I dropped my phone 2 days ago and it landed on bottom left corner. Since then the bottom speaker is giving totally distorted sound.
Anyone heard about this? Anyways to fix this?

The speaker will be goosed. You'll need a new one and a repair shop who'll do it.

Hi,
I've seen a Desire for sale that is stuck in Headphone mode even though there are no headphones in it. Apparently the speaker still rings,. Also the back button has stopped working.
Headphones could be software.. i had this on an on WM HTC phone. What about back button. Would you say these are easy to fix?
Thanks
Mark
Probably been dropped in a liquid from the sounds of it.

You're correct. I've just found out it is water damaged. Is it worth buying and fixing? The guy wants £220 for it.
Anyone with experiance or knowledge about water damage?
Thanks
Mark
I wouldn't want to take the risk.. 220 quid is a lot of money for a device that can cut out on you any minute because of corrosion or short circuit.
I had exactly the same problem (although to my knowledge it did not have any waterdamage) I sent it to HTC, but they apparently found that it was waterdamaged (don't know why, the two water indicators I can see are still white)) they said they sent it back unrepaired, but when i got it back the sound was working on it again and i didn't have to pay them anything.
(i would say don't buy it for me only the headphone problem existed together with a notification led that is continously on. And since the headphone is continously on it will not use your speaker or mic when on a call, so you won't be able to use your phone as a phone)
Hi,
has anybody else this problem: When i squeeze my HTC ONE X on the left side, it creaks. Is this a problem with a glue or so, which isn't fully hardened?
I contacted HTC and am waiting for their answer.
The problem is that i switched from SIM to Micro SIM for this phone and if it has to go on repair for a few days or weeks that would be not good.
Don't have that problem at all
No creaking or rattling sound.
You're not the only one with creaks, already being discussed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583693
thank you all for your replies
I got my phone the other week and after 2 hours of using it I noticed a strange behaviour.... I had a horizontal band in the middle of the screen that would not response to touch.
Since then I contacted my carrier to send me a new one, and of course they delay me with all the madness of black friday and "Orange black week" but I should get a new phone sometimes next week.
In the meantime I noticed something, at some point the touchscreen woked, I started to question myself why does this happen? I read a few posts on the internet about this and tested some things for myself and I got the point where if I rub the phone against my wool coat the touchscreen would start working, although when it works it somehow overloads and no touch input is registered until I turn off and on the screen. Obviously when I rub it on my coat the touchscreen get electrostatically charged which somehow makes it's "wheels" turn.
This happens everytime I restart the phone and after some time of sitting idle.
This is really weird behaviour, I'm certain it's a hardware fault, can something be done, a final solution? Rather than constantly rubbing my phone on my coat? (it looks weird ).
Try recalibrate, in keyboard settings - advance or choose reset calibration.
I have dead spots at the sides, if I use a drawing app and try to draw a line from left to right of the screen, it don't actually go to the edges.
I'm kinda hoping its just a calibration problem that'll go away in a future update, if not I'll send it in.
It's kinda annoying not being able to skip flash video using the bottom slider/progress bar, first halve works, but then gets more difficult further than halfway.

My dead spot looks like this. It s about 20% of screen setate.

Did you try the calibrate option?
If it don't help then I guess its hardware and time for warranty maybe.
It helped me a little, but I still got small area's, smaller than before.

Common hardware fault, there are many threads about it if you search

I got the exact same problem with an idevice earlier this year. Hardware fault nothing to do with calibration or software. Better send in for repair ASAP.

Yes, Wednesday I made a request for a new unit, should be here on Monday Tuesday, hopefully
This was mine after changing display. So I changed the display with another one, and now there are no problems. Got a refund for the defective one. The dead spot only occured 1 or 2 times in the week I had the faulty display.

What should be the cost
Hi,
I have the same problem, is it worthwhile to send for repair, or I may buy a new one?
One is the expected cost of the repair of replacing the defected hardware?
here is my solution

Hey guys I've been having this issue where my screenn will then off then it won't start working for 5min. I can feel the vibrations and get calls. If I squeeze the front and back of the phone the screen sometimes comes back on. I think it's just a loose internsl connector. Anyone know how to fix this?
YouTube man...But I've heard that working on your own HTC device is nearly impossible, so its best to send for warranty

hey mate, where did you find the replacement? same here, crackling and annoying buzzes from the speaker. poor quality overall, even when it was fine.
I purchased it from ebay, takes about 10 minutes to replace, it very easy to do http://m.ebay.com/itm/buzzer-loud-S...e2-repair-replacment-/281792338212?nav=SEARCH
I went to the service center here they said that they don't have the speaker yet so they registered my complaint and told me that when they will receive the speaker they will call me and get it replaced, now just waiting for their call

You can buy a new one on ebay for $6 shipped, I ordered 4 if them, so now I have enough speakers to last me a year.
Have the same problem .
Did you find any way to fix it ?

any advice would be appreciated
ur speker is not working? or what happened exactly? did u use viper4android?
ZenFone 2 rear speaker sucks
Fitted 3 speakers in 3 weeks they only last a week .us this a fault with the ZenFone 2 speaker??
Old thread but check your speaker for black powder on the outer edges. Its dust thats magnetic/ferrous. Clean it off and you could be good to go.
