As the title states.
I have pink tint on the left hand side of the screen, vertically down.
I tried a bit of UV light blast and keeping the screen at full brightness - but not sure if it improves or not.
It is a TIANMA panel. Anyone else had a partial pink tint on screen, and did it go away with time?
Thanks guys

Sorry to hear of this problem.
Perhaps you find better results in this thread:

Kernel devs added in KCAL Color Control so that would help if you are rooted, you will read about it in the above thread.
Thanks
I know of the above thread. I am just curious to hear about this from other tianma owners.
If there are any out there who only had pink tint on part of the screen did it go away?

I have pink when viewed from angles. Hoping it improves
Mine is pink on an angle, seems it's normal. The bottom part of my screen in pinker than the top and it hasn't gone away.

Just got my VZW galaxy nexus, and im loving it so far, but have noticed something odd: toward the top of the screen (about 1/4 of the way down from the top) there seems to be a very slight green tint, noticeable only when looking at a dark background (like the settings menu).
It's kind of hard to explain, does anyone else have something similar on their phones? Is this normal for amoled screens or should I ask for a replacement phone?
i believe it has to do with it being a pentile screen... well, 'HD' pentile, but still..
i'd say if you try an exchange, make sure you the test the other in store first.
can anyone with a galaxy nexus please post a photo of their phone on the settings menu? (scroll all the way down)

Pretty sure the setting menu is a background gradient with an intended color shift.
But yeah, mine has a blueish/greenish hue if I tilt the phone away or towards me in portrait mode. Straight-on, I don't notice anything.
yeah i am talking about viewing straight on
mine has this greenish tint slightly at the top right screen...
that settings menu then scroll all the way down is normal.. the color is not as dark as the top. I'm seeing greenish tint when on white background
I have a very light greenish tint on the right side of the phone on white backgrounds with text when at low/automatic brightness. The green goes away when I bump brightness to 40%+.
Did you try that?
Oddly, when I ran pixel checker, the pure white background has no green tint to it at all.
Yeah, at low brightness I see a tint/haze but at full brightness, everything looks beautiful.
Welcome to the world of pentile.
I see the same green tint on my screen. I thought it was normal, but I compared it to another unit today and saw that my display was both dimmer at the same brightness level and had a greenish cast and different color temperature than the unit I was comparing it to. I'm not sure if this is within the normal variance for these displays, but my phone certainly looks worse to me than the one I compared it to.
Both units also showed a green/blue tint when viewed off axis but with greater discoloration on mine. The second unit showed almost no discernible tint when viewing a white screen straight on unlike mine.

i have the same problem. Sometimes (usually after a power down and restart) my entire screen is very dark and has a, very obvious, green tint to it. I compared my phone to my girlfriends at the same display setting and the tint is very obvious (especially when i'm viewing menu, text messages, browser). When i adjust the brightness it seems to make it less obvious, but still there. However after certain power down and restart this "green tint" seems to 'go away' only to either gradually re-appear or just happen when my phone self adjusts to "automatic brightness" setting.
p.s. my phone also, had another minor issue of random re-start when listening to music (via google music) and adjusting the sound effects option. After that restart my phones display was significantly tinted and dark. Weird, Either way getting a replacement unit tomorrow.
Mine has a very slight green tint on the left hand side of the screen when at the lowest brightness and viewing a white background.
I normally have the brightness bumped up a bit, but it still bugs me when I have it low
EDIT: Checked pixel checker, has the green tint. I can definitely see it on the keyboard as I'm typing this though
I took my unit in to Verizon today for an exchange. New one doesn't have as significant of color shifting or banding issues.

yeah i got mine replaced the next day, all good now. No green tint, reduced banding, and much better viewing angles (the first one heavily tinted green or pink colors when viewing it from the right or left side, respectively)
Alright, got a replacement today.
No green tint that I can see, almost no banding and the colors don't change like, at all when I tilt the phone.
Now my nexus truly is perfect

Sorry, I find this very hard to believe. *ALL* pentile AMOLEDs change colours like crazy when you look at them at a sharp angle. It's a characteristic trait of this kind of display.
Pics from various angles or it didn't happen. ;-)

Yeah, I was exaggerating, but compared to how bad it was with the other one its crazy. Very less noticeable than my first one

I have noticed some slight flaws with my HTC One X
Firstly, when the backlight is on maximum (which happens when you first boot-up the phone) and shows a black screen, I can see some backlight bleeding at the bottom. It looks a bit greenish in one corner and also a bit further along the bottom.
Also, on a full white screen, the bottom is a bit more yellow than the rest of the image. This can be seen on the mail application (or gmail) for example.
I noticed that my applying slight pressure to the casing, that I can reduce the backlight bleed a bit. It also seems to reducing after a few heat-up / cool-down cycles. However the slight uniformity issue from top to bottom doesn't seem to be changing.
Has anyone else noticed this? I must emphasise it is slight, and that the backlight bleed is near invisible if the display is on auto-brightness and you are in a normally lit room.

