Is there a way to use android pay with root access on my lolipop note 4? I can't find anything after July of this year saying that Google broke access again. Now that my bank supports it, I'd really like to be able to use it. Can anyone shed any light on how to do this? Is it even possible? Thanks.
Yep, but requires xposed (wanams build) and either his security exchange fix or another lollipop exchange security fix that will work on Samsung's (careful with xposed it's known to cause rediculous memory leaks on lollipop use only approved modules for both api and base)

It's been out for a couple weeks now.
I've tried building it but the source is missing a bunch of ****. I was able to successfully build the kernel into a zImage. I will try soon to turn it into a flashable kernel and see if it works with ROMs such as Fulmics. I will likely post it here and on reddit's /r/lgg3 for testers. I'm assuming there should be no problems with it, but I couldn't determine which version of Marshmallow it was running. Hopefully it doesn't matter.
---------- Post added at 03:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:53 PM ----------
Oh, also, it's still listed on T-Mobile as Manufacturer Development, so it's quite possible it's buggy. One of the biggest reasons I want the kernel though is because Fulmics has a few problems with T-Mo, especially with the proximity sensor keeping the screen off.

Have you successfully made the zIMAGE into a flashible kernel?
Need help.
How do it root my new ZenFone Zoom ZX551ML
How to install Xposed..
I tried posting on official Asus support forums, but no help since last few days.
I tried to request the same via chat support, but they replied they dont support rooting.
Will appreciate if someone can guide in right direction.
It is becoming a major battery drainer and might help to control if rooted.
Google it, there are some methods available which lets you root this device

So when I was using galaxy S4 some time ago there was pure AOSP ROMs (not Cyanogenmod or LineageOS). Why there is no option to download it and install on OnePlus 3 to have pure nexus/pixel phone experience?
This is the closest you can and should get to AOSP

Try VertexOS m8.
There will never be pure AOSP on this device until Google writes the OS for us right now we can build an AOSP based rom but must use LOS/CAF trees for the hardware stuff

Problem with that one is, the security patch is all the way back in July.

Vertex OS is behind on security patches.
No it's not it even has the newest KRACK fixes from lineage (and if it shows an older Security patch level it's because the string wasn't updated)

Not of you use the latest one posted, someone made a unofficial build with the KRACK fixes.

Couldn't find it, I wouldn't suppose you have a link? I have been wanting to use that ROM for awhile, but security is a big thing for me.

Keep in mind it also has a ton of CAF with it. That Security Patches under Phoenix Status are outdated doenst mean that it does not have the updated security patches. This has been a known thing for CAF.

I want to be able to theme my device as I want, but also want security. I assume that doesn't exist because the majority of the time you need an unlocked bootloader/root for that?

Well that is part of it. There is a rootless theme option I hear for 8.x but I theme my device the old way.
Now some will tell you that root allows you more control over things making them more secure. This is only partly true. Yes it gives you more control. But if root can be granted due to rooting a device then it can be done without the user knowing. Not to mention the trust you have to have in the dev that controls the root app.
Look up susbstratum.

Yeah I use Substratum, I just use root instead of that Andromeda something app.

Hey, is this Oreo? On their website for Vertex OS it says that 3.5 was their final Nougat release.

Yeah you are gonna end up with caf (I prefer this as it is as close. To pure aosp as you can find) or Los based.
The majority of the reason is people being lazy. Instead of doing things themselves they use others bases. So you end up with what we have come to call kitchen sink roms.

One of the things I have noticed, is that I have never liked any LOS based ROMs idk why. They all seem buggy. The only ROM that I have really liked so far is Paranoid Android AOSPA 7.3.0.

That is because there are underlying bugs that have been there for years and never fixed. Now it would take a metric ton of work to fix it. This is why Los didn't fix the issues. They didn't want to start over. This is also the reason many real devs stopped using Los as a base.
I can't talk about PA really. I will not use their roms.

Oreo is comming really soon. But the dev is really busy with work give it some time
I'm on stock Verizon pixel 2 xl just OTA to pie and I discovered that parallel space apps simply force close from the OTA. Does someone found a workaround to get it working?
I have same issue with any other app cloning apps. Seems it's an issue between these apps and Android Pie.
---------- Post added at 05:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:43 PM ----------
I can verify apps cloned using App Cloner on a device not running Android Pie work on Android Pie. Try making the clone on another device and sending the clone to your phone through Bluetooth using es file manager until the cloning apps get updated. EDIT:It seems to not work with clones made by the latest version of App Cloner after further testing.
I've been a huge fan of the LineageOS roms in the past & have a couple of questions that maybe people can chime in on:
How come no ROMS, that I know of, are available for this phone?
What can I do to get my phone to something bare bones, like what LineageOS provides.
I've gone ahead and done the debloating without root, but the list that's available, only covers so many apps & my Sprint phone comes with so many junk apps.
Is there a difference deleting apps when rooted and when not?
Any input is greatly appreciated.

If the list is incomplete, just find the rest of the package names yourself and uninstall them.... Not too hard, I think. You have to bootloader unlock, and then you can install gsis like lineage or others. When rooted, you can do exactly what you can do without root, except you can easily do it without a computer (although you can use package disabler pro without root). You can also permanently uninstall system apps, so they stay uninstalled after a factory reset. Generally there's not really a point in that, and I barely ever do it.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I think I'm going to pay for package disabler pro. I would really love lineage on here but I don't see a dedicated version for this device and don't really want to spend all the time & effort to unlock the bl.

At some point, I might try to build lineage or someone else might, but right now there's nothing that a device specific rom really gives over these gsis. Of course you would have to unlock bl to flash lineage as well.

Thanks, but too little too late for my dodo self. I went to the apps page for the LG version and I saw the option to purchase direct through them. But didn't pay attention that it was the Samsung version. No where on their site is there a link for the LG version & I want to avoid buying through the Play Store.

It's fairly easy to get an apk for it... Anyway those devs have taken it off the play store in the past, so people were forced to buy it again. I don't think you should be too morally concerned in this case.
