OS works quite well too but evo does have more settings and mostly no noticeable issues for me. Plus a custom kernel tweaked for performance and a few things more.
It's not like you are going to get rid of VoLTE issue or fingerprint or flickering issues with night mode filter or video playback in any of the current roms available since all of them are based on the linage os one huh, but imo, evolution X recommended as daily driver all the way.
Are you sure its for the Note 8 pro? I googled it and it seems to be

Hey,
I have a Poco F3, I unlocked the bootloader recently, and I want to know which ROM should I get or is the best for you. I tried xiaomi.eu, but I prefer AOSP/pixel (I tried some, but I can't make a choice). What is the best, I know for now there is crDroid, Pixel Experience Plus but unofficial, Pixel Extended, etc Should I wait for more stable, official or new custom ROMS ?
What are the pro/cons or features of each ?

|
Edit : anyone can share his opinion here and/or ask on this thread

Thanks in advance !
In terms of features you can't get more feature rich then crdroid. Most ROMs are rock stable and the one main missing feature dt2w is going to be coming in the next week or so. I'm currently using pixel extended and I've had no problem and am thoroughly enjoying it

Thank you, I'm currently using crDroid but the lack of Google Apps bothers me. I was using pixel extended but I had some bugs. I might retry, I'm hesitant for now with pixel experience plus too.

How can a rom lack Google Apps as you can install them through the playstore ?
ps : it nice not to rely to much on Google btw
Thanks for all the response, I am waiting for more stable releases, but for now I'm with pixel extended still with some bugs, but the best that I've tested so far.

Running Lineage on mine, with Quantic kernel, Micro-g, I am getting insane battery life, This phone has been an amazing upgrade for me after being on Mi6 for over 3 years.
for a beta Build, I have yet to run into a single issue, everything is running smoothly.
I have the feeling this phone will receive lots of love from developers and will have custom roms for years to come.
Edit: on my build I have finally fixed battery drain when, double tap, ambient pick-up, or AOD is enabled, it makes no difference, my phone dozes beautifully at night. How is it with other ROMs?
The key for me and everyone i think is the kernel, no matter what I changed with the original kernel that comes with lineage the phone gets no doze, only when I use Quantic + Lineage everything is 100%.

Did you flash the kernel only via TWRP or is it TWRP and fastboot dtbo?
Also, have you had issues surrounding running apps like Google Maps or Kodi? They install and boot up but crash seconds later.
best currently MIUI BASED rom? ive tried miui.eu but ive found some bugs.

I believe there is a telegram group, I don't have telegram or any other chat app so I rely on XDA. I am using my own Frankenstein build though, where I borrowed features from all roms but I use lineage as base.