Dude the below backlight bleeding is from the LEDs of the buttons
Same thing with DHD and O2X...

Yeah I have seen what you mean in previous handsets. But in this case it really is the screen. When you boot the phone up, it goes black on full brightness for a few seconds without the LEDs for the buttons

I checked it with a pure black background, same I used for my Galaxy S2.
I had 3 spots below, and when the leds went out I had no spots at all.
I have now checked 3 other HTC One X handsets, and they are all practically identical in terms of uniformity on an all white screen. They are all more yellow towards the bottom of the screen. That doesn't mean every One X handset is like that, but clearly there isn't much point in me swapping it out.
Funnily enough I also had that with the Evo 3D handset as well although it was even more obvious on that one.
These kinds of imperfections seems a price of having a laminated screen ie: glue, iPhone4/4s and iPad3 have similar habbits
Mine has about 6 tiny little lights on the bottom of the display...this is not normal. At least I hope not. They are always on so they can't be related to he touch button?

Do you have a carrier phone? When mine boots up it's 10K lumens of white to the point it'll clearly light up a dark room. That and the HTC strum at max volume drive me crazy. Never reboot your phone in a crowd unless you want to be stared at.

Same here...walked out of the store and right back in...second phone has same problem but screen is better overall...really annoying seeing those lights at the bottom of the screen though...it is only noticeable on lighter color screens...
Anyone else got this??

I also have this issue. Is this normal, or do most One X's not have this problem/issue/feature?
i recently noticed backlight bleed at the bottom right of the screen with the help of backlight bleed test. I am not really worried since its in the bottom of the screen but should i be worried? Is that an indicator of future problems?

Some early builds had some nasty back light bleed that people posted pics of that, if you had the same thing, you wouldn't be asking what to do you'd know. I checked mine early on and at 100% brightness on a black background in a dark room I have some in the bottom right too. Since the odds of me looking at the display at 100% brightness in a dark room are pretty slim and it doesn't affect real world use I wouldn't exchange my otherwise perfect tablet for one that may be worse. I don't think any back lit LCD panel could pass the 100% brightness in a dark room test.

Does anyone else has a faint blackish spot around the edges of the phone? Mine has near the righr side. It's visible to the naked eye but hard to capture on my other phone.

I've the same on the corner but not don't disturbs me
I don't have that.

Hey guys, I have the same problem as well. Is it a problem in the display or is it common on IPS LCD display?
Help me out, got the device just yesterday.
It does not concern me anyway lol
Can someone post pictures of it perhaps so others can know before buying this phone?
This is referred to as "shadowing". It's one of the negatives of LCD, along with light bleed. I've heard a few reviews mention shadowing.
This is what it looks like with a bright white wallpaper. It is hard to take a good photo. This is at the bottom on my phone and the shadows are only visible with white/bright colored background.

A little black shading on right upper one third portion on my phone is evident.
.. is the sound u get when tapping the screen also changing depending on where you tap the screen; meaning it sounds more low-pitched in the middle of the screen and more higher at the top and bottom?

Jup. As this point I'd call it common knowledge, we have talked about this on XDA for about 9512 times already^^
We even have dedicated threads, the search engine is your friend here.
It has to do with how the screen has been bonded to the edge of the frame and what lies underneath the screen. It's also present on quite the number of other phones, like the new IPhone 13s.
And the beat goes on
thanks guys!
so lets get on to another screen issue (since i cannot find a display thread here): do u also have a reddish tint as soon as u slightly tilt the phone?

Nope, not at all. I just checked most colors and tilted my phone in every direction, and for some odd reason I can't seem to find any sort of color tint. Even my white stays white in a ridiculous tilt, which never happened before with a pixel phone. All my previous pixel phones went a bit bluish when tilted. .Maybe my eyes have gone kaboom sh*t crazy, or I won the lottery ticket of this years display.
Some people here claimed / talked about a yellowish tint of their display, even though that was more of a general sort and also present when the phone was not tilted. I'm not able to reproduce that, so there is not much more to say.
Do you have a screen protector by chance? That one might be responsible for tint if tilted.
